Will America Tolerate 20 Million People Being Made Homeless? The Long Term Damage Of Such A Scenario!

Starting in August and for many months, maybe years after, America is on the brink of having up to 20 million people being made homeless by the second Great Depression and CoronaVirus Pandemic, with Donald Trump and the Republican Party unconcerned about it.

The refusal of Republicans in the US Senate to take action on extending protection for people who cannot pay their mortgage or rent, since they have lost their jobs and income, is infuriating beyond belief.

The emotional damage being done to millions of children and their families will scar the future of America!

The nation cannot tolerate the long term damage of such a scenario, and crime and violence will escalate, and will likely lead to mass death all over the nation.

The only answer offered by Donald Trump is “law and order”, making many think police brutality will be encouraged more than ever, and now federal troops coming in to cities when the state and local governments have not authorized it will only lead to civil war in much of the nation.

It seems clear that only, hopefully, when the Democrats win the US Senate and keep the House of Representatives in November, and when Joe Biden takes the oath of office in January, will we start to react to the disaster perpetrated once again as in the late 1920s, by the Republicans and their President!

But Donald Trump and the Republicans of 2020 are much more evil and disgraceful than Herbert Hoover and the Republicans at the beginning of the Great Depression 90 years ago!

The Battle Against The Homeless And Hungry: Live And Well In America!

In a nation in which there is so much emphasis on “Christian” heritage, we find many cities and towns have banned the homeless, and have made the feeding of the hungry a crime!

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, became infamous recently, when it arrested a 90 year old man for doing just that, and fined him for his charitable work!

But Fort Lauderdale is just the tip of the iceberg, no pun intended!

Among the localities that have taken the same despicable action are:

Birmingham, Alabama
Phoenix, Arizona
Los Angeles, California
Daytona Beach, Florida
Jacksonville, Florida
Orlando, Florida
St. Petersburg, Florida
Atlanta, Georgia
Indianapolis, Indiana
Baltimore, Maryland
St. Louis, Missouri
Charlotte, North Carolina
Las Vegas, Nevada
Dayton, Ohio
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Nashville, Tennessee
Dallas, Texas
Houston, Texas
Salt Lake City, Utah
Seattle, Washington

For a nation of so much stature as America is, this is totally reprehensible! We have so many poor people, and we treat them like dirt, blaming themselves for their poverty!

And for those who use religion, somehow, as a way to justify this immoral action, the statement to be made is: “There but for the grace of God go I!”

South Florida Wars On Homeless And Voters: Signs Of Heartless Attitude Toward Poor, And Minority Right To Vote

The Republican Party in the state of Florida has become as heartless and disgraceful in their treatment of the homeless, the poor, and minorities, as already demonstrated in Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina and elsewhere.

But now South Florida, where the author lives, has reached a new low!

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, center of Broward County, is now working to outlaw the homeless in their jurisdiction from having ANY personal items with them, including clothing, food, medicine, and personal items. These homeless are already degraded, but now they can have no personal possessions, an absolute outrage!

And Dade County is now setting up voting rules that will close all public restrooms on voting days, since many of them do not have adequate conditions for disabled people, so that means voters will have to wait on line for hours under restrictive rules for voting days and hours, and be unable to relieve themselves, thereby discouraging many voters from even getting on line.

What kind of community bars anyone from having personal posessions on their person or near them, and what kind of community cloes all restrooms as a method to cut voting numbers?

This is unconscionable, and the Department of Justice MUST intervene to stop both actions, and similar ones elsewhere in the nation!

How could anyone claim that the Department of Justice should not sue on these matters, as a violation of civil rights?

What kind of a nation are we becoming, when we take away all human dignity from the homeless, and have jurisdictions closing restrooms to prevent voting?

How can anyone justify this in the name of human decency and compassion and justice?
