Deportation Of Immgrants

Independence Day 2025 NOT A Day To Celebrate, As America Is In Constitutional Crisis!

Today is the 249th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and it should be a day of celebration.

But it is extremely difficult to feel excitement or thrills, as America is on the cusp of Fascist authoritarianism after nearly six months of the second Donald Trump Presidency.

With many corporations, the Republican party in Congress, the Supreme Court, and some of the news media, kowtowing to Trump and his Cabinet and other supporters, the feeling is that what America fought for two and a half centuries ago, is being lost, without much hope of a turnaround any time soon.

The Democratic Party and the defiant news media sources continue to fight against the trends that have emerged, but now, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) having a larger enforcement budget just enacted, it is clear what is occurring.

Mass arrests and deportations are violating the major tenets of our Constitution, and the Bill of Rights is under attack, with little likelihood of a challenge, at least short term, that will reverse the damage that has been done, and is being done by the “Big and Beautiful” Budget bill that just passed into law yesterday, and was, a short time ago, signed into law at a White House ceremony!

“Giving Pass” To Marco Rubio No Longer Possible!

This author and blogger has always felt, in comparison to Florida Senator Rick Scott and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, that former Florida Senator, and now Secretary of State Marco Rubio, was far less objectionable, although not acceptable.

Apparently, all of the Democrats in the US Senate felt similarly, as every Senator of both parties voted for Rubio to be Secretary of State for Donald Trump.

The feeling was on this author and blogger’s part, that Marco Rubio, despite doubts about him, was the “best” member of the Trump Cabinet, less outrageous, less objectionable, less infuriating, and less arrogant and nasty.

Well, after his testimony before the Senate yesterday, and his declaration that neither he nor President Trump ever needed to obey the federal courts on the issue of “due process” and “writ of habeus corpus” regarding deportation of immigrants, now it is clear Marco Rubio is as arrogant and abusive and law breaking as all other members of the Trump Cabinet!

A number of Democratic Senators, including Chris Van Hollen of Maryland and Jacky Rosen of Nevada, as well as others, were outraged and stunned at what has happened to Marco Rubio.

Marco Rubio, who was such a critic of Donald Trump in 2016 and during his term on many issues, and seemed to have true principles, has “sold his soul” to Donald Trump!

When he seemed visually uncomfortable a few times at the Oval Office meetings and Trump Cabinet meetings, the thought was that he was very uncomfortable working for Trump, but that perception clearly was wrong.

So for his own future ambitions, including likely wanting to consider running for the Presidency, Marco Rubio has disgraced his name in the long run of history!

His reputation, whatever good it was, is destroyed by his kowtowing to an authoritarian leader who is only too willing to deport people of Rubio’s Cuban ethnicity as well as everyone else who is not clearly “white” South African Afrikaners, or people from countries such as Norway and Sweden (blond hair, blue eyed whites)!

Donald Trump Has Declared War On Supreme Court And Other Federal Courts’ Authority!

The nation is reaching a crucial turning point, as Donald Trump has attacked the seven members of the Supreme Court, who have ruled that he cannot use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport immigrants without habeus corpus and due process.

Trump is ranting on Truth Social about this, and he and his MAGA Republican supporters have also unleashed attacks against District Court Judges and Appeals Court Judges who have ruled against his policies regarding deportation.

Chief Justice John Roberts has also made clear how disturbed he is at the attacks on the rule of law and the Constitution, as has Associate Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and even Trump appointed Amy Coney Barrett.

The fact that all three Trump Supreme Court nominees, including Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, along with Barrett, have voted against him, and that some of the District and Appeals Court Judges who have done so, are Reagan, George H W Bush, George W Bush, and even some Trump appointees, is an indication of great alarm in the judicial branch about Trump’s grabbing of power and attacks on the validity and legitimacy of the courts!

It looks as if Trump and his Cabinet officers, particularly Attorney General Pam Bondi, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Thomas Homan, and White House Adviser Stephen Miller, are hell bent on breaking the law and the Constitution, and refusing to obey the federal courts.

This is, if not stopped, a full scale attack on civil liberties, the Bill of Rights, and endangers all Americans, that any excuse could be used, without evidence or investigation, leading to massive deportations to foreign dictatorships beyond just El Salvador, with no appeal or ability to reverse such totalitarian, Fascist actions!

Total Disarray And Chaos In The Trump White House: Are Stephen Bannon And Reince Priebus On The Way Out?

There seems to be total disarray and chaos in the Trump White House.

There are hints and indications that the Alt Right forces led by Stephen Bannon, already demoted from the National Security Council this past week, may be on the way out, which would be a good thing.

But there are also hints that Chief of Staff Reince Priebus may be gone soon, as well, seen as ineffective in controlling the chaos. Also, the role of Kelly Anne Conway has been cut back dramatically.

The growing role of Trump son in law Jared Kushner may be occurring, but one wonders if he is not being given too much responsibility and burdens for a man just 36 years old, and with ZERO experience in government.

Kushner’s Democratic heritage, and that of others close to him, primarily from New York, makes one wonder if Trump will recast himself completely from what he was when he ran for President.

If Trump does that, it will alienate much of the Republican Party and many of the voters who supported him, as it is already apparent that he has veered away from much of what he pledged and promoted to his audiences on the campaign trail.

What it comes down to is that Trump is an open vessel, with no clear agenda as he sees failures in his first two and a half months, and may be shifting gears dramatically as we observe it occurring.

That does not mean that any progressive can trust or endorse whatever changes Trump creates, as he is still a very dangerous demagogue, and could enmesh America in two wars at once, in Syria and with North Korea.

And his policies on deportation of immigrants and a Muslim Ban are totally unacceptable, as are most of his cabinet officers, and policies on the environment, health care, and so many other areas of government.
