Joe Biden Further Ahead In Polls For Early June Than Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, And John Kerry Were In Last Four Election Cycles

We have all learned from history that public opinion polls are not always accurate, but it is impressive, at least for now, that Joe Biden is ahead of Donald Trump in all public opinion polls in early June, further ahead of Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton in 2016, Barack Obama in 2012 and 2008, and John Kerry in 2004 against their opponents.

It is clearly not a reason for those who support Joe Biden to become cocky, and even lazy about campaigning for him, and for encouraging others to vote in November.

But considering the first five months of 2020, with the impeachment trial; the CoronaVirust Pandemic; the collapse of the economy to depression levels; and the Trump decision to fire tear gas, pepper spray, and have two helicopters threaten peaceful demonstrators in Washington, DC, who were protesting the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, one has to believe that the polls likely are accurate against Donald Trump.

Permanent Change In Campaigning: The End Of The William Jennings Bryan Personal Campaigning Mode, 1896-2020

Presidential campaigning in the 19th century was based on newspaper reporting of the various candidates speaking up on public issues, and speaking to small local crowds in the area nearby the candidate’s home.

The “Front Porch” campaign was common, as best exemplified by William McKinley in 1896.

But the same year, his opponent, young and vigorous 36 year old William Jennings Bryan, traveled by train across much of the nation, an estimated 30,000 miles to meet voters at train stations.

That was a revolutionary change in Presidential campaigning, and ever since, Presidential contenders and candidates, and even incumbent Presidents, have gone to the people to promote their cause and inspire voting.

But now, 124 years since William Jennings Bryan, and in the age of the internet and the CoronaVirus Pandemic, a new way of campaigning has developed.

Regular, every day internet events by Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden are becoming common, and President Donald Trump, of course, gets regular cable coverage, as well as on the internet.

This is a turning point, and is likely to prevail from now on, and the one advantage that stands out is the saving of energy and lowering of the exhaustion level of all candidates, by avoiding constant travel and 18 hour days of campaigning.

It is often said that campaigning for President is more arduous than being President, and it rings true, so we may have seen the last hurrah of regular, sustained, in person campaigning.

It does not mean that the President or Presidential candidates will not appear in person, but likely much less often, and this will also help to protect the President and Presidential candidates from the danger of violence and potential assassination threats.

Cheapening The Value Of 100,000 Plus Deaths: What Has Happened To Our Moral Values?

It is shocking and stunning how so many Americans seem perfectly ready to dismiss the fact that more than 100,000 Americans have died from the CoronaVirus Pandemic in three months, and 1,000 every day are being added.

That means by Labor Day, the total will be 200,000, and by Thanksgiving, will be 300,000, and this is assuming no major second wave.

The numbers are increasing in the South and West and in rural areas, while declining in the Northeast.

And this is not considering the reality that many people are not being careful, not wearing masks, not social distancing, and these demonstrations over civil rights and civil liberties in the past ten days have brought tens of thousands of people close together, endangering them and everyone they interact with.

It could be that the numbers will be much higher than 300,000, making it a year that could match the Second World War losses, or the Union side of the Civil War in loss of life, but both took four years, not nine or ten months!

And Donald Trump’s reaction is to move on, and ignore the pandemic, and just encourage everyone to get back to normal, which is not possible under the circumstances, as one can expect another shutdown of the economy if the predicted second wave occurs!

Donald Trump Striving To Be Dictator, And Time For Action To Force Him Out Of Office!

Donald Trump is striving to be a dictator, claiming the right to send military forces into states to deal with the mostly peaceful protests to the death of George Floyd.

He claims the Insurrection Act of 1807 allows him to do what he wants, but that is not the truth!

It is sadly true only in the District of Columbia, which is not a state, and in 1968, after the death of Martin Luther King, Jr, armed troops were deployed in a time of civil disobedience, a horrendous moment in American history, leading to thousands of arrests and ten people killed!

The only time a President can utilize that law in the states is if a state governor refuses to obey federal courts, as with Arkansas in 1957 under President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Mississippi in 1962 and Alabama in 1963 under President John F. Kennedy, when those states refused federal court orders to integrate.

The state governors would have to agree unanimously to allow the President to take charge throughout the nation, and they are not about to do that under any circumstances, as it is governors who control the National Guard.

A suggestion by George W. Bush to allow such intervention by order of a President was unanimously repudiated by all 50 state governors in 2006, and was dropped as an idea!

So Trump is simply claiming a right he does not have, but the time has come to force him out of the White House by mass demonstrations that will force him to leave, as he is destroying the nation in a time of a pandemic, a depression, and massive racial abuse by police authorities!

We could be on the verge of civil war the way things are going, but the Constitution and Bill of Rights must survive!

It is shocking that we are having a debate about face masks, when it is well known that it is effective in lowering exposure to the CoronaVirus Pandemic.

And yet, we have a stubborn group of Trumpites and others who refuse to use them, demonstrating they have no knowledge of science and have no concern that they could be spreading the virus to others!

The Surgeon General, Jerome Adams; Dr Anthony Fauci; Dr Deborah Birx; Joe Biden; Nancy Pelosi; Andrew Cuomo; Mitch McConnell; even Sean Hannity, and so many others, all have said face masks should be used!

But Donald Trump worries about how he would look, instead of worrying about saving lives, and setting an example for others!

So Trump, Mike Pence, and other people around Trump are taking the chance of being exposed, as there are people around both Trump and Pence who have become infected with the Virus, including Stephen Miller’s wife!

100,000 Dead And Total Lack Of What That Means To Clueless And Selfish People Who Only Think Of Their Own Desires!

It is shocking and disgusting how after 100,000 dead from the CoronaVirus Pandemic in just about three months, it clearly means little to about 30-40 percent of the nation who are clueless and selfish, and only think of their own desires!

They do not care about the loss of health care workers, senior citizens, African Americans, Latinos, meat processing workers, prisoners, and others who are bearing the burden of death in outrageous numbers!

These are people who will not allow their temperature to be taken; who will not wear face masks to show their concern about other people’s health; insist on having “fun” in the midst of a great national tragedy; and clearly demonstrate how they do not have any concerns about loss of human life unless it affects them directly.

This pandemic is a great national tragedy, but too many people just go about their merry way, and have no thoughts of the great human tragedy.
This is a sign of the collapse of the American nation, and it is connected to the cancer we call Donald Trump and his supporters, who are the most despicable possible excuses for human beings!

Joe Biden Makes Himself Available Regularly On The Internet: New Method Of Campaigning For President

The Presidential campaign of 2020 for Joe Biden has begun in a distinguished manner. There were people wondering where he was, but he has answered by presenting his ideas and concerns on a daily basis now that we are just about five months to Election Day!

Joe Biden is on the internet just about every day with a video or interview, as campaigning person to person is not possible with the COVID-19 Pandemic raging across the globe, and just today, the horrid figure of 100,000 deaths in three months, an average of 900 a day, stares at us.

At the rate that this pandemic is expanding, and with the expectation that there will be a second wave, based on history and science, we can expect, sadly, that there will be 200,000 dead by the end of August, and 300,000 by Thanksgiving!

So Joe Biden must campaign in a new way, and he manages to express thoughts of concern, empathy, compassion, decency, and humanity, but that is nothing new for Joe Biden, as that is who he is!

Meanwhile, Donald Trump expresses none of the above traits, and disgusts more Americans every day, who rightfully blame him for the inadequate response to the pandemic. There is the belief at least one third to maybe one half of the deaths could have been averted if actions had been taken in January and February and early March, rather than waiting to mid to late March, when the virus was spreading widely!

Joe Biden gives us hope and a Presidential presence, even though he is not President, reminding us of Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama in his ability to deal with a crisis, although not of his making.

One Third Of Americans Are Ignoring Facts Of History And Science To Their And Our Detriment!

With the summer coming on us, and the CoronaVirus Pandemic spreading rapidly in rural America, we are witnessing a third or more of Americans totally ignoring the facts of history and science!

They are giving in to their own whims and desires, and showing how they have no concern over the loss of life of 100,000 people in a bit more than two months, more than the Korean and Vietnam Wars combined and nearing losses in World War I.

They are also ignoring the history of the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918-1919, which had a bigger second wave in the fall of 1918 than it had in the early months of 1918.

They are ignoring scientific and medical evidence that we are far from through this nightmare.

But all that matters is having their drinks in crowded bars; exercising incessantly in gyms to show off for others how strong and muscular they are; tending to their dire need for tattoos and hair coloring; and hugging and touching everyone. This is because they cannot control their behavior, and sacrifice for the common good, of their children, parents, grandparents, neighbors, fellow workers, and even strangers, whose lives should matter just as much as those people they personally know.

This one third or more is only concerned about “me, myself, and I”, and that is the downfall of civilization in the long run, as catering to their own selfish desires is a sign of loss of morals, ethics, and common decency.

The nation will pay heavily for this recklessness, but sadly, only when some of this deplorable group die or have close family members or friends die, will they belatedly get the message—SACRIFICE—as Americans in past generations, far less spoiled, expected as part of their social responsibility!

American Democracy Has Survived Other Catastrophes, But Will It Survive COVID-19?

America seems to be in its death throes as a democracy, as too many Americans have no concern about the loss of life, demeaning it as “only old people”, which is not the case, and just concerned about having a “good time”, and avoiding any sacrifice for the common good!

America will not survive COVID-19 at this rate, as everyone simply thinks about “Me, Myself, and I”, and is ready to give up their freedom to a tyrant, Donald Trump, who has no regard for anyone or anything, other than his own aggrandizement!

This is not the nation which survived in common sacrifice internally during World War II and the Great Depression!

We have become a nation of self servers, and we have lost our souls, and when that is happening, it indicates the downfall of the American Republic which has survived through thick and thin for 244 years this July!

It is hard not to be pessimistic about the future, as we are facing much larger numbers of deaths than 100,000 on Memorial Day, and many Americans go about their business not showing any concern about the loss of human life, only about pleasure and money, and unwilling to accept any inconveniences!

And these selfish, despicable people are sending the wrong message to their children, and one day when they are older, they will reap and sow what they have wrought!

This Memorial Day weekend, as we are commemorating the loss of Americans in all of our wars, the nation is reaching 100,000 lost from the CoronaVirus Pandemic in just ten weeks, soon to pass the losses in World War I, and already having lost more than the Vietnam and Korean Wars, and September 11 combined!

And what is Donald Trump doing?

He is playing golf for the first time in 75 days, and discouraging use of face masks!

How much more despicable and unseemly can any President be?

The answer is that no one, not even Richard Nixon or Andrew Johnson, was every as venal and uncaring as the 45th President, an excuse for a human being!

This is a time of great national mourning, and yet one third or more celebrates by breaking all of the rules of wearing face masks, washing hands, and insisting on having “fun” and pleasing every whim and fancy they have, including drinking themselves silly at bars and nightclubs in close proximity to everyone else, and spreading the virus!

It looks as if the refusal, ignorance, and lack of concern about science will cause a massive second wave that we will look back on Memorial Day 2020 and realize it was a small percentage of the ultimate count that will die from this CoronaVirus Pandemic!

But too many are ignoring reality, and acting as if they are on the Titanic before it hit, and most on that ship lost their lives in 1912!
