Pope Leo XIV Vs Donald Trump: No Match!

One does not have to be Catholic to see clearly that Pope Leo XIV is a moral, decent, compassionate religious figure, who promotes tolerance and condemns promotion of racism, nativism, bloodshed and violence.

So this new Pope, the first American Pope, has his hands full dealing with the reckless, dangerous, unstable President of the United States, Donald Trump, and his reckless Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.

The unforgivable Truth Social posting of Donald Trump, threatening the destruction of Iranian civilization, has, therefore, be rightfully condemned in a forthright manner by Pope Leo XIV, and the Pope clearly will NOT return to the nation of his birth while Donald Trump is President.

The idea that the Pope and the Catholic Church in Rome could be threatened, and the outrage of the Avignon Papacy of the Middle Ages be invoked by anyone around Donald Trump, is beyond the pale.

The misuse of religion by Trump, Hegseth, and others around the US government, is an obscenity, as nothing that they represent has anything to do with the teachings and beliefs of Jesus Christ.

And to claim that right wing white supremacist Christianity will be promoted, when there are so many alternative views of Christianity, plus other world religions, including Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism, is defying the basic belief of the American Revolution and the Constitution of the United States, which promotes separation of church and state.

Armageddon And Genocide Postponed, But Trump Is Danger And Threat To Entire World And MUST Be Removed From Office!

For the moment, the danger of Armageddon and Genocide has been postponed for two weeks, but Donald Trump remains a dire threat to the entire world with his diabolical threats against Iran.

This has nothing to do with supporting the Iranian government, which is evil and despicable, but the thought of exterminating an entire civilization, as threatened by the unhinged, unstable, erratic madman President of the United States, requires action to remove him before he decides to follow through on his reckless threats.

When you have right wing extremists such as Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones, all clearly dangerous advocates of extremism, taking a stand that Donald Trump needs to be removed from the Oval Office, it is clear that Donald Trump has gone much too far toward insanity.

And when Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, always an extremist right winger says the same, and more moderate Utah Senator John Curtis agrees on the need for action, it is irresponsible for nothing to be done about the threat that Donald Trump represents.

We have never had at any time in our history a danger of this magnitude from within the US government, and the military apparatus needs to make clear that they would NOT follow illegal, unethical orders by the President of the United States to promote mass murder.

And evoking white supremacist right wing evangelical Christianity as part of the military, as promoted by reckless Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and President Trump bringing Jesus Christ into the equation, is madness personified, as America is based on separation of church and state.

There clearly were doubts from the beginning of people around Trump regarding going to war against Iran, but everyone demonstrated a lack of courage to speak up and challenge the President. But this must not continue, and the Cabinet and Vice President JD Vance need to invoke the 25th Amendment and take away the ultimate power from Donald Trump!

Trump And Christian Nationalists Promoting Trump As Speaking For Jesus Christ!

It is horrifying how some Christian nationalists who believe in white supremacy are promoting the idea that Donald Trump is sent by God, as the modern Jesus!

This is a threat to civil order, and to nonwhite populations and the Jewish population of the nation.

It is promoting that America should be a theocracy, which is against the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and the views of most of the Founding Fathers.

Separation of Church and State was a basic tenet at the time of the creation of the nation, and America should not abandon that tradition.

And to make Trump equivalent of a Jesus Christ is preposterous, as he is fully ignorant and unconcerned about religion, just exploiting it for his own ends.

Project 2025: Authoritarian Fascism Replacing Democracy!

Project 2025, the work of the Heritage Foundation, is a declaration of war on American democracy, the US Constitution, and the rule of law.

Authoritarian Fascism would replace the kind of government we have had for nearly 250 years.

It would establish a dictatorship, with a crazed, unstable criminal in charge, and even if Donald Trump was not aware of policy details, there would be a massive number of ideological loyalists, much younger, who would be making policy and enforcing discipline, with some of them already involved in illegal and criminal activities in the first Trump administration.

Trump has made clear he wants to be a dictator on Day One, but clearly it would not stop on that day!

Project 2025 would allow Trump the ability to deploy the military against American citizens who utilized the right of assembly to protest government policies!

Project 2025 would promote the arrest and deportation of up to 11 million non citizens, who would be placed in internment camps, a reminder of what happened to Japanese Americans in World War II!

Project 2025 would allow the termination of tens of thousands government employees, to be replaced by Trump loyalists, who would have a deleterious effect on government policy in a multitude of areas!

Project 2025 would promote Christian Nationalism, and impose religious beliefs in public schools, already occurring in Louisiana and Oklahoma, ignoring the reality that it would undermine religious freedom and separation of church and state!

Project 2025 would allow political persecution of opponents, both in government and the media, with Trump threatening imprisonment of prominent critics, including those who investigated the January 6, 2021 US Capitol Insurrection!

Trump himself has said that while he wants everyone to vote in 2024, that he does not care if they vote after that, implying there may not be any future elections as he would be President for life!

So much more will be delineated in future articles, but all of the above is alarming to the extreme, and every effort must be made to insure that Donald Trump never gets near the Oval Office again!

Religion Does Not Belong In Public Education!

The Louisiana legislature recently enacted a law requiring display of the Ten Commandments in all public schools from nursery schools through public universities.

This is unconstitutional, and promotes a narrow Christian view of religion, when there are many other religions that are not considered in enacting such legislation.

The law is against the Bill of Rights, specifically the First Amendment, which makes clear total separation of church and state as a major principle of the Founding Fathers.

The American Civil Liberties Union and other groups have brought suit to prevent the enforcement of this attempt at promoting theocracy in public education.

The only way that religion is, rightfully, in public education is to teach about the various religious beliefs in an objective, and elective, high school and or college course, but not as theocracy, but as part of world history or Philosophy!

Devoutly “Religious” People Of All Faiths And Donald Trump Corruption!

This author and blogger has real problems with understanding the mindset of so called “religious” or “devout” individuals of any religion.

Evangelical Christians, hardline devout Catholics, and Orthodox Jews are seen as heavily supporters of Donald Trump, despite his lack of religiosity and his massive number of sins in his personal life as well as his public life.

People who could not tolerate Bill Clinton’s personal scandals, somehow, have no problem accepting Donald Trump’s massive violations of all ethics, morals, and scruples.

Christians, whether evangelical or Catholics who support Trump, do not see any conflict with the teachings of Jesus by Donald Trump, absolutely mind boggling.

Orthodox Jews are major outliers of the vast majority of the Jewish population, as they see Donald Trump as a hero, even though he has had support from antisemites, including David Duke, Nick Fuentes, Kanye West, and a multitude of others of that stripe.

This is why the Founding Fathers promoted separation of church and state, as they saw that religion has its place, but should not be related to government policies.

Senator Tim Scott Drops Out Of Presidential Race: Ho Hum!

South Carolina Republican Senator Tim Scott withdrew from the Republican Presidential race this week, and the reaction was “Ho Hum”!

Scott may be well liked by his Senate colleagues, and was the only US Senator running for President in this round of elections, but he contributed nothing at all to the race, coming across as very weak, and mostly invoking God to the point of turning many people off, as he is a supporter of church and state combination in government, which is NOT the plan of the Founding Fathers who started this nation!

His leaving the race emboldens his South Carolina colleague, former Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, who actually appointed Scott to his Senate seat a decade ago.

Haley looks more than ever the prime alternative to Donald Trump, if he is able to be kept out of the race by legal matters, but Haley first would need to show her strength in New Hampshire and Nevada, and somehow, win her home state South Carolina primary on February 24, which seems quite a challenge at this point.

Clearly, Tim Scott did not make a dent in the Presidential race, so the Senate had no significance in this upcoming Presidential Election of 2024!

The Growing Threat Of White Christian Nationalism

With the ascendancy of unknown Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson to the position of Speaker of the House this week, the nation is now faced with the reality that white Christian nationalism is on the ascendancy into positions of power.

This nation was built on separation of church and state, and yet, theocracy is being promoted, including promotion of attacks on women’s rights, gay rights, and minority rights.

Mike Johnson might seem to be a noncontroversial personality, but the more we learn, the more we realize he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, with an extremist right wing and hard line conservative Christian perspective.

Johnson has the right to have his own personal views, but not to impose his white Christian nationalism agenda on the nation at large.

The Attack On Science, Medicine, History, Literature, The Arts, And Knowledge Overall!

America is in a “knowledge” crisis as right wing and Republican attacks on so many fields of truth and information are being mounted by those who want to promote an extremist agenda!

These fields of knowledge include Science, Medicine, History, Literature, and the Arts.

Religion is prevailing over these fields of knowledge, as extremists in every religion are denying scientific facts, and threatening the medical profession, with the promotion of conspiracy theories and myths regarding how to deal with health crises, such as the COVID 19 Pandemic, which killed more than one million Americans in the past three years.

History and Literature are being attacked by right wing elements, including ignorant and biased parents, as well as religious propagandists, wanting the future generation to be “protected” from the reality of racism, nativism, misogyny, antisemitism, Islamophobia, and homophobia!

So teachers and librarians are being told to promote book bans and knowledge bans, because supposedly children cannot be exposed to unpleasant realities, a guarantee of ignorance and inability to face the future of a society that is not just dominated by white Christians. but rather by a multi ethnic, multi racial, multi religious nation!

The arts are also under attack as crazies want to ban art, sculpture, music, and other forms of culture based on narrow minded moral censors who want religion to dominate a nation that is based on separation of church and state!

Theodore Roosevelt, The Food And Drug Administration, And Conservative Attack On Medical Expertise!

In 1906, after reading the novel THE JUNGLE, by Upton Sinclair, President Theodore Roosevelt took leadership and pressured Congress into forming the Food and Drug Administration, under the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906.

Now, 117 years later, a right wing Federal District Court Judge appointed by President Donald Trump, Matthew Kacsmaryk, is trying to destroy the right of women to an abortion drug Mifepristone, which has been safely used for a generation since it was approved in 2000, and is safer than many other drugs approved by the FDA.

This is a clearcut religious extremist decision, without concern of the effect it will have on millions of American women, and it cannot be allowed to stand.

The FDA is appealing this intervention, and this is a tense time as it will have a dramatic effect on the whole political system, at a time when vast majorities support a woman’s right to control her own body and reproduction!

Theodore Roosevelt, were he here in the present times, would roundly condemn this attack on the most basic federal regulatory agency, added to by later Presidents and Congresses who understand the federal government’s need for regulation in support of the American people, and the lack of religious groups having the authority to control Americans’ lives!

If one is religious, do not have an abortion, but do not dictate in a country based on separation of church and state what other Americans’ rights are!
