Realignment Seems To Have Occurred, But It May Not Last Past Next Presidential Election!

The Democratic Party has received a heavy rebuke from voters, who once could be counted upon to remain in support of the party.

It is mind boggling that 46 percent of Latinos, 39 percent of Asian Americans, 20 percent of African Americans, and working class Whites abandoned the party that promoted civil rights and social justice reforms over the 90 years since Franklin D. Roosevelt and the New Deal in the 1930s.

But their “abandonment” is more centered around the key issue of the economy, the reality that the COVID 19 Pandemic created high inflation which finally, but belatedly, has been overcome in recent months.

Overall, the economy has done well, but since people think first about the issue of groceries, gas, and other costs that had been mounting, they decided to avoid dealing with the other issues so important out there, such as survival of democracy, abortion rights, and foreign policy concerns.

The inability of Joe Biden to deal with the problem of immigration at the border also was effectively used by Republicans, along with creating the false issue of transgender rights.

Donald Trump is not going to keep the support of the groups who voted for him, once they realize he is only concerned about corporations and the wealthy, and is on the road to another massive tax cut, adding trillions to the national debt, and imposing tariffs that will raise the cost of living for the people who decided to support him.

Donald Trump is assured to antagonize and alienate groups that will realize they have been taken advantage of, and as long as the Democratic Party comes up with new proposals and plans and have a dynamic primary season for the 2028 Presidential nomination, the party will be able to retrieve what they have lost!

Electing Trump Allows Dangerous Characters To Promote Policy!

What is even more scary than Donald Trump being returned to the Oval Office is that it would allow dangerous characters to promote their evil intentions, as they would have ultimate power over many areas of government policy, with Trump not fully engaged, and allowing his loyalists to do whatever they wish.

There would be no guard rails of people who intervened in the Trump Presidency over four years, and in many cases, then resigned or were fired, but now “true believers” with extreme ideas would be in total charge.

These characters and many others would be a massive threat to the continuation of American democracy and the rule of law.

Alarming That Billionaire Owners Of Media Are Staying Neutral On Presidential Endorsements!

An alarming development as the Presidential Election of 2024 nears, is that the billionaire owners of two highly significant and reputable national newspapers have refused to allow their staffs to make an endorsement for President. The Washington Post has had 76 Pulitzer Prizes in its history, and the Los Angeles Times has had more than 40 in its history.

Jeff Bezos of the Washington Post and Patrick Soon-Shiong of the Los Angeles Times have prevented endorsements in the most significant Presidential race since 1940 and 1860. This is billionaire cowardice, kowtowing to the authoritarian threat of Donald Trump!

Their actions, interfering with the editorial board and staff, is causing alarm and provoking resignations, as well as cancellation of subscriptions by readers, as it seems clear that the personal business interests of both men are getting in the way of principles and public safety at a crucial moment in the fight for protection of democracy, the Constitution, and the rule of law!

Additionally, the New York Post, owned by the Rupert Murdoch family, the most despicable newspaper owner imaginable, has decided to endorse Donald Trump, after having backed away from support two years ago after the legal cases against Donald Trump were made clear as a result of the January 6, 2021 US Capitol Insurrection.

Danger Of American Fascism Greater Now Than Ever Before!

America has had the danger of Fascism before in its history, but never as great as in the present with Donald Trump!

In the past, we had Huey Long in the 1930s before 1936, with him being assassinated in September 1935.

We also had Strom Thurmond in 1948.

We also had George Wallace in 1968.

We also had Patrick Buchanan in 1992 and 2000.

The closest threat before now was Wallace in 1968, who ran as the American Independent Party nominee, and won 5 Southern states and 46 electoral votes. I cover the story of Wallace in my Presidential Assassinations book.

Strom Thurmond won 4 Southern states and 39 electoral votes in 1948 as the candidate of the Dixiecrats.

Long was a great potential threat to Franklin D. Roosevelt for 1936, but was assassinated in 1935, as I cover in my Presidential Assassinations book.

Patrick Buchanan weakened George H. W. Bush in 1992 primaries, and his name on the ballot in Florida in 2000 led to confusion, gaining votes that were meant to go to Democratic nominee Al Gore, affecting the election of George W. Bush.

But now, Donald Trump is a real threat, not only to immigrants, but also to critics, whether in the news media or opposition politicians, and calling for a dictatorship on Day One, leading General Mark Milley to declare Trump a Fascist, and the most dangerous threat to American democracy, the Constitution, and rule of law in all of American history!

Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson Both “Clear And Present Danger” To American Democracy

Not only is Donald Trump a threat to American democracy, the Constitution, and the rule of law, who now has been revealed to have had up to seven contacts with Vladimir Putin since he left the Presidency.

But also, billionaire Elon Musk and extremist right wing commentator Tucker Carlson have laughed at Elon Musk’s earlier statement that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have not been threatened as Donald Trump was by two assassination attempts, but further joked about the idea that it could happen to Harris!

This is freedom of speech gone amuck, and makes both Musk and Carlson “clear and present dangers”, who need to be warned that such statements are NOT freedom of speech, but threats to a Presidential candidate, and that prosecution by the Secret Service could be in the offing!

Public figures such as Musk and Carlson can have the potential to incite bloodshed and violence by their reckless oratory, and assassination is not something to laugh about!

They are not “normal” citizens, but rather public figures who can influence unstable people with the idea that it is legitimate to threaten Presidential candidates, so they need to be warned to stop such rhetoric immediately!

Liz Cheney, Kamala Harris At Ripon, Wisconsin: Birthplace Of Republican Party 170 Years Ago, And Now In Crisis!

Today is a very momentous day, as former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, is campaigning for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in Ripon, Wisconsin, the birthplace of the Republican Party in 1854!

Cheney and Harris do not agree much on policy, but Cheney and many other conservatives and Republicans are supporting her election because of the threat posed by Donald Trump’s attempt to return to the White House in the elections next month.

Trump is an existential threat to American democracy, the Constitution, and the rule of law, and Cheney has sacrificed her political career in opposing Trump after the US Capitol Insurrection of January 6, 2021, which caused five deaths of law enforcement officers and injuries to more than 140 other law enforcement personnel.

This is true patriotism in the best sense, and Cheney and many other conservatives and Republicans who are showing principle will be remembered in a positive way in American history for the long run!

Defeat Of Donald Trump Only Way To Save Republican Party And Conservatism!

The Republican Party and conservatism have had a long history, best represented by Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan as its major luminaries, with both assuredly condemning Donald Trump, were they alive today!

Now, vast numbers of conservatives are repudiating the candidacy of Donald Trump, as they well realize he is a total electoral disaster, and his lunatic behavior is causing many of them to back the candidacy of Kamala Harris, as the only way to survive Trump.

So conservatism is still going to be a challenge to Democrats and progressive and liberal values in the future, but the sense is that MAGA Trumpism is a disease, a cancer, that must be excised before conservatism is able to offer a legitimate alternative in the future in the Republican Party.

In other words, purging is essential, and the total defeat of Donald Trump and his followers, who are a threat to American democracy, the Constitution, and rule of law.

JD Vance Joins Controversial List Of Republican Vice Presidential Candidates!

The Republican Party is infamous for selecting controversial Vice Presidential candidates, and some of them end up elected and become true disasters.

This history goes back to Richard Nixon being selected by Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1952, as Nixon was a promoter of the “Red Scare” even before the nation heard of Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy. While Nixon ended up having some positive aspects to his later Presidency, he was involved in the Watergate Scandal, leading to his resignation in 1974, but thank goodness with Gerald Ford as his successor.

Richard Nixon selected Spiro Agnew as his Vice President in 1968, and Agnew became extremely controversial in that office over nearly five years, coming to be known as “Nixon’s Nixon”, until he was forced out in 1973 for corruption charges, resigning and saving the nation from his potential Presidency.

George H. W. Bush selected Dan Quayle as his Vice President in 1988, and the nation had to pray for Bush’s good health, as Quayle came across as not very bright, amid concern that despite his ignorance and stupidity, that he might become President.

John McCain selected Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential nominee in 2008, but the nation was saved from this ignorant, not very bright, and divisive woman being a heartbeat away when Barack Obama won the Presidency over McCain.

And now, we have JD Vance in 2024, who is a “chameleon”, who has changed his views on Donald Trump, and now can be seen as a threat, based on his lies and deception, if Trump becomes President, and cannot finish his term. Vance’s right wing leanings connect him to the evils of the John Birch Society.

Vance is a backer of Project 2025, and wrote the preface for this 922 page document, and must be seen as “a clear and present danger” to American democracy and the rule of law!

Chief Justice John Roberts At A Crossroads

Chief Justice John Roberts is only the 17th person to be Chief Justice.

He has been Chief Justice for 19 years by September, and will be the fourth longest serving Chief Justice at that point, already surpassing the average tenure for a Chief Justice, with the major exceptions of John Marshall (1801-1835) and Roger Taney (1836-1864)), and also Melville Weston Fuller (1888-1910).

Roberts worries, rightfully, about the reputation of the Supreme Court, as it is named after the people who hold the position of Chief Justice.

While a definite conservative, Roberts has tried to promote a rational center on the Court, but that has become much more difficult with the extreme rightward swing of the Court since Donald Trump made three appointments in his one term of office.

The feeling is that Roberts has lost any sense of control or ability to influence his colleagues.

There clearly are major splits on the Court, and Roberts has the difficult job of showing he can lead, or allowing Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito to dominate the Court.

It is hoped that Roberts, quietly, behind the scenes, has convinced the Trump appointees to tame the influence of Thomas and Alito, as otherwise, the reputation of the Court and his own historical reputation will lie in tatters.

This will be demonstrated when the Court finally makes its fateful decision this week on Presidential immunity, and the majority of the Court desperately needs to get this case right, or else, the American experiment in democracy will be in long term crisis!

June 27 Presidential Debate Most Important Ever Held!

We are six days away from the most important Presidential debate in American history.

Presidential debates took place in 1960, and then every four years since 1976.

But none have mattered as much as the upcoming debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

This is the first time two Presidents, with one being a former President trying to return to office, have competed for the Oval Office since 1892, when President Benjamin Harrison was challenged by former President Grover Cleveland, who went on to defeat him decisively, but with no debates in that era.

Why is this the most important Presidential debate ever in our history?

Because Donald Trump represents a dire threat to the American Constitution, the rule of law, American Democracy, and to world peace and stability.

Donald Trump is a threat to women, African Americans, all immigrant groups, Civil Liberties and Civil Rights, Health care, gun regulations, the environment, labor rights, federal government agencies, the federal judiciary, military stability, Intelligence Agencies, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, all other international organizations, the potential of nuclear war, and every other imaginable group or issue.

Trump had the most corrupt Presidency by far in American history, and the danger is that the people he brings in would wield tremendous power, and have evil intentions, much of which could occur even without his personal knowledge and support, even more so as his mind deteriorates, and he is manipulated by them.
