Internal Discontent In The Trump Presidency, As Turmoil Grows!

As the war in Iran is in its sixth month with no clear end in sight, and with a decrease in employment of 23,000 reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and inflation raging, there are growing signs of internal discontent in the Trump Presidency.

General Dan Caine, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is seeking an “off ramp”, regarding the Iran War, with US stockpiles of key munitions needed in the war effort rapidly in decline.

There are hints that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe are discussing alternatives to the war effort that has failed to dislodge the Iranian government, and has upended stability in the Middle East neighbors of Iran.

And Donald Trump is angry with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for the growing shortage of munitions, complicating the Iran War effort, and also, being noticed by the Russian and Chinese governments.

It has already been evident by body language and statements of Rubio and Vance, in particular, that they realize the future of the Republican Party and of their own potential candidacies to succeed Donald Trump, are in danger.

And even Caine, while a “loyal soldier”, has been perceived as doubtful from the beginning of the Iran War over the move by reckless Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to prosecute the war, and clear doubts about the wisdom of allowing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to have such a strong influence on Donald Trump in deciding to wage war without a clear path to overcoming the Iranian government.

Iran’s top leaders were eliminated, but if anything, the extremism and dedication of the new Iranian leadership not to cave in, and indeed making them more hard line as a result of their leadership losses, makes the situation in the Middle East a literal nightmare.

This turmoil grows as we arrive today at the 52nd Anniversary of the Resignation of Richard Nixon from the Presidency, on August 9, 1974, the past lowest point of the American Presidency, but now being challenged by the multiple disasters of the Donald Trump Presidency!

The reality is that the low point of public opinion since 1940 was when Richard Nixon resigned, but now Donald Trump has the second lowest rating in public opinion behind the Nixon debacle.

Nixon, under pressure from Republican Party leaders, knew to resign, but sadly, the present Republican Party is totally sycophantic, and Donald Trump is determined to burn down all limits on his power, and has been assisted by a disastrous and extremist right wing Supreme Court majority!

Trump’s State Of Mind Horrifying And Terrifying!

New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, in their new book “Regime Change”, inform us of the state of mind of President Donald Trump, which is horrifying and terrifying.

Trump told the journalists that he is the most powerful leader in world history, with his control of the military, and influence through social media.

Trump claimed he was more powerful than past world leaders, who were authoritarians, including.

Joseph Stalin
Adolf Hitler
Mao Tse Tung
Napoleon Bonaparte
Alexander the Great
Genghis Khan
William the Conqueror
Julius and Augustus Caesar
Attila the Hun

Treump’s state of mind is a five alarm fire raging, and is a dire threat to all Americans who care about accountability for government leaders at all levels.

Trump is violating the Constitution and the Bill of Rights on a daily basis.

This should lead to action to invoke the 25th Amendment, but the Republican leadership in Congress, while starting to be critical of Trump on various issues to some extent, are failing the nation, not doing what an earlier generation of Republicans a half century ago did to pressure Richard Nixon out of the Presidency in 1974!

King Charles’ Brilliant Speech To Congress Reminded Donald Trump And Republicans Of Basic Principles!

King Charles’s brilliant speech to Congress yesterday emphasized where Donald Trump and Republicans have gone awry.

In a lofty, historic address, King Charles spoke about:

Checks and Balances, as expressed in the Magna Carta of 1215 and the English Bill of Rights of 1688-1689, expressing the principle that executive power needs to be regulated in a democratic republic, governed by the rule of law.

The importance of preserving the environment, by dealing with climate change for the future, a lifelong commitment begun when Charles was a young prince and heir to the throne.

The significance of the NATO alliance and the defense of Ukraine, calling for continuation of the more than 75 year alliance, and defense of a nation under horrendous attack for more than four years against a nation which threatens European stability.

Additionally, King Charles reminded America that after September 11, the NATO alliance unified behind the US in fighting against the shocking terrorist attack against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The importance of the US-UK relationship was emphasized, even if the two nations have had their differences over specific issues and matters at times.

King Charles also emphasized the need for Christianity to work toward the goal of interfaith tolerance of all religions and peoples around the world, resisting hatred and violence.

King Charles will do well in history for his brilliance in addressing the issues that need to be dealt with by the United States for a secure and stable future for the nation and the world.

The question is, however, whether Donald Trump and the present sycophantic Republican Party in Congress will take the steps needed to insure that future.
