Ironic That James Comey Actually “Helped” Trump Win In 2016, And Now Indicted By Trump Administration!

There are so many ironies about Donald Trump, but one of the most amazing is that Trump has no regard for someone who, unwittingly, helped him become President.

As head of the FBI in 2016, Comey, a registered Republican, announced an investigation of Hillary Clinton, which he then dropped 11 days later, but the damage was done.

Despite Clinton’s winning the popular vote by 2.85 million votes over Donald Trump, it was not enough to stop Trump in the Electoral College, making him the fourth time that a popular vote loser won the Presidency in the Electoral College.

Trump was not happy with James Comey, and fired him early in his first term, but now is attempting to bring him to a conviction based on flimsy evidence, forcing his politicized Justice Department under Attorney General Pam Bondi to indict him, as has just occurred.

This will be an interesting legal challenge for James Comey, but the odds of Donald Trump seeing a conviction of the former FBI head is quite remote!

It should remind Trump supporters in Congress that Trump will stop at nothing in his quest to be an authoritarian dictator!

Kamala Harris Memoir Burns Bridges, Likely Insures End Of Political Career!

Former Vice President Kamala Harris, by publishing a memoir with strong statements about many political leaders she has worked with, is likely burning her bridges, making it highly doubtful that she will ever again hold public office.

History records that once a Presidential nominee has lost election to the White House, the odds are extremely high that such individual will never be President.

There are only six cases of a defeated Presidential nominee going on to be elected President–three before the Civil War, once in the Gilded Age, once in the mid 20th century, and finally, Donald Trump.

Two of the cases–Grover Cleveland and Donald Trump– won the Presidency, then lost, and then returned, so unusual and special cases. In the case of Cleveland, he won in 1884, lost in 1888, and won in 1892. Trump won in 2016, lost in 2020, and won in 2024.

The three before the Civil War were Thomas Jefferson, who lost in 1796 and won in 1800; Andrew Jackson, who lost in 1824, and won in 1828; and William Henry Harrison, who lost in 1836 and won in 1840.

Finally, Richard Nixon lost in 1960, but then won in 1968 and 1972.

So the odds of Harris coming back are very low, but additionally, by being critical of Joe and Jill Biden and the Biden Staff, and stating her reasons for not selecting Josh Shapiro or Pete Buttigieg as her Vice Presidential running mate instead of Tim Walz, has caused controversy and a sense of anger by those individuals and others.

And it is generally well known that Kamala Harris was not an easy person to work for, losing staff regularly in the Senate and the Vice Presidency.

One gets the feeling from her appearance on Rachel Maddow, and on “The View”, that she does not seem to have the “fire in the belly” to compete in another strenuous Presidential campaign.

It would have been easier for Harris to have run for California Governor, with assurance of an easy victory, and a major role in the largest state’s impact in reaction to Donald Trump and the Republican Party, just like Gavin Newsom is now waging.

So it seems clear this is the end of any serious “comeback” by Kamala Harris to national politics.

Instead, she is on a major speaking tour to promote her book, and to spread the argument of strong opposition to the horrors of Donald Trump, but not a formal national or state role in that effort.

Constitution Day: The Crisis America Faces Under Donald Trump!

Today, September 17, is Constitution Day, celebrated every year in honor of the US Constitution, which was signed by the delegates to the Constitutional Convention in PHiladelphia on this day in 1787.

The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia and the National Archives in Washington, DC are commemorating the history of the Constitution as America is moving toward the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026.

It is ironic and sad that as we celebrate these documents, including also the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence, that we are faced by the greatest threat in American history, due to a criminally convicted and twice impeached President, who with his Cabinet and other allies, is in process of destroying the American Republic and American Democracy.

But there is a major reaction by all freedom loving people to resist what is happening, as all of us owe our allegiance to freedom and tolerance of political differences.

We have survived polarized times before, including the combative Presidential Election of 1800, when we had the first transition of power from one group to another, and without bloodshed.

We have survived the tumultuous Civil War; the struggle for racial justice; the Great Depression; the threat of Fascism in World War II; the Cold War with the Soviet Union; and the hotly contested Presidential Election of 2000.

It is hard to see it now, but America will survive Donald Trump, as long as we continue to believe in the Founding Documents of our nation, and insure that we continue to promote resistance to any threat to our historical traditions!

Danger Of Charlie Kirk Becoming Martyr And Provoking Political Violence! :(

The unfortunate assassination of Charlie Kirk is leading to threats to various groups who he constantly attacked in his statements and appearances, with the financial support of billionaries who wish to control the future with their right wing extremism.

So the Democratic National Committee, various Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), and a multitude of others who were not in agreement with his extremist rhetoric, are now being theatened.

Charlie Kirk is becoming a martyr for so called “good Christians”, who are anything but that, but simply those exploiting his death to promote their agenda against the rights of women, racial minorities, immigrants from Latin America and Africa, gay and transgender people, Muslims, and even Jews (except in regards to the Gaza War).

Violence and intimidation are being utilized, and Donald Trump is talking about retribution and revenge, an excuse to continue his quest to promote authoritarian tyranny and destroy our American democracy and the rule of law.

US Supreme Court Promotes Racial Profiling! A Disgrace For Court’s Reputation Of Upholding The Constitution!

The US Supreme Court is supposed to uphold the Constitution and enforce the Bill of Rights.

In its past, it has often NOT done such, and now, in the present, the Supreme Court under Chief Justice John Roberts, has reached a new low in its reputation and image.

It has endorsed racial profiling as permissible in seven Los Angeles area counties by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the National Guard. But once that is permitted, it can be expanded to everywhere, even though the Court said this was a “temporary” situation, not a final determination.

However, it is now open season for anyone who “looks” Latino, speaks with a Spanish accent, or has an Hispanic last name to be detained and put into a “hell hole”, at least in the Los Angeles area but likely to be expanded.

These victims of an oppressive government are denied due process, and subjected to lack of food, water, medicine, even a bed to sleep on while being held without trial, and in many cases, rapidly deported, by the order of Kristi Noem, Thomas Homan, Stephen Miller, Pam Bondi, and all of the other lawless Donald Trump lackeys!

Anyone who believes in basic civil liberties and sees America as the last great hope for oppressed people around the world has to be mourning and crying at what the American people, in their prejudice and bias and ignorance, have wrought upon the nation by electing Donald Trump to a second term, after the criminal actions he perpetrated in the first term!

Epstein Congressional Resolution Opposed By All But Four Republicans, And Termed A “Hoax” By Donald Trump, Absolutely Stunning!

It is stunning and shocking the the House resolution proposed by Kentucky Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, to have a complete accounting of all government records on the Epstein Scandal, has been unable to gain the backing of more than three other Republicans—Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, and Nancy Mace of South Carolina–at this moment of time.

A majority of the House of Representatives is needed to force the issue, but it is two votes short, and no other Republicans seem ready to back the resolution, due to Donald Trump threatening his party members, calling taking such action as “hostile”, and saying the whole Epstein investigation is a Democratic “hoax”.

And this, despite survivors holding a press conference last week to reveal the horrors of what they went through, and wanting accountability and transparency!

Trump is opposed to any action, or revelations, clearly, because he clearly personally engaged in illicit sex with underage girls and young women, in league with Jeffrey Epstein.

The Republican Party in Congress is a total disgrace, and should be drummed out of office in the midterms in 2026 and in 2028, but sadly, many Americans, with their racism, misogyny, nativism, and ignorance of reality, are likely to continue backing Donald Trump and his party, as they destroy American democracy and the rule of law!

Hopefully, however, Marjorie Taylor Greene has threatened to reveal names, and if she does, she will have done one good thing, while otherwise, she has been a total nightmare in the House of Representatives with her various lunatic activities and behavior!

Donald Trump Is Underming Multiple Areas Of American Progress

After seven and a half months of his second term, President Donald Trump has used a “wrecking ball” that has undermined multiple areas of American progress of past Presidents and Congresses.

Trump has undermined a stable American foreign policy, upending our relationship with NATO and our Asian allies, and encouraging aggression by dictatorships worldwide.

Trump has undermined our heritage of civil rights and civil liberties progress, from the time of Lyndon B. Johnson onward.

Trump has undermined environmental and consumer protection, which has been a guidepost since the time of Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon.

Trump has undermined America’s economic progress with his crazy, mad dash toward tariffs that are already showing signs of bringing about an economic recession and make life more difficult for anyone not of the wealthy upper class.

Trump has declared war on immigrants, upending the concept of tolerance and the essential need for a work force that includes foreigners who wish to become part of the “American Dream”.

Trump has shown total lack of compassion, decency, ethics, morals and tolerance toward anyone not white male Christian, including setting back progress for nonwhites, women, gays and lesbians, and disabled people.

Trump has undermined the independence of universities, the news media, corporations, and law firms, all threatening American democracy and its institutions.

So Trump has declared war on much of the 20th and 21st century progress from Theodore Roosevelt to Joe Biden, Presidents and Congresses of both political parties!

Sycophancy Of Trump Cabinet Beyond The Pale!

The word “Sycophancy” means “obsequious behavior toward someone important in order to gain advantage”.

This is the kind of behavior by those who serve or wish to serve a King, an Emperor, an authoritarian dictator of either the Left (Communism), or the Right (Fascism).

It is not the behavior that is acceptable in a democracy, as it encourages lying and deceit, and engaging in corruption and scandal, which undermines the citizens of any nation.

And yet, that is exactly what is occurring during the past seven plus months of the second Donald Trump Presidency.

The Trump Cabinet and other advisers are the most corrupt, disgraceful, and outrageous group of any President in the entire history of the United States.

At televised Cabinet Meetings, they praise Donald Trump in an extreme way as would happen under Joseph Stalin in the former Soviet Union and Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany, as well as other past authoritarian dictatorships and historically, absolute monarchs and Emperors throughout World History.

It is also what goes on around Vladimir Putin in the Russian Federation; Kim Jong Un in North Korea, Xi Jinping in China, and other modern extremist dictatorships.

It is impossible to rank Trump sycophants, as they are all horrendous, obnoxious excuses for human beings.

Whether it is Pam Bondi, Kristi Noem, Tulsi Gabbard, or any other woman around Trump, they are all enough to make one shudder in horror.

Whether it is Pete Hegseth, Howard Lutnick, Scott Bessent, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Russell Vought, or any other man around Trump, they are a total disaster.

The same feeling exists around Vice President JD Vance, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as terrible as he is, lying to himself, and complying with Trump, seen as the “least” disgraceful Cabinet member, but not someone to applaud in any sense!

Many Federal Judges Ruling Against Trump, But Will The Supreme Court Ultimately Uphold The Constitution?

Donald Trump is on the losing side of many lawsuits, as judges at the district court and appellate court levels, including some appointees of Trump or earlier Republican Presidents, are making decisions that declare Trump is engaged in illegal actions. Constraints on his power is important not just for now, but also for future Presidencies.

These decisions include the illegality of the National Guard intervention in Los Angeles; the imposition of tariffs on many foreign nations; and the misuse of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport migrants to other nations, including El Salvador, South Sudan, Uganda, and elsewhere. And now, a federal judge has just declared that withholding $2 million in research funds from Harvard University is unlawful.

Altogether, Trump has lost 130 cases brought to court about his actions, including his abuse of executive orders, which have numbered close to 200 in seven and a half months.

The problem is that while this is good news, ultimately, the Supreme Court will have the final say on these matters, and it seems, sadly, unlikely that the majority of the very extreme right wing Court will deny Trump ability to do whatever he wants.

This means the Supreme Court seems on the road to allowance of the establishment of an authoritarian dictatorship, with no controls or regulations on the actions of Donald Trump. The Trump V US case of 2024 was a sign that the Court is not interested in putting reins on a President’s power, upending constitutional law, and the intentions of the Founding Fathers.

There is still hope of regulations being enforced, but it will be up to Chief Justice John Roberts, who has demonstrated how weak and ineffective he is; and likely, Associate Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who is very unpredictable and unreliable.

Significant Impact Of Immigration Crackdown On American Economy

In the midst of the harsh immigration crackdown going on under President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, many are not aware or care to realize the dramatic impact of what is occurring on the American economy.

More than 1.2 million immigrants disappeared from the labor force between January and July 2025.

Immigrants are 20 percent of the American labor force, whether legal or undocumented.

45 percent of workers in agriculture, fishing, and forestry are immigrants.

30 percent of construction workers and 24 percent of service workers are immigrants.

43 percent of home health care aides are immigrants.

Besides the human suffering being caused by ICE raids and deportations, many industries and many millions of Americans are being harmed by the narrow minded policy of working to deport all immigrants that can be found, not just those who have committed serious crimes.
