Four Democrats, Straight White Christian Men, May Be Best Alternatives For 2028!

In a time of so much division and conflict in America, it is noticeable that most of the potential Democratic Party Presidential contenders are perceived as having disadvantages in a time of white Christian nationalist extremism taking over the Republican Party, encouraged by Donald Trump.

The following list of 20 potential Presidential contenders is quite revealing, as we have the elections next week in NYC, New Jersey, Virginia, and the California vote on reapportionment of Congressional seats.

So we have potential Presidential contenders who are females—Kamala Harris, Gretchen Whitmer, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Amy Klobuchar.

So we have potential Presidential contenders who are African Americans or Latino or Asian ethnicity—Wes Moore, Cory Booker, Raphael Warnock, Stephen A. Smith, Ruben Gallego, Ro Khanna.

So we have potential Presidential contenders who are Jewish—JD Pritzker, Josh Shapiro, Jared Polis, Jon Ossoff, Josh Green.

So we have potential Presidential contenders who are gay—Pete Buttigieg, Jared Polis.

And then, we have white male “straight” Christian Presidential contenders—Gavin Newsom, Andy Beshear, Chris Murphy, Mark Kelly.

One could argue that in the present political climate, the latter four names—all white male “straight” Christian contenders—might be the best bet moving forward, although saying that is tragic, as it should not matter if one is a female, a racial minority, Jewish, or Gay individual.

Other than Barack Obama, the sad truth is that no woman, racial minority, Jewish, or gay politician, has been able to break through to this point, a sad commentary on American life!

Pure Hysteria About Mamdani “Socialism”, Depicting Him As A “Communist” And “Islamic Terrorist”, By Republicans!

New York City is very likely to elect Zohran Mamdani the 111th Mayor a week from now, despite the dire warnings being spread by Republicans and corporate leaders, and even many religious leaders, both Jewish and otherwise.

There is pure hysteria being spread that Mamdani, a self described “Democratic Socialist”, is a “Communist” and an “Islamic Terrorist”, as he is of the Muslim faith.

The Jewish community is deeply divided over Mamdani, who has been harshly critical of the Israel-Gaza War, which has killed about 65,000 Palestinians. Some Jewish groups who are totally supportive of any tactic or policy of the Israeli government under Benjamin Netanyahu see Mamdani as a dire threat to Jews in New York City and elsewhere.

The fact that Mamdani has plans to help the struggling middle class and poor, rather than cater to the wealthy elite, also has led the Republican Party nationally under Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and President Donald Trump, to portray him with the lunatic accusation that he is a “Communist’, which demonstrates total ignorance and stupidity about the meaning of the term.

If anything, Trump himself being too “cozy” with Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation and Kim Jong Un of North Korea (both Communists), belies the manipulation of public opinion being perpetrated by a Republican Party, which clearly does not care about the rapidly worsening economic conditions caused by Trump’s refusal to care about the economic plight of tens of millions of Americans who were told the cost of living would decrease under Trump in his second term.

Trump Corruption And Malfeasance In Long Line Of Past Republican Presidents, But Worse Than Any Of Them!

The level of Donald Trump, Cabinet, and Advisors corruption and malfeasance is the most massive in American history, and right out in the open, without any apology or shame!

But this is nothing new for Republican Presidents.

Historians, Political Scientists, and other scholars have made clear by research and living through the past few Republican Presidents, that the Republican Party is manifestly a party of privilege and open abuse of office under SIX Republican Presidents.

In order historically, the following Republican Presidents have presided over massive corruption:

Ulysses S. Grant (1869-1877)—most famously Credit Mobilier Scandal but others as well.

Warren G. Harding (1921-1923)—most famously Teapot Dome Scandal but others as well.

Richard Nixon (1969-1974)—most famously Watergate Scandal but others as well.

Ronald Reagan (1981-1989)—most famously Iran-Contra Scandal but others as well.

George W. Bush (2001-2009)—most famously Iraq War Scandal but others as well.

It is often felt that Grant, Harding, Reagan, and Bush may not have been intimately involved personally, but they had corrupt adviers and Cabinet members around them.

In the case of Nixon, clearly, he was the most corrrupt personally and administration of any of these Presidents, until Donald Trump, who has surpassed Nixon by leaps and bounds!

Steve Bannon Says Trump Can Have Third Term, Totally Unconstitutional!

In the midst of all the chaos and lunacy going on, including the destruction of the East Wing of the White House without any consulation or outside approval, now criminal adviser Steve Bannon suggests that Donald Trump can have a third term in the Presidency!

This is NOT possible under the 22nd Amendment, added to the Constitution in 1951, after Republicans promoted it as a reaction to the reality that Franklin D. Roosevelt had been elected four times to the Presidency.

There is no legal way for Trump to be in office beyond January 20, 2029, and to suggest otherwise, is terrifying and horrifying, as it implies a suspension of the Constitution!

Trump, also, is already showing signs of dementia, and is regularly temperamental and irrational, and would be between ages 82 and 86 in another term.

The only leaders who have ever served at such an advanced age as a leader of a major nation has been monarchs, which Trump considers himself to be in his mind.

But there is NO legal or constitutional way for what Steve Bannon suggests to occur!

Chief Justice John Roberts: A Total Disappointment And Disaster!

Chief Justice John Roberts has been the leader of the Supreme Court now for 20 years, fourth longest service of the 17 Chief Justices since 1789.

Roberts came on the court as a “moderate conservative”, appointed by George W. Bush in 2005 right after Chief Justice William Rehnquist died, and the day before Roberts was to begin hearings to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, replacing the retiring Sandra Day O’Connor.

Fate would have it that due to the death of the Chief Justice, suddenly Roberts would be elevated to a special status of being the leader of the Court.

Roberts came across for many years as “reasonable”, including when he “saved” the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) in a court decision in 2013.

Roberts always spoke of the need for balance and reasonableness, but in reality, that was a false, misleading image of him.

Now, 20 years in, Roberts is revealed as a phony, who has moved the Court toward the extreme Right, and shocked people with statements in recent years that reveal just how Right Wing he is.

For instance, he has said that racism is no longer an issue, which is totally preposterous and outrageous.

He has led a Court that has brought Donald Trump to have awesome power and has undermined the separation of powers, and he has contributed to what is becoming an authoritarian and Fascist Presidency, undermining American democracy and the rule of law.

So Roberts will go down in history as a tragedy and disaster, and his reputation long term will be in tatters!

And now, the Voting Rights Act is being challenged in the Court, which could destroy the idea of representation for minorities, and making the possibility of a white dominated House of Representatives, that could make the Republican Party dominant into the future.

And if that happens in this Supreme Court term, the Roberts Court will have sealed its reputation of returning American to the time of JIM CROW, and white supremacy, which was overcome by the Civil Rights Movement and the massive positive contribution of President Lyndon B. Johnson and the “Great Society” in the 1960s!

“Like Father, Like Son” NOT The Case With RFK Jr. And Andrew Cuomo!

The old saying–“Like Father, Like Son” is certainly NOT the case when one reflects on two very controversial political figures—Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., presently the Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Donald Trump—and Andrew Cuomo, former New York Governor (2011-2021), and presently running as an Independent for New York City Mayor, after losing the Democratic primary to State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani.

It is very clear that if Robert F. Kennedy, former Attorney General of the United States (1961-1964), New York Senator (1965-1968), and Democratic Presidential contender for the 1968 Presidential election, before being tragically assassinated, were alive today, he would be shocked at what has happened in the life of his son, who has been a denier of science and health, and has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, along with a very loose and disgraceful sexual abuse behavior over many decades. RFK Jr. has demonstrated how unstable he is in his dangerous mental state, willing to undermine public health and promote his own financial assets, while showing no concern for women’s rights and the significance of vaccines in preventing mass disease and death!

It is also very clear that Mario Cuomo, former New York Governor (1983-1995), with a reputation of decency and honesty, who many observers hoped he would run for President in 1992, were alive today, he would be shocked at the arrogant, entitled, and morally corrupt record of his older son. Andrew Cuomo was forced out of the Governorship on allegations of sexual harassment, as well as blunders made during the Covid 19 Pandemic crisis. Andrew Cuomo also has demonstrated willingness to collaborate with Donald Trump against the best interests of New York City and New York State.

Ironically, the late Robert F. Kennedy would reach the age of 100 on November 20, were he alive, sharing that birthday with President Joe Biden, who will be age 83 on that date a month from now. And Biden, in the White House, had a bust of RFK on his desk, always visible, as he considered the father of RFK Jr to be his political hero and idol. But RFK Jr. has repudiated his family’s legacy in his crazed state of mind, and apparently, there are rumors that he is considering a run for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2028, when he would be nearing 75, and already looks in a horrible aging condition!

And the odds of Andrew Cuomo, somehow, pulling victory out of his defeat in the Democratic Mayoral primary, a few weeks from now, seems highly delusional. And if somehow that was to occur, it would NOT be for the best future of New York City!

The Issue Of “Age” In Upcoming Midterm Elections In 2026

The US Congress, in both chambers, is the oldest in age of any period of American history, and the issue of whether it is time for members in their 70s, 80s, and beyond to move on, and allow a younger generation better able to relate to the future, to be replacing them.

David Hogg of Florida, who was a Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, caused controversy in promoting such change, and he was pushed out, and is working with others to challenge many older, longer serving members in upcoming primaries for the 2026 Congressional Elections.

And the issue has come to the forefront, particularly, in the state of Maine, where Democratic Governor Janet Mills, age 77, is challenging sitting Republican Senator Susan Collins, who will have served for 30 years in the upper chamber, and is presently 72 years old.

So Graham Plattner, age 41, an oyster famer and Marine Corp veteran, is challenging Janet Mills, with the issue of age being a crucial one.

And Maine already has Senator Angus King, who just won reelection at age 80 in 2024, and Vermont has Bernie Sanders, who won reelection in 2024 at age 83.

But there are other such cases, as with Democratic Senator Ed Markey of Massacusetts, age 80, who has served a half century combined in the House of Representatives until 2013, and since then in the Senate. Congressman Seth Moulton, age 47, is arguing that while Markey has been an excellent leader for Massachusetts, it is time for change.

Other Democratic Senators of advanced age are retiring, including Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, and New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Also Republican Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is retiring in 2026.

But there are others who are over 70 and choosing to run for reelection, or planning to when the next elecion for their seat takes place, including Ron Wyden of Oregon and Chuck Schumer of New York in 2028.

Also, in the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi of California, Steny Hoyer of Maryland, Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, and Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, the fist three past leaders in the chamber, are running again in 2026, despite their being in their 80s. And Republican Senator and President Pro Tempore Chuck Grassley also could run for reelection in 2028, although at present, he is 92 years old!

It would seem legitimate that these older political leaders would finally give up their positions, and allow for the future generation to take over Congress.

With One Month To Go, Virginia And New Jersey Gubernatorial Races Seem Safe For Democrats!

With one month to go until the only two state Gubernatorial elections of 2025 in Virginia and New Jersey, signs seem clear that the Democrats are in very good shape.

This is not a time to “rest on laurels”, but Abigail Spanberger in Virginia and Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey are ahead of their Republican opponents, more so the case in Virginia.

Both are women with military careers and national security backgrounds, and their opponents are horrendous alternatives, particularly so in Virginia.

Spanberger served in the CIA, and Sherrill was a Naval Aviator.

So hopefully, there will be a continuation of a “Blue Wave”, which has been showing up in less publicized races to fill state legislative seats and other local races, or House of Representatives vacancies, across America.

Ironic That James Comey Actually “Helped” Trump Win In 2016, And Now Indicted By Trump Administration!

There are so many ironies about Donald Trump, but one of the most amazing is that Trump has no regard for someone who, unwittingly, helped him become President.

As head of the FBI in 2016, Comey, a registered Republican, announced an investigation of Hillary Clinton, which he then dropped 11 days later, but the damage was done.

Despite Clinton’s winning the popular vote by 2.85 million votes over Donald Trump, it was not enough to stop Trump in the Electoral College, making him the fourth time that a popular vote loser won the Presidency in the Electoral College.

Trump was not happy with James Comey, and fired him early in his first term, but now is attempting to bring him to a conviction based on flimsy evidence, forcing his politicized Justice Department under Attorney General Pam Bondi to indict him, as has just occurred.

This will be an interesting legal challenge for James Comey, but the odds of Donald Trump seeing a conviction of the former FBI head is quite remote!

It should remind Trump supporters in Congress that Trump will stop at nothing in his quest to be an authoritarian dictator!

Kamala Harris Memoir Burns Bridges, Likely Insures End Of Political Career!

Former Vice President Kamala Harris, by publishing a memoir with strong statements about many political leaders she has worked with, is likely burning her bridges, making it highly doubtful that she will ever again hold public office.

History records that once a Presidential nominee has lost election to the White House, the odds are extremely high that such individual will never be President.

There are only six cases of a defeated Presidential nominee going on to be elected President–three before the Civil War, once in the Gilded Age, once in the mid 20th century, and finally, Donald Trump.

Two of the cases–Grover Cleveland and Donald Trump– won the Presidency, then lost, and then returned, so unusual and special cases. In the case of Cleveland, he won in 1884, lost in 1888, and won in 1892. Trump won in 2016, lost in 2020, and won in 2024.

The three before the Civil War were Thomas Jefferson, who lost in 1796 and won in 1800; Andrew Jackson, who lost in 1824, and won in 1828; and William Henry Harrison, who lost in 1836 and won in 1840.

Finally, Richard Nixon lost in 1960, but then won in 1968 and 1972.

So the odds of Harris coming back are very low, but additionally, by being critical of Joe and Jill Biden and the Biden Staff, and stating her reasons for not selecting Josh Shapiro or Pete Buttigieg as her Vice Presidential running mate instead of Tim Walz, has caused controversy and a sense of anger by those individuals and others.

And it is generally well known that Kamala Harris was not an easy person to work for, losing staff regularly in the Senate and the Vice Presidency.

One gets the feeling from her appearance on Rachel Maddow, and on “The View”, that she does not seem to have the “fire in the belly” to compete in another strenuous Presidential campaign.

It would have been easier for Harris to have run for California Governor, with assurance of an easy victory, and a major role in the largest state’s impact in reaction to Donald Trump and the Republican Party, just like Gavin Newsom is now waging.

So it seems clear this is the end of any serious “comeback” by Kamala Harris to national politics.

Instead, she is on a major speaking tour to promote her book, and to spread the argument of strong opposition to the horrors of Donald Trump, but not a formal national or state role in that effort.
