Trump Demolition Of East Wing Of White House Is Disgraceful Violation Of History Of “The People’s House”! :(

On the nine month anniversary of the Second Trump Presidency, America saw the beginning of a massive demolition of the White House, “The People’s House”, on orders of Donald Trump, who decided on his own that the East Wing should be demolished, so that a massive Ballroom could be built to entertain guests, mostly billionaires, in the future!

It is an atrocity to see the damage wrought on the first day, and to realize that the supposed “ghosts” in the White House have been disturbed, due to the maniacal egotism of a man, who is allowing a billionaire oligarchy to subsidize this project, as a reward for dramatic cutting in their taxes at the expense of health care coverage for millions of Americans!

With the damage wrought by Trump in the first nine months, in a multitude of ways, and topped off by the assault on “the People’s House” on this anniversary, one can only imagine and fear what further damage and destruction Trump will create in his intention to create a Fascist authoritarian regime, that destroys American Democracy and the Rule of Law!

The tens of millions who oppose this regime must continue to resist in every way imaginable, and never give up the fight, because it affects not just us alive today, but future generations aas well!

Chief Justice John Roberts: A Total Disappointment And Disaster!

Chief Justice John Roberts has been the leader of the Supreme Court now for 20 years, fourth longest service of the 17 Chief Justices since 1789.

Roberts came on the court as a “moderate conservative”, appointed by George W. Bush in 2005 right after Chief Justice William Rehnquist died, and the day before Roberts was to begin hearings to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, replacing the retiring Sandra Day O’Connor.

Fate would have it that due to the death of the Chief Justice, suddenly Roberts would be elevated to a special status of being the leader of the Court.

Roberts came across for many years as “reasonable”, including when he “saved” the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) in a court decision in 2013.

Roberts always spoke of the need for balance and reasonableness, but in reality, that was a false, misleading image of him.

Now, 20 years in, Roberts is revealed as a phony, who has moved the Court toward the extreme Right, and shocked people with statements in recent years that reveal just how Right Wing he is.

For instance, he has said that racism is no longer an issue, which is totally preposterous and outrageous.

He has led a Court that has brought Donald Trump to have awesome power and has undermined the separation of powers, and he has contributed to what is becoming an authoritarian and Fascist Presidency, undermining American democracy and the rule of law.

So Roberts will go down in history as a tragedy and disaster, and his reputation long term will be in tatters!

And now, the Voting Rights Act is being challenged in the Court, which could destroy the idea of representation for minorities, and making the possibility of a white dominated House of Representatives, that could make the Republican Party dominant into the future.

And if that happens in this Supreme Court term, the Roberts Court will have sealed its reputation of returning American to the time of JIM CROW, and white supremacy, which was overcome by the Civil Rights Movement and the massive positive contribution of President Lyndon B. Johnson and the “Great Society” in the 1960s!

7 Million Americans Participated In NO KINGS Rallies!

America, which has a tradition of non violent rallies and demonstrations, once again demonstrated to the nation and the world the widespread opposition to the authoritarian Fascist policies of President Donald Trump and his corrupt, lawless, Cabinet Officers and other advisors.

Seven million Americans, of all backgrounds and political persuasions, participated in nationwide marches across the breadth and expanse of America in all fifty states.

The resistance to the abuses occurring and multiplying daily will evolve further, as Americans are not about to give up their civil and human rights to a unstable, demented tyrant, who is deteriorating before our eyes on a daily basis.

The sycophants around Trump prop him up, and are enriching themselves while Americans en masse are losing coverage for health care insurance, and seeing many government agencies and valued federal government workers being eliminated, a crime against humanity!

House Speaker Mike Johnson Abuser Of Power, And Lackey Of Donald Trump!

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will mark two years in that position, second in line for the Presidency under the Presidential Succession Act of 1947, on Saturday, October 25.

It has been a tumultuous two years, serving under Joe Biden, and now, Donald Trump.

Johnson has been extremely controversial in his utterances and actions, demonstrating an abuse of power, and being a total lackey to Donald Trump.

Johnson claims to be a devout “good” Christian, but he is anything but that, including

having the House of Representatives not in session for almost a month while the federal government is shut down.

refusing to seat an Arizona Democratic Congresswoman, Adelita Grijalva, elected nearly a month ago, so as to avoid her voting on forcing the “Epstein Files” to be made available by a majority vote of the House.

claiming that the NO KINGS marchers and demonstrators taking place today are “terorists and radicals”, who “Hate America and are Antifa”, denying their validity as a means of protest of the authoritarian moves of Donald Trump.

and demonstrating no concern about the impending health insurance disaster, including in his own home state of Louisiana, due to the massive tax cuts given the wealthy at the expense of ordinary people.

His controversial and divisive leadership has made him look worse than former Speakers Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan, and made former Speaker Nancy Pelosi shine as easily the best recent Speaker of the House since fellow Democrat Thomas “Tip” O’Neill in the 1970s and 1980s.

“Like Father, Like Son” NOT The Case With RFK Jr. And Andrew Cuomo!

The old saying–“Like Father, Like Son” is certainly NOT the case when one reflects on two very controversial political figures—Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., presently the Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Donald Trump—and Andrew Cuomo, former New York Governor (2011-2021), and presently running as an Independent for New York City Mayor, after losing the Democratic primary to State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani.

It is very clear that if Robert F. Kennedy, former Attorney General of the United States (1961-1964), New York Senator (1965-1968), and Democratic Presidential contender for the 1968 Presidential election, before being tragically assassinated, were alive today, he would be shocked at what has happened in the life of his son, who has been a denier of science and health, and has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, along with a very loose and disgraceful sexual abuse behavior over many decades. RFK Jr. has demonstrated how unstable he is in his dangerous mental state, willing to undermine public health and promote his own financial assets, while showing no concern for women’s rights and the significance of vaccines in preventing mass disease and death!

It is also very clear that Mario Cuomo, former New York Governor (1983-1995), with a reputation of decency and honesty, who many observers hoped he would run for President in 1992, were alive today, he would be shocked at the arrogant, entitled, and morally corrupt record of his older son. Andrew Cuomo was forced out of the Governorship on allegations of sexual harassment, as well as blunders made during the Covid 19 Pandemic crisis. Andrew Cuomo also has demonstrated willingness to collaborate with Donald Trump against the best interests of New York City and New York State.

Ironically, the late Robert F. Kennedy would reach the age of 100 on November 20, were he alive, sharing that birthday with President Joe Biden, who will be age 83 on that date a month from now. And Biden, in the White House, had a bust of RFK on his desk, always visible, as he considered the father of RFK Jr to be his political hero and idol. But RFK Jr. has repudiated his family’s legacy in his crazed state of mind, and apparently, there are rumors that he is considering a run for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2028, when he would be nearing 75, and already looks in a horrible aging condition!

And the odds of Andrew Cuomo, somehow, pulling victory out of his defeat in the Democratic Mayoral primary, a few weeks from now, seems highly delusional. And if somehow that was to occur, it would NOT be for the best future of New York City!

The Issue Of “Age” In Upcoming Midterm Elections In 2026

The US Congress, in both chambers, is the oldest in age of any period of American history, and the issue of whether it is time for members in their 70s, 80s, and beyond to move on, and allow a younger generation better able to relate to the future, to be replacing them.

David Hogg of Florida, who was a Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, caused controversy in promoting such change, and he was pushed out, and is working with others to challenge many older, longer serving members in upcoming primaries for the 2026 Congressional Elections.

And the issue has come to the forefront, particularly, in the state of Maine, where Democratic Governor Janet Mills, age 77, is challenging sitting Republican Senator Susan Collins, who will have served for 30 years in the upper chamber, and is presently 72 years old.

So Graham Plattner, age 41, an oyster famer and Marine Corp veteran, is challenging Janet Mills, with the issue of age being a crucial one.

And Maine already has Senator Angus King, who just won reelection at age 80 in 2024, and Vermont has Bernie Sanders, who won reelection in 2024 at age 83.

But there are other such cases, as with Democratic Senator Ed Markey of Massacusetts, age 80, who has served a half century combined in the House of Representatives until 2013, and since then in the Senate. Congressman Seth Moulton, age 47, is arguing that while Markey has been an excellent leader for Massachusetts, it is time for change.

Other Democratic Senators of advanced age are retiring, including Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, and New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Also Republican Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is retiring in 2026.

But there are others who are over 70 and choosing to run for reelection, or planning to when the next elecion for their seat takes place, including Ron Wyden of Oregon and Chuck Schumer of New York in 2028.

Also, in the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi of California, Steny Hoyer of Maryland, Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, and Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, the fist three past leaders in the chamber, are running again in 2026, despite their being in their 80s. And Republican Senator and President Pro Tempore Chuck Grassley also could run for reelection in 2028, although at present, he is 92 years old!

It would seem legitimate that these older political leaders would finally give up their positions, and allow for the future generation to take over Congress.

Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense (or War insisted by him and Donald Trump) has pushed out all access to Pentagon information, by forcing all journalists to leave their long determined rights to have ability to question and investigate what is going on in our government, regarding military matters and national security.

Except for the one case of One America News, an extremist right wing MAGA Republican news outlet, ALL other news and journalistic websites and their reporters no longer will be able to gain information, except through outside connections, undermining the idea of a government accountable to the population of the nation. Corruption and abuse will flourish as a result!

Renaming Defense Department As War Department A Bad Sign For Future!

Pege Hegseth, the Fox News weekend host, now heading the Pentagon, has brought the “wrecking ball” to that government agency, and has promoted renaming the Department of Defense as the Department of War.

That was the name of the department that deals with military and security matters from 1789 to 1947, but renamed the Defense Department under President Harry Truman in 1947.

But Donald Trump and his crony, Hegseth, want to promote a war like imperialistic image, and are aggressively engaged in hostile actions toward nations in the Western Hemisphere, including attacks on speculated “drug boats” of Venezuela and Panama regarding the Panama Canal Treaty, as well as pushing the idea of Canada becoming the “51st state”, thereby causing the worst relations with our northern neighbor in more than a century and a half of peaceful neighborliness.

Additionally, there is growing fear of Trump and Hegseth pushing for control of Greenland, taking it away from Denmark, which it has been part of for the past two centuries, thereby causing tensions with NATO.

Additionally, Hegseth has attempted to force journalists who report on the Pentagon to agree to limitations on freedom of the press, but the good news is that journalists of the left and the right have refused enmasse to agree to such limitations.

The idea of reviving the Department of “War” needs to be repudiated in every way possible, and the idea of US invasion of sovereign nations and territories needs to be repudiated vehemently by all civilized nations, as there should not be any caving in to the concept of US imperialism being revived!

Release Of Israeli Hostages A Major Accomplishment For Donald Trump, BUT What About Preserving Democracy In America?

The deal struck by President Donald Trump that has led today to the release of Israeli hostages is a major accomplishment, for which Trump deserves credit and praise.

However, Trump is over the top in his belief that a new world has emerged in the Middle East, as if this arrangement solves all of the issues involving the Palestinians and Israel, and the reality that Hamas has not been totally dissolved.

So the likelihood is for future warfare and conflict, and more bloodshed down the road, if not immediately.

This is a sad situation, but is a realistic assessment.

So while Trump can be praised for what he has done, and it has made him popular in Israel, the reality is that it does not make up for the total destruction of American democracy and the rule of law at home in America.

Trump has been engaged with his sycophants in the Cabinet, in the MAGA Republican Congress, and in the Supreme Court, in undermining the Bill of Rights.

It is clearly well along toward establishment of an authoritarian Fascist government, that is nativist, racist, misgonynist, homophobic, and imperialist oriented on the world stage, with his threats toward Latin America, Canada, and NATO, and his creating tensions around the world with his crazy tariff policies.

52 Years: From Nixon And Agnew To Trump And Vance!

Fifty two years ago, Vice President Spiro Agnew resigned under scandal, and ten months later, President Richard Nixon resigned in disgrace, abandoned by his own Republican Party in Congress.

Who would think that a half century later, we would have an outspoken, obnoxious, obsequious sycophant, JD Vance, with few qualifications to be President, being a heartbeat away from the White House, which has in Donald Trump a President far worse and more corrupt than Richard Nixon ever was!

And to top it off, the Republican Party in Congress is a lapdog, unwilling to challenge the President and Vice President, unlike how many of their party did so in the 1970s.

American democracy and the rule of law was under threat back then, and was saved by Gerald Ford and by opposition Democrats who worked together to overcome the worst elements of the Watergate Scandal.

Can we expect a similar situation in the present tense? At this moment, it seems as if we are witnessing the most dire threat to American democracy, since World War II and the Civil War, and it is hard to imagine we will come out of it as a nation based on the US Constitution, and just as we are to “celebrate” the 250th Anniversary of the American Republic and the Declaration Of Independence!
