Biden’s Upcoming Trip To The Middle East

President Biden is making a trip to the Middle East this week, with emphasis on his visit to Saudi Arabia and to Israel.

Both nations are a major problem for Biden, as he has to back off on his condemnation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s promotion of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi in 2018, and has to deal with an unstable situation in Israel, which will soon have its fifth election in two years, with the possibility of the return of Benjmain Netanyahu to the Prime Ministership.

Human Rights remains a Biden concern, but sadly, other issues and concerns, including the price and availability of oil supplies, must be considered.

Both nations are crucial allies, but with governments that are highly controversial in their policies, and Joe Biden has to manage a very difficult diplomatic situation, that no matter what evolves, will lead to criticism!

The problem of the Palestinians, and also of Iran and the Nuclear Deal controversy, will be the center of attention in both nations.

Joe Biden Must NOT Appoint Mitch McConnell Lackey To Federal District Court Lifetime Appointment!

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is the single most significant figure to have brought about the horrendous extreme right wing Supreme Court, which has reversed abortion rights, extended gun rights, and undermined the Environmental Protection Agency in recent Court decisions.

Now, there is evidence that President Biden was ready to appoint a Mitch McConnell lackey, Chad Meredith, to a Federal District Court Judgeship for the Eastern District of Kentucky, but the Court’s decision in Dobbs V. Jackson Women’s Health Organization caused a delay in that announced appointment.

The Democratic Governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, has publicly complained at the idea of picking Chad Meredith, who is described as a version of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on the abortion issue and so many others, and many other Democrats are protesting the idea of his appointment, supposedly to insure that McConnell does not block other Biden nominations in the last two years of his term in office.

Biden should rescind any such deal, as Mitch McConnell is unreliable, manipulative, deceitful, and making any so called deal with him is like dealing with the devil!

If Biden allows this nomination, he will lose the support of many Democrats and undermine his own Presidency, and this author and blogger will be furious with him, and wonder if it is time to move on and look elsewhere for the Democratic Presidential nomination contest in 2024!

The “Indestructible” Carters!

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter are, seemingly, an indestructible “First Couple”!

They have just celebrated their 76th Wedding Anniversary, on July 7!

Very few married couples ever reach that number, and it is a blessing that both of them are still going strong, with Rosalynn reaching the age of 95 on August 18, and President Carter reaching the magnificent age of 98 on October 1!

Rosalynn Carter is older than every First Lady except Bess Truman, who reached past 97 years and 8 months, and has this year surpassed Nancy Reagan and “Lady Bird” Johnson!

Carter surpassed George H. W. Bush in age in 2019, and, hopefully, is on the way to reaching the age of 100 in 2024!

Pennsylvania Gubernatorial Race Crucial For Future Of Women’s Rights

Pennsylvania is the 5th largest state in population, and will have 19 Electoral votes in the Presidential Election of 2024.

It is the most crucial “battleground” state due to its population and electoral votes, and already was the center of controversy in the Presidential Election of 2020, due to challenges by Donald Trump and his seditionists!

So the gubernatorial race in Pennsylvania between present Democratic Attorney General Josh Shapiro and Republican State Senator Doug Mastriano is crucial, as Mastriano is a right wing Christian extremist, who wants to ban all abortions in the state, including rape, incest and life of the mother.

Mastriano has also indicated that he would appoint a state Secretary of State who would refuse to accept the popular vote in the Presidential Election of 2024 and beyond, creating a constitutional crisis whereby the people’s vote would be thrown out by a power cabal promoting authoritarianism and Fascism!

Josh Shapiro has been an exceptional State Attorney General, and it is essential that he become Governor to keep the “Keystone State” on the proper path of constitutional government, and preservation of women’s rights, including abortion rights!

Already, nine Pennsylvania Republicans, including former Congressman Charlie Dent; a former State Supreme Court Justice; a former State House Speaker; and a former Lieutenant Governor, along with others, have endorsed Josh Shapiro.

The fact that Mastriano was at the January 6 Capitol Insurrection, and has refused to testify, is another warning sign of how dangerous he is!

Assault Weapons Massacres An Epidemic With No Solution!

America has become the murder-massacre capital of the world, and Congress and the Supreme Court seem unconcerned to take action against assault weapons, which should only be available to police and the military.

There is absolutely no need for any citizen to own and use AR-15s and AK-47s and other assault weapons, as they are not needed to go hunting, only to obliterate the flesh of unfortunate victims, often by people who are mentally deranged and/or have anger that is uncontrollable!

Every day, and often every part of a day, we have multiple Americans in all locations imaginable being murdered, as no other civilized nation on earth experiences!

There are so many cases of a few to large numbers of people becoming victims, that only the most extreme cases as Buffalo New York, Uvalde Texas, and now Highland Park Illinois, over the past two months gain widespread attention!

The Obscene Republicans Who Believe In No Exceptions For Abortion!

It makes any decent person sick and disgusted to realize there are Republicans who are so extremely antiabortion, that they do not care about incest, rape, and life of the mother!

And even more so, those Republicans who think a 10 year old who was raped should have to go through childbirth, and live out the horror of the rape or incest, which occurs much more than many think!

So we have Pennsylvania Repubican gubernatorial nominee Doug Mastriano; South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem; and former Vice President Mike Pence as three of the examples of those who have absolutely no concern about the harm visited on young girls who are victims of rape or incest!

This extremist, cruel stand should automatically eliminate Kristi Noem and Mike Pence from consideration for the Presidency in 2024 and beyond!

How could anyone be that obscene as to have that hardline a view on abortion, and to force girls and women, often at risk to their health and life, to follow through on a pregnancy?

There has to be a special place in Hell for such individuals!

This is extremism Christianity, far from what Jesus professed!

If Donald Trump Announces For President Soon, The Presidential Campaign Of 2024 Has Begun!

Presidential campaigns used to begin about a year before the election.

For instance, John F. Kennedy formally announced for President at the beginning of January 1960.

But with the development of primaries and some caucuses over time, it has become customary that once the midterm elections take place, that early in the third year of the Presidential term, we see candidates announcing for President.

But it is now indicated that Donald Trump may announce as early as this month, July 2022, four months before the Midterm Elections of 2022.

Supposedly, he is trying to divert attention from the January 6 House Committee, and the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson, which makes clear that Trump was engaged in treason and sedition on January 6, 2021, when the US Capitol was attacked.

The potential exists for up to 25 Republicans becoming candidates for the White House.

And if Joe Biden chooses not to run, or even if he does, there is also the potential for an equal 25 Democrats to engage in the Presidential campaign, although the number proabably would be lower than the number of Republicans.

The Growing Battle Of Blue Vs Red States: Gavin Newsom Vs Ron DeSantis

The battle between Democratic (Blue) states and Republican (Red) states is on, as we start to look to the upcoming Midterm 2022 Elections and the beginnings of the 2024 Presidential Election scene.

The odds are growing that, in the end, neither Donald Trump nor Joe Biden will end up as the nominees of their parties.

So innumerable Democrats and Republicans are “testing the waters”, and the battle for the future of the nation, after the shocking right wing extremism of the Supreme Court in the term recently ended, has begun.

So we see California Governor Gavin Newsom taking on the fight against the right wing as exemplified by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Both could, in theory, be opposing each other two years from now, and Newsom is taking a very aggressive approach toward the disgraceful record of Ron DeSantis on so many issues!

Supreme Court Most Right Wing Since 1931!

The last time the US Supreme Court was as right wing in its decisions as it has been in 2022 is 1931, 91 years ago!

The nation is in danger from a Court which is promoting anti abortion, pro gun rights, promoting expansion of religion in public places, and making it harder to address climate change!

The conservative majority is advocating “Originalism”, which threatens the entire constitutional decisions from the New Deal onward, and there is concern that the next Supreme Court term will be even more controversial and confrontational than the present one has been!

Supreme Court Declares War On Environmental Protection Agency

Republican President Richard Nixon signed into law the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency in 1970, and goes down as one of the best environmental Presidents.

Fifty years later, the Right Wing Extremist Supreme Court has declared war on the EPA, and it indicates the beginning of a direct attack on the “Administrative” state and the “Regulatory” state for the long term.

With the growing global warming and climate change crisis worldwide, the United States is being prevented from curbing carbon pollution from coal and oil.

This is short term and long term suicide for the US and the planet, and can only be curbed, as things stand, by adding members to the Court under a Democratic President.

We are in a constitutional crisis with an extremist, runaway Court out of control, and promoting only what is good for the wealthy upper class, while the middle and lower classes will face the dangers of the damage the Supreme Court is engaged in!
