Tucker Carlson Move Toward Third Party Movement: Splintering Of Republican Party After Trump!

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is making moves toward a third party movement, disillusioned with Donald Trump, and making for a massive split in the MAGA movement, as planning for the Presidential Election of 2028 moves forward, even before the likely disastrous Republican Party Midterm Elections in November 2026.

Joined by former Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and outgoing Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie at his Maine compound, Carlson announced a ten point program of opposition to Donald Trump and his policies and programs.

Particular emphasis was given to the fury over the Iran War; US support of Israel in its war in Gaza; and the controversy of release of the Epstein files.

If this splinter movement of discontented MAGA Republicans gets off the ground, it could spell massive trouble for the Republican Party in the battle over the Presidency in 2028.

While Carlson denies he would announce as a Presidential candidate, there is the potential for others disillusioned with Donald Trump on the extreme Right to complicate the potential for Vice President JD Vance, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Ron DeSantis, Josh Hawley, Tom Cotton, or other potential contenders.

The psychological and demographic drivers behind the MAGA movement are complex and widely studied, showing that supporters join for varied social, economic, and psychological reasons rather than a single personality trait. Research by political scientists, sociologists, and psychologists highlights several core factors that attract people to the movement.

Many supporters feel that their social, cultural, or economic standing is being threatened by demographic shifts and changing cultural norms. These are people who did not, or maybe could not, keep up with the educational levels and job skills to react to an exponentially changing, global capitalistic advancements. Hence they were left behind. Darwin’s “Survival of the Fittest” is what comes into play here.

They are protecting themselves from a specific type of narcissism that is built through specific failures in how they were raised. This person will mentally build a false self that acts invincible and superior. The example is the resurgence of the Klan and today’s Neo-Nazis, along with the MAGA Cult.

This defense becomes their survival mechanism, but it is very fragile. There is a weakness underneath trying to hide the fact that they are not strong people, and full of justifiable insecurities.

A deep distrust of political institutions, mainstream media, and global elites drives individuals toward a populist leader who promises to dismantle the existing system.

The movement provides a powerful sense of community, shared identity, and purpose for individuals who feel forgotten or left behind by modern societal changes.

Psychological studies suggest many supporters have a preference for right-wing authoritarianism, valuing a strong, disruptive leader who promises protection and order. This is because they can’t come to the realization fact that they own their own shortcomings. They want to blame others as their compensation diversion.

Job losses in manufacturing and rural decline lead many working-class individuals to support policies focusing on protectionism and nationalism. The unrealized fact is the natural evolution of “The Economic Bell Curve.” Nothing is forever and the individual has to plan and be able to adapt when this happens.
