The Republican Party Declares War On Law Enforcement And National Security!

The Republican Party, Donald Trump loyalists, and Fox News Channel have declared war on law enforcement and national security, threatening action to destroy the FBI, Department of Justice, and Department of Homeland Security, over the legitimate action of removing national security and other government documents wrongfully taken by Donald Trump to his Florida estate, Mar A Lago, when he left office 19 months ago!

It is shocking to see the reaction of a large slew of Republicans, including, among others:

Marco Rubio
Ted Cruz
Rand Paul
Josh Hawley
Tom Cotton
Kevin McCarthy
Jim Jordan
Elise Stefanik
Newt Gingrich

They and numerous others are promoting violence and potential civil war, and it is clear that they have become the Fascist Party, with the desire to install Donald Trump as the dictator of the US, with the plan to wipe out these government agencies!

Death threats are emanating, with the fear that top government officials to the highest level, may be subjected to assassination threats, a horrifying thought!

Another January 6th is a possibility, an attack on the US Capitol or other government buildings by an armed mob, with domestic terrorism being inflamed further by Donald Trump and his minions!

Despite Critics, Joe Biden Has Accomplished More Than Any President Since LBJ!

President Joe Biden has many critics, including those who think he should not run for reelection in 2024 due to his age.

But with recent successes, and adding to what was accomplished earlier, and despite strong attacks by Republicans, Joe Biden has actually accomplished more in domestic affairs than any President since Lyndon B. Johnson six decades ago!

The amazing difference is that Biden has had to work with a 50-50 US Senate, only the fourth time we have had an evenly divided Senate, unlike what LBJ had in the 1960s and Franklin D. Roosevelt had in the 1930s!

His long experience in the US Senate, and his ability to communicate, has led to results no one could have predicted.

Additionally, his success in unifying NATO, and gaining support for Finland and Sweden to join the alliance, make the US safer, and the world safer.

And support of Ukraine in the Russian war on that nation has made Russia lose massive numbers of troops.

Just imagine if Donald Trump was President!

The domestic successes of Biden would never have been accomplished, and Trump would have supported Russia against Ukraine, and almost certainly, would have taken America out of NATO!

August 8, 1974 And August 8, 2022: Irony Of Timing On Richard Nixon And Donald Trump!

In an amazing coincidence, 48 years apart, history occurred on August 8, 1974, and once again on August 8, 2022!

Richard Nixon announced his resignation from the Presidency on August 8, 1974, and left office the following morning, succeeded by Gerald Ford, with Republicans having helped to “push him out the door”, indicating loss of support in a possible impeachment trial.

Donald Trump’s Mar A Lago mansion was searched by the FBI last night, looking for documents of national security significance taken by Trump when he left the White House, and many not having been returned since, as required by the National Archives.

This is a serious matter, authorized by a federal judge and the Department of Justice under Attorney General Merrick Garland, and is not to be taken lightly.

Garland is a responsible, competent Attorney General, unlike those who served under Donald Trump, and indicates a serious criminal conspiracy case is in action against former President Donald Trump.

But right away, the right wing extremists are on the attack against Garland and the Justice Department and the FBI, led by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Texas Senator Ted Cruz, along with the extremists at Fox News Channel.

The Republicans in Congress are, as a group, acting very irresponsibly in support of Trump, while a half century ago, they abandoned Nixon!

There is talk of violence and lawlessness occurring once again, and we are entering a dangerous time, with concern for the safety and security of leaders of the Joe Biden Administration.

This is a time for praying for stability and calm, but no one at this point can predict the future!

An Amazing Week For Joe Biden And Democrats!

The past week has been an amazing time for Joe Biden and the Democrats!

Many are saying it is the best week of Joe Biden’s Presidency, and accomplished by “Reconciliation”, meaning just on a party line vote in the US Senate.

All Democrats were finally united, and Vice President Kamala Harris cast the tie breaking vote against united Republican Party opposition to the Inflation Reduction Act, taking action on climate change, taxes, and health care.

While this is much less than the proposed “Build Back Better” proposals of a year ago, it is still seen as a major piece of legislation, and many observers have declared that, along with earlier legislation, it makes Joe Biden in many ways the most accomplished President on passage of major bills since Lyndon B. Johnson!

But also, in the past week, there was major job growth of more than a half million, double what was expected, and the job losses in the pandemic have now been totally wiped out!

The veterans health care legislation, to deal with exposure by millions of veterans to burn pits during their military service, finally was passed after a temporary reversal by many Republicans, but forced by criticism to reverse their negative votes.

Also, the successful elimination of Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri by action of the Central Intelligence Agency in Afghanistan was a significant action, for which the President gains kudos.

Also, gas prices have dropped for six weeks, and more than a dollar over that period, so in many areas below $4 a gallon.

And finally, the decision of Kansas voters to insure abortion rights remain in their state constitution is a major victory that will have an effect on the fight to overcome the Supreme Court’s horrendous decision in Dobbs V Jackson Women’s Health Organization on June 24!

43 States Would Vote For Abortion Rights If Given The Opportunity!

A study by the NY TIMES indicates that if the voting population of the 50 states were able to vote on whether abortion rights should be insured, that 43 states would vote in the affirmative, following the example of Kansas, a solidly Republican state, which last Tuesday by a vote of 59 percent, chose to keep abortion rights in the state Constitution!

Only seven states would vote to end abortion rights, including:

Alabama
Arkansas
Louisiana
Mississippi
Oklahoma
Utah
Wyoming

But even in four of those states, the support for abortion rights would be in the high 40s–49 percent in Arkansas and Utah and 48 percent in Oklahoma and Wyoming.

Support for abortion rights would be in the 70s in the Northeast and Pacific Coast states and much of the Mountain West; in the 60s in Pennsylvania, Virginia and most of the Midwest; and in the high 50s in Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota; and in the lower 50s in much of the South and Idaho and North Dakota.

What the Supreme Court did in late June, and what the so called “Pro Life” Movement has brought about after a half century of efforts, is anti Democracy, trying to impose its will on American women, despite overwhelming support for a woman’s right to choose to be pregnant, and control her body!

Looney Republican Women Running For Governor: Kari Lake And Tudor Dixon

The Republican Party has had looney women run for Congress and become an embarrassment, including, most recently, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boerbert of Colorado. But they have done little harm, other than to cause outrage, as they are a small element in the House of Representatives, who just make a lot of noise!

But now, we have looney women nominated for the Governorship of two states that were influential in the Presidential Election of 2020!

Arizona has Kari Lake as its nominee for Governor, and Michigan has Tudor Dixon as its nominee for Governor, and both are believers in the “Big Lie” that Donald Trump won the Presidential Election of 2020, and are unwilling to acknowledge that Joe Biden is the rightful winner of the Presidency.

Both Lake and Dixon make it clear they will do everything possible to deny the Democrats the electoral votes of their states in 2024, even if the Democratic Presidential nominee wins the popular votes in their states.

So both Lake and Dixon are deniers of reality, and are a threat to democracy’s continuation in their states!

Interestingly, both states will have a Democratic woman running against these looney Republican women.

Arizona will have Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who insured despite threats, that Arizona had legitimately voted for Joe Biden in 2020, and is now the Democratic nominee for the Governorship.

And Michigan has the very courageous Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who was threatened by extremists in the state in the past few years, but stood tall and principled, and is running for a second term as Governor.

It is urgent that Arizona and Michigan elect these two competent, decent women over the lunatic and dangerous women that the Republican Party has foisted on the people of these states!

Right Wing Anti Democracy Extremists: CPAC Convention This Weekend In Dallas, Texas

CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) has been having annual conferences since 1974, and it brings together famous conservative political activists.

However, CPAC has become much more extremist right wing in recent years, and is very different in its advocacy now as compared to a half century ago.

It has become an authoritarian, Fascist oriented party, with loyalty to Donald Trump and the “Big Lie”, that he won the Presidential Election of 2020, not Joe Biden.

And most Republicans continue to support Donald Trump.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a full blown Fascist with anti immigrant, white supremcaist, homophobic, and misogynistic policies, was the big “hero” of the first day of the four day conference that began on Thursday.

The Republican Party is making it very clear to anyone who has a brain!

THey are against basic programs that Americans rely on, and have had for many decades!

Florida Senator Rick Scott and Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson are leading the charge to end Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Benefits over a five year period!

But it is not just these two Senators, but the reality is that the party philosophy never liked what Franklin D. Roosevelt (the New Deal) and Lyndon B. Johnson (The Great Society) did, anymore than willing to accept the Affordable Care Act of President Barack Obama!

So the answer is to war on the Republican Party, which has gone too far to the far Right, including wanting to force women to have every pregnancy to term!

This is a battle for the future of America, and there can be no prisoners, just victories!

Abortion Rights Gain Massive Victory In Kansas, Making It An Issue In November Elections!

In the wake of the shocking Supreme Court decision in Dobbs V Jackson Women’s Health Organization in June, reversing Roe V Wade and abortion rights, yesterday Kansas, a strong Republican and conservative state, chose to continue to keep abortion rights in the state constitution.

The vote was 59 percent to 41 percent, and the turnout was twice the normal amount in a midterm primary in Kansas, 900,000 votes, instead of about 450,000 votes.

This gives hope that abortion rights will be a major issue in November, and help Democrats keep control of Congress and win many state election contests.

Women, young people, and educated suburbanites are seen as outraged by the Supreme Court taking away a right granted 49 years ago, and hopefully, abortion rights will be protected after the election, as pro choice people are going to fight tooth and nail in every state, as they just did in the “Sunflower State”!

Today’s Primaries Are Crucial For The Future

Five states are holding primaries today, and they are crucial for the future.

In Kansas, those who vote can insure the continuation of abortion rights, or make Kansas a backward, oppressive state.

In Missouri, we could end up having a former governor, Eric Greitens, accused of sexual and physical abuse of others, including his former wife and children, become the Republican nominee for the US Senate!

There are primaries for three Republican House members who voted to impeach Donald Trump, one in Michigan, and two in Washington state.

And Arizona looks as if it is on the way to nomination of Republicans who are promoters of the “Big Lie”, that Donald Trump won the Presidential Election of 2020, not President Joe Biden.

This is a scary, troubling time, and could portend greater grief and suffering in the future!
