First Session Of January 6 House Committee Hearings Makes Clear Donald Trump Guilt In Insurrection!

The January 6 House Committee, investigating the January 6, 2021 Insurrection at the US Capitol, had its first public session last night.

It was gripping, detailed, and compelling, and anyone who cares about American democracy would clearly see that there is no doubt of the guilt of Donald Trump in the worst crime ever perpetrated by any President of the United States!

The Republican Party has become a cult around a very sick, demented, dangerous man, with only a small percentage of those in Congress and in state government positions putting the Constitution and rule of law ahead of their own personal ambitions!

Action needs to be taken as the nation is in a constitutional crisis that may be worse than the Civil War, if nothing is done to stop the extreme Fascism that Trump and most Republicans in Congress represent!

Doug Mastriano: Authoritarian Christian Nationalist Election Denier A Massive Threat!

Pennsylvania and the nation at large has a new threat to American democracy, in the nomination of Doug Mastriano as the Republican Gubernatorial nominee for the upcoming state election in November.

Mastriano is a far right authoritarian Christian nationalist, a retired US Army Colonel, who is a Donald Trump loyalist, and has promoted the “Big Lie”, that Trump won the Presidential Election of 2020 over President Joe Biden.

He was present at the January 6, 2021 US Capitol Insurrection, and breached barriers set up by the US Capitol Police, although he did not enter the Capitol during the riot and bloodshed that followed.

Mastriano was subpoenaed by the January 6 House Committee on February 22, to explain his involvement with Trump, but has not responded to the subpoena.

He has indicated that he will, if elected Pennsylvania Governor, appoint a Secretary of State who will insure that the electoral votes of the Keystone state go to Trump or whoever is the Republican nominee in the Presidential Election of 2024, no matter what the popular vote results are.

He has also promoted the idea of limiting voting, and outlawing abortion in all circumstances, including rape, incest, and even life of the mother. He invokes Christian religious rhetoric, and has promoted conspiracy theories. He has also limited media ability to cover his public events. There are many Republicans who think he is an direct threat to their party’s success in the Fall elections, due to his clearcut extremism.

Matriano also resisted the promotion of masking to deal with the COVID 19 Pandemic, and has demonstrated that he is very dangerous in his views on public health matters.

It is essental that Democratic Gubernatorial nominee Josh Shapiro, presently the Attorney General, defeat Mastriano in the upcoming election, as Mastriano is perceived as a “clear and present danger” to the state of Pennsylvania and American democracy!

The Danger Of Kevin McCarthy Being Two Heartbeats Away From The Presidency In 2023

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California has engaged in a great coverup regarding the events of January 6, 2021, but we have now learned that he was ready to promote the resignation of Donald Trump, until he changed his mind and caved in to Trump.

McCarthy has led a campaign to defeat Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, the only Republicans to show courage and join the January 6 House Committee investigating the horrible events of that day.

With the exception of a small group of other House Republicans who joined Cheney and Kinzinger in supporting impeachment of Donald Trump for his rhetoric and actions on January 6, the party has engaged in a coverup.

Kevin McCarthy so desperately wants to be Speaker of the House that he has shown himself to be a coward in promoting the “Big Lie” about his involvement and interaction around the events of that day.

The danger now is that McCarthy, were he to become Speaker of the House, would disgrace that office, as he has no principles, ethics, or morals, and is willing to sell his soul to Donald Trump!

The nightmare scenario about Kevin McCarthy is that if was to become Speaker of the House, he would be two heartbeats away from the Presidency, as under the Presidential Succession Act of 1947, the only people standing in the way of the Presidency are President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris!

Even worse is the possibility that someone far worse than even McCarthy, such as Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan or others who are equally reprehensible, could become Speaker in place of McCarthy!

It is essential that the Republicans NOT win the majority in the House of Representatives, as that would also mean the end of the investigation into the most dangerous threat to the US Capitol and American government stability since the War of 1812!

Seven Hours Of Donald Trump Phone Log Of January 6 Insurrection Missing

THe House January 6, 2021 US Capitol Insurrection investigation continues, and it has been discovered that there is a gap of seven hours of the Donald Trump White House Phone Log on that day.

It is known that Trump spoke to Vice President Mike Pence; Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville; and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and clearly there were other phone calls back and forth between Trump and many Republicans.

The committee is pursuing the gaining of information about these phone calls, as they are crucial to understanding Donald Trump’s reaction to the events of January 6 at the US Capitol.

Jared Kushner, the son in law of Trump, married to Ivanka Trump, will be questioned by the committee on Wednesday, and it will be interesting to see what comes from this, since the daughter of the President was in the White House on that day, although Kushner was not in Washington, DC but certainly knows what transpired through his wife. The odds are not much will be gained from the interview, but we shall see.

The former President has been working to prevent disclosure of his words and actions on that fateful day, but it is hoped evidence can be gathered to insure that Trump is prosecuted for his treasonous and seditious actions on January 6!

CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) A Mockery Of Conservatism And The Party Of Lincoln!

The annual CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) took place for four days last week in Orlando, Florida, the home of three of the absolutely worst political leaders imaginable–Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator and former Governor Rick Scott, and Senator Marco Rubio!

White Supremacists and lovers of Vladimir Putin, who is waging war on Ukraine, dominated the four days of speeches, and showed just how authoritarian oriented these so called conservatives are, who have made a mockery of conservatism and the party of Lincoln!

There was no support of the brave Ukranians, fighting against the most dangerous man on the planet, Vladimir Putin, but lunatic support of Donald Trump, the most dangerous man in America, who keeps his legions of supporters loyal to his anti democratic, anti NAT0 and Fascist authoritarianism, which waged war on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021!

The CPAC poll for the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination had Trump winning 59 percent of the vote, to Ron DeSantis and 28 percent, second year in a row of CPAC still supporting the traitor and seditionist Donald Trump!

The true conservatives—the Lincoln Project—and such leaders as Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Larry Hogan, Charlie Baker, Chris Sununu, along with fellow former Republicans outside of government—are working to undermine the Trump legions, and save the party future!

On 89th Anniversary Of Hitler Taking Power, Donald Trump Promotes Further Violence And Sedition!

Donald Trump, the authoritarian Fascist, on the 89th anniversary of Adolf Hitler taking power, threatened the nation with further violence and sedition, if he runs for President in 2024, and fails to win the election.

This led to criticism by some Republicans, including Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Senator Susan Collins of Maine, and New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu on the Sunday news programs.

But will the mass of Republicans in the House and Senate and governorships and other positions join them, and insure that the Electoral Count Act of 1887 will be updated to prevent any possibility of another constitutional crisis as we had on January 6, 2021?

The concept that Trump promotes that he would give pardons to the January 6 insurrectionists is a true travesty of justice and of the sacrifices of the Capitol Police on that day!

The horrific scenes of violence and destruction perpetrated on that day by traitors to the Constitution, who refused to endorse the Electoral College results, and incited the crazies to come out and engage in armed insurrection, must be prevented against by all means necessary!

The Major Goals For 2022: Accountability For Donald Trump, Voting Rights Insured, And Biden Agenda Accomplished!

As the year 2021 comes to an end, the major goals for 2022 are clear!

First, there MUST be accountability for the sins and crimes of Donald Trump and his seditionist supporters of January 6, and that includes proper punishment for the Congressmen and Senators who supported Trump during and after the attack on the US Capitol. So the Republican Party must be purged of its treasonous elements, and expulsion and prosecution must occur!

Second, voting rights must be insured, by changing the filibuster, as voting is the most basic right every American citizen has, other than freedom and liberty itself!

Third, the Joe Biden Agenda, as expressed in the Build Back Better bill, must be passed, maybe in modified form, but essential for the promotion of the middle class and the poor!

Despite the many challenges Joe Biden faces in 2022, this author and blogger senses that the US Senate will go majority Democratic, and that the House of Representatives, after reapportionment of seats, and even with the sin of gerrymandering, is likely to be evened out in such a way that the Democratic Party has a good chance of retaining the House majority. To allow the seditionist, treasonous majority of the House Republicans to gain control, and whitewash the US Capitol Insurrection, would be true destruction of democracy, and every decent person must resist that to the extreme degree during this upcoming year!

The year also brings the continued danger of the COVID 19 Pandemic; high inflationary pressures; continued climate change and global warming challenges; and the mental health crisis facing the nation.

And threats of war and bloodshed create a massive challenge as well, particularly regarding Russia and Ukraine, and China and Taiwan.

So there will be plenty to worry about and write about in the next year, and I wish the best to all my readers in the new year 2022!

These members of the House Freedom Caucus together conspired to stage a coup and deny Joe Biden the Electoral College victory he clearly and honestly won!

They had contact with Donald Trump and his conspirators who were trying to force Vice President Mike Pence to throw out legitimate votes in several states, and flip the Electoral College vote count on January 6 to Trump!

These six culprits spread conspiracy theories in the two months before January 6, and poisoned the truth, causing massive numbers of Trump supporters to be riled up and decide to attack the US Capitol, with Donald Trump and many around him, besides these six House members, promoting an overthrow of constitutional government and undermining American democracy!

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, himself a former member of the House Freedom Caucus, was intimately involved in emails, phone calls, and personal meetings with these conspirators and others!

The “Stop the Steal” movement was unpatriotic, illegal, unethical, and immoral, and the “Big Lie” continues eleven months later!

And we cannot forget that 139 House Republicans and 8 Republican Senators refused to accept the legal process and accurate Electoral College result, and all of these 147 Republicans should face expulsion and prosecution for their undermining of the rule of law!

Congressmen Adam Schiff (California)And Jamie Raskin (Maryland): Two Courageous, Principled Legislators!

Two of the most outstanding, principled members of Congress serve on the January 6 House Committee investigating the US Capitol Insurrection, and both were involved in one or the other impeachments of Donald Trump in December 2019 and January 2021.

California Congressman Adam Schiff has served in Congress since 2001, and was the lead manager in the first Trump impeachment investigation in 2019, and is the Chair of the House Intelligence Committee. He represents part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin has served in Congress since 2017, and was the lead manager in the second Trump Impeachment investigation in January 2021. He represents Montgomery County, in the suburbs of Washington, DC.

Both men are courageous and totally decent, models of what all members of Congress should be like, but sadly, so many are not such!

Eighty Years Since “The Day Of Infamy”–Pearl Harbor Attack In 1941!

Today, December 7, marks 80 years since “The Day of Infamy”, the attack by Imperial Japan on the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, which ushered America into World War II, and the beginning of world leadership for the United States!

There are only a small percentage of veterans who were in Hawaii at that time still alive, and overall, a small percentage of Americans in the military eighty years ago who are still alive, as one would have to be, at the minimum, 98 years of age or older today!

Pearl Harbor remains one of the three worst moments of threat to American national security, joined much later by the Al Qaeda attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, and then by the Donald Trump incited mob attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021!

In the long run, the January 6 attack will be seen as the greatest threat ever, as it was domestic terrorism, NOT foreign terrorism, and Japan and Al Qaeda did not, in the long run, remain a “clear and present danger” as domestic terrorism remains such for the future of American democracy!

And only January 6 represented a President conspiring against his own nation, unlike Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1941 and George W. Bush in 2001!
