Super Tuesday Results In Vermont, Arizona And North Carolina Positives For Democrats In Upcoming National Elections In November!

The Super Tuesday election results were predictable, with both Joe Biden and Donald Trump performing well.

But Trump has some major negatives moving forward, including:

Nikki Haley winning Vermont and DC, and taking about a third of all votes in a number of other state primaries, a sign of Republicans who are not likely to support Trump in November. Since Trump did not ever have a majority of popular votes in 2016 or 2020, he can ill afford to lose the Haley votes, but it will be hard for him to gain that, while facing 91 indictment counts!

The decision of Independent Kyrsten Sinema to give up reelection to the Senate in Arizona makes the Senate race a direct battle between MAGA Republican Kari Lake and Democratic Congressman Ruben Gallego, with Lake being a flawed candidate who already lost the gubernatorial race in 2022 to Governor Katie Hobbs.

The nomination of MAGA Republican Mark Robinson to oppose state Attorney General Josh Stein in North Carolina for the Governorship is another burden for Republicans to bear, realizing that Stein won two races for Attorney General in 2016 and 2020 when Trump was on the ballot in the state in his two Presidential runs.

Both Arizona and North Carolina are crucial states in the Presidential Election of 2024, and Democrats have just gained an edge in both states!

The highlight of the Midterm Elections of 2022 was the just announced defeat of Arizona “Election Denier” Republican gubernatorial nominee, Kari Lake, by Democrat Katie Hobbs.

Lake was the worst of the worst “Election Deniers”, and this dangerous lunatic is now a loser, who has no political future!

She represented the most dire threat to American democracy imaginable, along with also defeated Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial nominee Doug Mastriano, who lost to Governor Elect Josh Shapiro.

So Arizona and Pennsylvania, along with Michigan, where Democrats gained control of the state legislature for the first time in four decades, along with Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the other state wide executive offices, sets up a great situation for the Presidential election of 2024!

Three Crucial Gubernatorial Elections Of Women In Upcoming Midterm Elections!

There are three crucial gubernatorial elections coming up in 11 days, that involve Democratic women who can prevent extreme right wing Republican attempts to interfere with electoral vote count in the Presidential Election of 2024.

They are incumbent governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, facing a right wing lunatic, Tudor Dixon; Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs running for Governor against another right wing lunatic, Kari Lake; and Georgia gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams, running against her 2018 opponent Brian Kemp.

It is urgent and essential that all three win the Governorship, but they are not the only significant gubernatorial races, far from it!

This author and blogger cannot recall the tension and emotions that are being felt around the upcoming Midterm Elections of 2022 ever being quite as intense in past cycles.

It could be a poor memory, or seeing the past with rose colored glasses!

But literally, EVERY Senate race, EVERY House race, and EVERY Gubernatorial race is so significant for the future of American democracy, which is on the verge of being lost to the MAGA Republicans and Donald Trump!

With only about six vote margin in the House of Representatives, and an evenly split US Senate for only the 4th time in American history, and with Governors having tremendous power and influence on an issue such as abortion rights, every citizen needs to vote!

Last night’s debate in Pennsylvania leaves one worried about the performance of John Fetterman, as it could be the Senate election that decides Senate control in the 118th Congress. But also, the Georgia race of Raphael Warnock; the Ohio race of Tim Ryan; the Wisconsin race of Mandela Barnes; the North Carolina race of Cheri Beasley; the Florida race of Val Demings; the New Hampshire race of Maggie Hassan; the Nevada race of Catherine Cortez Masto; the Arizona race of Mark Kelly; and the Iowa race of Michael Franken, are all crucial.

And Governorship races, particularly in Michigan with Gretchen Whitmer; in Arizona with Katie Hobbs; in Florida with Charlie Crist; in Texas with Beto O’Rourke, are all significant for the future!

Extremely Dangerous “Election Deniers” In Midterm Gubernatorial Elections

The Republican Party has more than half of its candidates for public office in Congress and the Governorships in November 2022 professing to be “Election Deniers”.

It is horrifying to imagine that many of these right wing extremists are likely to be elected.

But three candidates for governorships are particularly extreme in their defiance.

Doug Mastriano in Pennsylvania

Kari Lake in Arizona

Tudor Dixon in Michigan

Matriano’s opponent is state Attorney General Josh Shapiro.

Lake’s opponent is state Secretary of State Katie Hobbs.

Dixon’s opponent is Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

If all three of these extremists were elected, or even two of them, it would make it highly likely that the Presidential Election of 2024 would become a constitutional crisis, as they would work to refuse the possibility of the Democratic Presidential nominee to win the state’s electoral votes, in these three states, which are all crucial in future elections, as they have been in past elections.

Adam Kinzinger Goes Bipartisan, Endorsing Democrats Up For Election, To Save Democracy!

Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, one of only two Republicans on the January 6 Committee investigating the US Capitol Insurrection, will be leaving Congress at the end of the year, as his Congressional seat was eliminated in reapportionment, and he chose not to run in another district.

But Adam Kinzinger is a man of courage and principle, and he, along with Congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming, is fighting against the Fascist takeover of their party by Donald Trump and his “Election Deniers” crowd!

So Kinzinger has endorsed Democrats running in the Midterm Elections next month, including:

Pennsylvania Democratic gubernatorial nominee Josh Shapiro, against the very dangerous Doug Mastriano

Arizona Democratic gubernatorial nominee Katie Hobbs, against the lunatic Kari Lake

Four Democratic Secretary of State candidates in Minnesota, Michigan, Arizona, and Nevada, crucial states for certifying election results, making them safe from “Election Deniers”.

Also, Kinzinger is backing Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski, and Independent Evan McMullin for the Senate seat in Utah, held by Republican Senator Mike Lee.

Kinzinger is someone who should be paid attention to, as he is seen as likely to announce a Presidential campaign, if for nothing else, to work against the MAGA Republicans, who are a danger to American democracy!

Women Democratic Governors And Nominees Work To Insure Abortion Rights In Midterm Elections

The Democratic Party has a substantial number of women governors, and women gubernatorial nominees, who would insure that abortion rights would be restored or kept as they are, despite the Supreme Court move against abortion rights in June!

This includes the following Governors:

Laura Kelly of Kansas
Janet Mills of Maine
Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan
Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico
Kathy Hochul of New York

Also, the following gubernatorial nominees:

Stacey Abrams of Georgia
Diedre Dejear of Iowa
Nan Whaley of Ohio
Nellie Gorbea of Rhode Island

And three open seats with Democratic women nominees:

Katie Hobbs of Arizona
Maura Healey of Massachusetts
Tina Kotek of Oregon

At this point, the odds would favor all five sitting Governors to be reelected; a tough battle for four nominees against sitting governors; and excellent possibilities for three open seats women nominees.

Looney Republican Women Running For Governor: Kari Lake And Tudor Dixon

The Republican Party has had looney women run for Congress and become an embarrassment, including, most recently, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boerbert of Colorado. But they have done little harm, other than to cause outrage, as they are a small element in the House of Representatives, who just make a lot of noise!

But now, we have looney women nominated for the Governorship of two states that were influential in the Presidential Election of 2020!

Arizona has Kari Lake as its nominee for Governor, and Michigan has Tudor Dixon as its nominee for Governor, and both are believers in the “Big Lie” that Donald Trump won the Presidential Election of 2020, and are unwilling to acknowledge that Joe Biden is the rightful winner of the Presidency.

Both Lake and Dixon make it clear they will do everything possible to deny the Democrats the electoral votes of their states in 2024, even if the Democratic Presidential nominee wins the popular votes in their states.

So both Lake and Dixon are deniers of reality, and are a threat to democracy’s continuation in their states!

Interestingly, both states will have a Democratic woman running against these looney Republican women.

Arizona will have Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who insured despite threats, that Arizona had legitimately voted for Joe Biden in 2020, and is now the Democratic nominee for the Governorship.

And Michigan has the very courageous Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who was threatened by extremists in the state in the past few years, but stood tall and principled, and is running for a second term as Governor.

It is urgent that Arizona and Michigan elect these two competent, decent women over the lunatic and dangerous women that the Republican Party has foisted on the people of these states!
