A Lincoln-Douglas Style Debate In New Hampshire: Newt Gingrich Vs. Jon Huntsman Later In December!

A very interesting two man debate will be occurring later in December in New Hampshire, with the opponents being former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, first in most public opinion polls right now, and former Utah Governor and Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman, running last or close to last in most polls.

It would seem that there would be no purpose to such a debate for Gingrich, who fancies himself as a great debater, a brilliant intellectual, and boasts that the odds are great that he will be the GOP nominee for President.

But Gingrich will have a tough competitor in Jon Huntsman, who is superior in his knowledge on foreign policy over any other GOP candidate, and has a strong record of CONSISTENCY in his views on domestic matters. He is certainly the long term “dark horse” in the GOP race, hoping to emerge in New Hampshire and go on to Florida and beyond.

This author has been saying for a long time that Huntsman is the only truly viable candidate for the Republican Party, so this is his chance to shine and excel, and make Gingrich, the boaster, the braggart, the “windbag”, look bad!

This is of more value than the eight way debates that have been going on, and the whole concept of a Lincoln-Douglas debate is thrilling in so many ways!

And note that Mitt Romney has refused a Gingrich offer for a similar debate! And for sure, Romney would refuse a similar two way debate with Jon Huntsman!

Third Party Speculation Multiplying: Donald Trump, Ron Paul, Buddy Roemer, Jon Huntsman, Michael Bloomberg!

It is now eleven months to the Presidential Election Of 2012, and one month to the Iowa Caucuses and the New Hampshire Primary.

We are now facing great dissatisfaction with the Republican candidates for President, and at the same time, unhappiness with President Barack Obama.

So speculation is rampant about THIRD PARTY candidates, and the number of possible candidates keeps on growing!

Donald Trump has hinted that if he is not happy with the GOP nominee, he might run as an Independent!

Texas Congressman Ron Paul, who has been dismissed by many in the party but is still running, has also hinted he might go a third party route, which he actually did for the Libertarian Party in 1988.

Buddy Roemer, former Democratic Governor Of Louisiana and Congressman as well, switched parties, but was not allowed to participate in any Republican debates. Now he suggests he might run as an Independent on the AmericansElect organization line, which wants the people online to choose a President-Vice President team which consists of a Republican and Democrat running together.

Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, also past Ambassador to China, is being promoted to go a third party route by former New Jersey Governor Christie Todd Whitman, who deplores what is happening to the Republican Party, and Huntsman has indicated that he is unwilling to rule out a possible run. Without saying it, Huntsman, running on the AmericansElect party line with a Democrat for Vice President could be a formidable challenger!

And then, there is NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who claims he is not interested, wants to finish out his third term which ends at the close of the first year of the next Presidential term, and yet keeps on popping up in criticism of the party deadlock in Washington, DC, As an Independent with unlimited funds, he could be a formidable challenger, as much as Huntsman, and might be considered by the AmericansElect group online!

So the likelihood of one or more third party or independent runs for President in 2012 is great, but at the end, it will help Barack Obama if it occurs!

A Show NOT To Be Missed: The Trump Moderated Republican Presidential Debate In Des Moines, Iowa On December 27

For those who LOVE dramatics and want a good evening of laughter, tune in on the Ion Television network, available on most extended cable systems, on Tuesday, December 27, when Donald Trump will host and moderate a Republican Presidential debate in Des Moines, Iowa, one week before the Iowa Caucuses!

Cosponsored by NewsMax, a conservative news website and magazine, Trump plans to ask challenging questions, particularly on foreign policy, where he feels the United States needs to make clear that this nation will not be pushed around by China, Iran, Pakistan and other nations that he considers the enemy. He sounds ready to bomb and invade everywhere, and is joined in that by Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry in their boastfulness about how “masculine” they are! And it will be fun to see Ron Paul clash with Trump, since he is on the extreme opposite side on the issue of foreign intervention!

Trump also intends to endorse one of the candidates after the debate, but if that candidate fails to win the nomination, he is considering running as an Independent in the fall campaign! All the better as that will guarantee Barack Obama a second term in the White House!

As a sign of sanity and intelligence, the BEST qualified candidate in foreign policy and the truly ONLY reputable challenger to Barack Obama, former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, has already declined to participate in the debate, and has never been asked to meet Donald Trump in his offices in Manhattan. This makes Huntsman even more legitimate a candidate than ever, that he refuses to participate in what many consider to be a “political circus”!

The debate will certainly be enjoyable for political junkies, and particularly, it will be interesting to see how Mitt Romney handles himself with Trump.

It seems clear that the two major egotists, the two major “windbags”, the two major pompous braggarts, the two major self promoters–Trump and Newt Gingrich–should have a very interesting interaction, which is likely to cause raised eyebrows and tons of laughter at the concept of just how obnoxious can two “loose cannons” become? The question is whether the two men can sit in the same room and not feel threatened by the other!

So the major political event of all since the debate season began is going to entertain us during the holiday season! Enjoy and have a good time laughing and rolling one’s eyes!

The Ultimate Reason Why The Republican Party Will NOT Win The White House In 2012: Their Promotion Of Nativism, Prejudice, Bias, Fear, And The Interests Of The Super Wealthy!

When all is said and done, the Republican Party will NOT win the White House in 2012, no matter what the economic situation is next year, because of their promotion of nativism, prejudice, bias, fear, and the interests of the Super Wealthy!

The Republican Party promotes nativism against Hispanic and Latino immigrants with their advocacy of deporting 12 million undocumented immigrants, almost all law abiding, tax paying, and living here for many years, who just want the “American Dream”, and are willing to work hard.

The Republican Party advocates prejudice against gay people by advocating against gay rights, gay marriage, and gay parenting, due to their slavish connection to religious influence in government.

The Republican Party supports bias against women by denying them their human rights, including the decision when and how they can have children.

The Republican Party promotes fear of all people of Islamic heritage by their depiction of all people from that religious heritage as being potential terrorists.

The Republican Party supports the interests of the super wealthy by refusal to consider any tax increases on the top two percent, who have seen their wealth multiply in recent years, while everyone else saw their income stagnate or decline. They will do anything to support the rich and the corporations.

Has a political party ever won the White House with promotion of nativism, prejudice, bias, fear, and the interests of the wealthy? The answer is NO, with the borderline closest cases being Richard Nixon in 1968 and George W. Bush in 2004, but even they did not advocate these ugly concepts on the level of Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney in the campaign now being waged!

Notice that the only GOP candidate who has NOT promoted the above ideas is Jon Huntsman, by far the best and ONLY decent choice they offer the voters in 2012. Again, IF Huntsman were the nominee, it would be the most legitimate and closest race for the Presidency, but apparently, very unlikely to happen, as the author writes.

Mitt Romney: Starting To Show Testiness At Being Challenged, And By Fox News Channel Yet!

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, long seen as the frontrunner for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2012, has been having a rough time recently, after having performed well in the Republican debates.

Suddenly, Newt Gingrich has surged to first place in many polls, despite the many shortcomings the former House Speaker has It is clear that a majority of conservatives and Republicans have problems with Mitt Romney, and all along it has been clear that the search was for the anti-Romney alternative–first Donald Trump, then Michele Bachmann, then Rick Perry, then Herman Cain. Now it is Gingrich’s turn, and his years of experience and contacts make him a tougher opponent for Romney.

But beyond this bad news, Romney is now being challenged by Fox News Channel, which also is not thrilled by his candidacy. So when Bret Baier interviewed him this week, and asked tough questions and challenged him aggressively, Romney was taken aback and lashed out at Baier, and made it clear that he was dissatisfied.

Unfortunately, Romney needs to get used to strong challenges and tough questions, and from all kinds of media, not just conservative media. Romney has avoided major interviews shows, trying to ride on his 20-25 percent, mostly first place, standing in the public opinion polls.

If Romney thinks he can coast into the nomination and election, he has something he needs to learn. This is not going to be a “cakewalk”, and all his nasty attitude does is make one think that he thinks he is “entitled” to the nomination! He comes across as elitist and aristocratic, and that is not what the American people are looking for right now!

It is also not acceptable if a President Romney decides that because he does not like criticism, therefore he is not accountable to the media and the American people!

So Mitt Romney needs a major “reality check”!
