Major Blunder For Trump To Promote Saudi Arabia Nuclear Development!

It is stunning that President Trump seemed ready to enrich uranium, and promote Nuclear Development without any controls, for Saudi Arabia.

Yes, it is true that Saudi Arabia is a so called “friend” in the Middle East, certainly in opposition to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

But one must realize that Mohammed bin Salman, the real leader of that nation as Crown Prince, is an autocrat of massive proportions and was involved in ordering the horrendous murder of Saudi journalist and dissident Jamal Khashoggi, who worked at the Washington Post, in 2018.

One must never forget that it was Saudi nationals who attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, and one cannot be sure that elements in the Saudi government were not involved in the planning and execution of that horrendous series of events on that day.

We need to be friendly with Saudi Arabia, but not overly trusting, and apparently, Donald Trump has been told that it will not be acceptable as is, so now he has added the need for Saudi Arabia to formally recognize the state of Israel, and sign the Abraham Accords.

There are doubts that the Saudi government would agree to that, and of course, Israel itself is in alarm mode that Trump would even consider allowing US technical expertise to be given to Saudi Arabia, without strong controls.

And Saudi Arabia wants Israel to agree to a “Two State Solution” before any idea of them signing the Abraham Accords, which Israel is vehemently against considering after the war that has killed over 70,000 Palestinians since the attack on Israel, and loss of 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023.

It is clear it is more of a profit and business deal for Jared Kushner and the entire Trump family than anything else, but undermines American national security, as well as Israel.

One can be a critic of Benjamin Netanyahu and his monstrous war on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and still realize that giving Saudi Arabia the capacity for a future nuclear weapon, if attitudes change in that Middle Eastern nation, is a gamble not worth pursuing.

Additionally, the fact that Trump can announce an agreement, and then add changes less than 24 hours later, is a sign of his continuing mental decline, alarming everyone with any sense of the danger of having an 80 year old clearly in dementia, having control of the nuclear codes, and his constant threats to unleash massive attacks on Iranian civilians that would be perceived as war crimes.

Sadly, the US-Israel War Against Iran, while it has led to the death of the Iranian leader Ayatollah Khamenei, who was certainly a major detriment, will cause rising antisemitism worldwide, endangering world wide Jewry, including in America.

Ironically, there is a major split in both Israel and international Jewry, including American Jews, toward the right wing government of the nation of Israel, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the longest serving Israeli leader in the nation’s history.

Many blame Netanyahu for the horrendous October 7, 2023 Massacre by Hamas, which killed about 1200 Israelis and foreigners, and which led to the more than two year war that has killed about 72,000 Palestinians, and also a massive number of journalists who have engaged in reporting the horrors of that war.

The criticism is that Netanyahu failed to provide adequate security for the threat of a Hamas attack, and has not been willing to take responsibility for the tragedy, and is using the horrors of that day to sustain himself in power without formal accountability.

Younger Jews in America are often major critics of Israel’s government, and there is a noticeable split between AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee), which is totally supportive of Zionism and the Israeli government, and the J Street advocacy group, which is highly critical of Israel’s government and extremist Zionism.

J Street has promoted co-existence and a two state solution, and is against expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and for a more democratic Israel, seeing Netanyahu as a horrible leader, and angry he has not been held accountable for the security lapses that led to the October 7 tragedy. Netanyahu has been on trial in Israel for corruption for a few years, but still leads the government, and there has been no real investigation of the October 7 lapses.

So sadly, there is a growing threat against Jewish organizations, institutions, and individuals from extremism of all kinds, both in America and worldwide.

The Israel-Hamas War after nine weeks is complicating American politics going into 2024!

Joe Biden has been very supportive of Israel, even with more than 17,000 plus deaths in the Gaza Strip caused by the Israeli offensive against the terrorist group, Hamas, which killed about 1,200 Israelis on October 7, the greatest loss of Jewish lives since the Nazi Holocaust in World War II.

There were righteous anger and desire on the part of Israel to destroy Hamas, but now it has become a massive Holocaust of the loss of so many Palestinians who are simply “stuck” in a war zone they cannot escape.

And the government of Benjamin Netanyahu is responsible for failing to insure Israeli citizens safety, with the shocking lapses in intelligence and security.

And Netanyahu refuses to plan for a “two state solution”, which ultimately needs to happen.

But right now, there is such hatred and division in the midst of massive deaths on both sides, and it has caused widespread antisemitism and Islamophobia in America, and complicates politics in America as we go into an election year!

Important To Have A US Ambassador To Israel Who Can Promote Middle East Peace

The position of being US Ambassador to Israel becomes ever more important after the recent 11 day war between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip.

Antisemitism is rising in America and around the world, due to the harsh Israeli attacks in the past two weeks, justifiable as a self defense tactic against Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians, but still causing grief for Israel even among many younger American Jews.

Someone who knows the Middle East well, and could do the job of pressuring Israel toward negotiations for a two state solution, promoting what President Joe Biden wants and thinks is essential for Middle East peace long term, is the goal.

And former South Florida Congressman Robert Wexler could be the person to do it, and is supposedly on the short list for the position.

Wexler has been the President of the S. Daniel Abraham Center For Middle East Peace since he left the Congress in 2010. It is an American Non Profit Advocacy Group that works with leaders and policy makers in the United States and the Middle East to help reach a just and comprehensive peace that will bring an end to the Arab-Israeli Middle East conflict. Meetings, travel, conferences, workshops, and diplomatic exchanges further the mission of this group.
