Very encouraging news is that more Americans are identifying as Democrats before the upcoming Midterm Elections of 2026, than at any time since 2006, when Democrats won control of both houses of Congress under Republican President George W. Bush; 2008, when Barack Obama won the Presidency over John McCain; 2018, when the Democrats gained control of both houses of Congress in the midterms of the first Trump Presidency; and 2020, when Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump.
There is presently a ten point lead, which bodes well for, hopefully, good results on November 3, Election Day.
Three key groups–Latinos, young men, and young women have switched their support to the Democrats, after favoring the Republican in 2024.
A nine percentage point gain by Democrats among Latinos, and a 16 percentage point gain among young men and women, are major switches of loyalty, and hopefully, as in the past, will lead to Democratic control of Congress, and give an edge for the upcoming Presidential Election of 2028.
