Tea Party Nasty, Mean Spirited Conservatism Lost Big: The Republican Party MUST Change Or Be Replaced!
Posted by Ronald in News and Politics on November 7, 2012
The Tea Party Movement of 2010 has lost BIG in 2012, and the nasty, mean spirited conservatism it represents must be overcome by the Republican Party, which MUST change or be replaced!
Congressman Allen West of Florida, Congressman Joe Walsh of Illinois, Senate nominee Todd Akin of Missouri, and Senate nominee Richard Mourdock of Indiana headline those who lost.
Never again can the Republican Party try to dictate to women about their reproductive lives; never can the GOP attack Hispanics and Latinos in a nasty, mean spirited way and expect to gain their support; never can the party of 2012 allow itself to let religious extremists to control its destiny and dictate religious doctrine to the nation at large; never can they promote foreign wars and aggression as the neoconservatives did under George W. Bush; never can they promote lack of concern for the middle class and the poor, as Mitt Romney made clear in his “47 percent” speech; never can they allow themselves to become the captive of billionaires such as Sheldon Adelson and the Koch Brothers; never can they allow Donald Trump and other jerks like him to take control of their public message: never can they allow racists and talk show hosts, such as Rush Limbaugh, and other extremists and hate mongers to dictate to them—and in many other ways, they must liberate themselves from their demons, or become part of the dustbin of history!
They must become more like the Conservative Party of Great Britain, which is far to the left of the present Republican Party, but still to the right of the Labour Party of Great Britain!
It is up to them, and purging and house cleaning must begin in earnest!
Mitt Romney: A Presidential Nominee Without A Party! What Does That Portend For A President Romney?
Posted by Ronald in News and Politics on September 21, 2012
Mitt Romney is discovering that his party, both on the state level with governors, and on the national level with Senators and Congressmen, is abandoning him to save their own skins and their own power positions.
It is a real embarrassment that almost everyone, including conservative activists, who really don’t like him anyway, is leaving Romney hanging in the wind!
What does this portend for a potential President Romney?
It is clear that were he to become President, he would wield no power or influence over conservative activists, talk radio and Fox News Channel, or state governors and Congressional leaders.
He would be unable to keep a unified, loyal majority once the inevitable crisis arose, or the first political dispute occurred, which would mean he would be a totally ineffective President!
To top it off, he would not have the popular backing of the American people, because they would not like him, would not have his back, and would likely turn against him very readily.
So face the facts!
Mitt Romney would be a total disaster as President of the United States!
But, fortunately, that is NOT about to happen!
The Republican Party And Rush Limbaugh: Time For Divorce!
Posted by Ronald in News and Politics on March 5, 2012
The Republican Party leaders are a bunch of total wimps, unwilling to condemn Rush Limbaugh for his outrageous attack on Sandra Fluke for her testimony on contraceptives.
What is wrong with Speaker of the House John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and Presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum?
So far, only THREE Republicans have been willing to go out of their way to condemn Limbaugh–Texas Congressman Ron Paul, Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown, and Arizona Senator John McCain, the 2008 GOP Presidential nominee.
The Republican Party has for too long allowed Rush to dictate to them, and many have apologized to him in the past, absolutely outrageous behavior on their part.
Rush Limbaugh has been a bully, a disgrace to talk radio, an embarrassment to civil discourse, and has been given too much license to intimidate critics.
The GOP leadership needs to come out and openly condemn him, just as now eleven advertisers have withdrawn from his program. If not, the voters need to punish them and make their party a marginal party of insensitive, unprincipled male chauvinists!
And Limbaugh’s action to slander Sandra Fluke must lead to a pro bono law suit, not with the intention to enrich Sandra Fluke, but use what is gained in the law suit to support progressive causes that Rush Limbaugh hates. That would be just punishment for this excuse for a human being, who needs to be taken off the air for his transgressions!
