Is there such a thing as ‘Miracles”?
Apparently, there might be, based on the shocking news that conservative talk show host and FOX News Channel star Bill O’Reilly came out in support of a public option availability for those who wish to have it.
He made clear that he did not want it for himself, but then again, what wealthy talk show host who makes in the top one tenth of one percent salary in this nation would want that or need that?
Still, it is a big surprise, and while I am no fan of Bill O’Reilly, I must say that he has always been a bit of a “populist”, in the sense that his common struggling middle class boyhood seems to have left some effect on him at times, although he usually gives in to his greed and materialist side.
In any case, for at least one time (so don’t count on many more accolades LOL), Bill O’Reilly came out for the correct (not Right) stand! 🙂 Congratulations!
Why do you always seem to place O’Reilly in the same category as Limbaugh and Hannity and Beck? If you actually watch his show you can see that he is much more moderate and is not a right wing ideologue and cannot stand propaganda. In fact, almost all right wingers do not like him. . .
And anyways, when did he state that he supported the public option?
O Reilly stated his backing of a public option on Wednesday, September 16. The reason I put him in the same category as Beck, Limbaugh and Hannity is that he uses heightened rhetoric, and often is a bully in his approach to many issues. He is very rude and nasty to many of his guests, and has a tendency to sensationalize and manipulate the truth. However, having said that, I would have to admit that he has been LESS loony and crazy than Beck, Limbaugh and Hannity, and even Barack Obama did agree to go on his program before the election, and that interview went well.
Several examples of Bill O’Reilly manipulating the truth?
O Reilly has been accused by media watchdog organizations such as Media Matters and Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting as distorting facts and using statistics in an inaccurate or misleading matter. Also, O Reilly, by his sensationalistic and critical reporting about an abortion doctor, helped to provoke deadly violence against that doctor who was killed earlier this year, and expressed no remorse or sadness over his death. He has also used the techniques of name calling and propaganda against anyone of foreign birth, and promotes an anti European view, particularly against France, including advocating a few years ago that we not buy French wine and rename French Fries “Freedom Fries”. He has therefore come across to many educated people as appealing to the lowest common denominator within the population, and stirring up anti foreign sentiment.
