Donald Trump First Indicted President, And More Is To Come!

Former President Donald Trump has been indicted in the “Stormy Daniels” case in New York City.

He is the first President to face indictment, and there will be more indictments, including likely in Georgia over interference with the vote count in the Presidential Election of 2020; in the case of the government documents at his home in Mar A Lago in Florida; and the US Capitol Insurrection of January 6, 2021.

Trump was twice impeached, and had a bipartisan vote in the US Senate on that, the first time that has ever occurred.

Trump can still be prevented from running for the Presidency, if only the 14th Amendment, Section 3, is invoked, as it was for Confederate traitors in the Reconstruction Era!

It is time for Republicans to save whatever limited dignity they have, and stop backing this criminal former President!

Sadly, it is now clear that the Republicans are willing to go down with Trump!

Ten States Refuse To Expand Medicaid, No Concern About Health Care For Millions!

North Carolina just became, finally, the 40th state to expand Medicaid for its poorer, less fortunate citizens!

It is mind boggling that TEN states, mostly Southern, refuse to care about health care for millions of their populations combined.

These states are:

Florida
Texas
South Carolina
Georgia
Tennessee
Alabama
Mississippi
Wisconsin
Kansas
Wyoming

This needs to be emphasized for those states that are likely to have Republican Presidential contenders, including Florida (Ron DeSantis), Texas (Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz), and South Carolina (Nikki Haley, Tim Scott).

It is unconscionable that Republicans who are supposedly “pro life” on abortion have no concern about the lives of their poor constituents!

It is a crime against humanity, and should be rectified!

Republicans, Guns, And The Culture Wars

After the latest of tragedy after tragedy involving gun massacres in schools, shopping malls, churches, synagogues, supermarkets, movie theaters, holiday parades, and innumerable other locations, causing a mounting death toll and scarring the lives of survivors, including children who cannot feel safe, what do Republicans say?

They claim there is nothing that they can do, while accepting massive donations from the gun industry and the evil National Rifle Association!

Repbulicans are more concerned about:

limiting school curriculums and libraries;

on barring drag shows and drag queens;

on use of “proper” pronouns being used for those who are transgender individuals;

censoring art, such as the Statue of David by Michelangelo;

encouraging antisemitism;

promoting racism;

taking away rights of women over their own bodies;

and claiming to promote “freedom” while endorsing the violence of January 6 Insurrectionists who are in Washington DC Jails!

Individuals in Congress, such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, James Comer, Jim Jordan, and a multitude of others who refused to support the results of the Presidential Election of 2020, and continue to support Donald Trump and his hateful promotion of continued bloodshed and violence, now, will not support any action against the scourge of gun violence.

Law enforcement supports such legislation, as it affects their daily safety!

Such members of Congress should be prosecuted and expelled as seditionists and traitors!

Parental Interference With Educational Curriculum MUST Be Overcome, As NOT Qualified To Interfere!

Right wing reactionaries and religious extremists are interfering with Educational Curriculum in many states in public schools and even universities!

Parents who are ignorant and biased want to control curriculum, without any expertise in subject matter in most cases!

Parents can remove their child from certain activities, but do not have the right to interfere and force their ignorant will on everyone else!

At universities, parents should have ZERO interference, since college students are adults, and parents should have no say!

Parents do not have the right to dictate to attorneys, doctors, and other professionals, and the same should apply to those educators at all levels, who devote their lives to promotion of an open mind and exposure to alternative ideas!

Parents trying to dictate are like those in a mental institution wanting to run the facility, and no politician should be encouraging reckless interference in the promotion of truth and facts!

13 Year Anniversary Of Obama Care (Affordable Care Act)!

We have reached the 13 year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (Obama Care), which despite vehement Republican opposition, and multiple attempts to repeal the legislation, survives today.

It has transformed the lives of millions of Americans whose lives have been saved, despite their being poor and low income.

And North Carolina has just become the 40th state to expand Medicaid, the program begun by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966, but with 10 states, including the megastates of Florida and Texas still resisting helping the poor and disadvantaged to be able to acquire health care.

Conservatives and Republicans have no concern about human life, other than fetuses being born, but they still promote denial of health care, and promote expansion of gun violence, by refusing to support any gun regulations, a true outrage!

And today, we had another mass loss of life in an attack by a woman against a religious elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee, as the number of victims of gun assaults multiply daily!

Any intelligent, caring human being understands that conservatives and Republicans, if they had their way, would obliterate not only Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, but also Medicare and Social Security!

MAGA House Republicans Visit Criminal Insurrectionists In DC Jail!

The MAGA House Republicans, who are beyond the pale in their behavior, visited criminal Insurrectionists who were engaged in the January 6, 2021 US Capitol attack a couple of days ago.

Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, and about 20 others, claimed these insurrectionists were “political prisoners”, and complained about their jail conditions.

But two Democrats who went with the Republicans to monitor the situation–Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett of Texas and Congressman Robert Garcia of California–made clear that the conditions of the DC jail are far superior to the general jail and prison conditions in most American states, and particularly in southern states.

These same MAGA Republicans also are pressuring, illegally, that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg testify about the “Stormy Daniels” case against Donald Trump, which seems likely to lead to an indictment.

This is totally illegal, for Congress to intervene in local investigations and prosecutions.

The fact that MAGA Republicans are still willing to back Donald Trump no matter what the circumstances is a development that is very worrisome.

And the fact that Donald Trump is still seen as the favorite for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2024, even over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, is horrifying and a sign that American democracy is under dire threat!

Donald Trump Speech In Waco, Texas A Provocation, And Should Be Canceled!

Donald Trump is about to give a provocative speech in Waco, Texas, on Saturday night, around the anniversary of the right wing tragedy of thirty years ago, when federal agents engaged with the followers of the lunatic David Koresh and his Branch Davidian Cult.

This tragic event in 1993 led to right wing extremist Timothy McVeigh to plot to blow up the Oklahoma City federal building in 1995.

Waco is a touchstone for the Far Right, and portends the promotion of violence by groups like the Proud Boys and the Oathkeepers.

Conspiracy theorists, and those who preach that Donald Trump is the word of God coming to save the nation and its future, causes great concern about security and safety.

The incitement of violence and bloodshed by Trump is, sadly, a sign of further troubles ahead, and the speech should be canceled as a “Clear and Present Danger”, under the Schenck V US case of 1919.

Donald Trump has caused mayhem and havoc since his announcement for President in June 2015.

He believes he is above the law, and will stop at nothing to undermine American democracy and the rule of law.

He is under investigation on multiple matters, and has threatened retribution against all prosecutors and investigations.

But now, he has gone ever further, threatening “death and destruction” against all those who pursue the rule of law.

It is time to say, “Enough is enough”, as he is inciting, by his rhetoric, bloodshed and violence, as he did on January 6, 2021, with the attack on the US Capitol.

Trump needs to be arrested and incarcerated as a “Clear and Present Danger”, as his so called “freedom of speech” is undermining American stability and national security!

Donald Trump is the ultimate “domestic terrorist”!

No one else could escape accountability for such incendiary rhetoric, so time for action, not words!

Ron DeSantis Changes His View On The Russian Federation For Political Survival!

It is interesting that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has suddenly changed his view on the Russian Federation, now calling Vladimir Putin a “war criminal”, and backing away from saying the Russia-Ukraine War is simply “a territorial dispute”.

This was clearly done due to the strong opposition expressed by many Republicans, particularly in the US Senate, but it is clear DeSantis is just trying to improve his political position, and cannot be trusted on what he says.

DeSantis is very much an egotist, who thinks he is best qualified, due to his promotion of taking away the rights of gays, lesbians, and transgenders; women; racial minorities; teachers; librarians; medical doctors; and even elected prosecutors!

His is an ugly candidacy, and lately, he has lost support in public opinion polls.

America can do better than Ron DeSantis in the White House!

Ulysses S. Grant “Arrested” While President, So Trump Would NOT Be The First!

In the midst of the hoopla around Donald Trump, that he might soon face arrest, the historical reality is that he would not be the first President to be arrested.

Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President (1869-1877) was arrested in the nation’s capital in 1872 for speeding his horse and carriage.

A black police officer, William West, who had fought in the Civil War, was the police officer who arrested Grant, and his horse and carriage were impounded, and Grant had to walk back to the White House, and pay a small fine!

There were other incidents of Grant racing his horse and carriage, and with additional fines.

Of course, the possible arrest and prosecution of Donald Trump on various issues and matters is far greater and more significant than Grant’s racing issues with his horses and carriage one hundred fifty years ago!
