Donald Trump Proving Inability To Deal With CoronaVirus Crisis

Donald Trump is proving his inability to deal with the CoronaVirus Crisis, as all he is doing is playing politics, attacking Democrats with his insults, and contradicting health experts.

He is more concerned with his reelection, than caring about Americans and their health.

He seems totally out of control, unable to deal with reality, and his mental instability is clear to anyone who has a brain.

Some worry about Joe Biden and his mental stability, but Biden is showing statesmanship by saying that the President should keep his mouth shut, and let the health experts take control and do what they know best, how to control a situation that requires calm and measured judgment.

Americans are seeing just how incompetent our President is, as if they did not know it already, if they had been paying attention to his day by day actions and utterances for the past three years!

We all totally second what Biden said.

Orwell’s prescient nightmare of a tri-polar world at perpetual war is 2/3 realized: Eastasia has its Supreme Leader For Life in Xi and Eurasia has its in Putin. All that is needed now is a Big Brother for Oceania.

Questions every American should be asking themselves are:

    1. Is it possible that such a thing could actually, really happen here?
    2. If it is, what would be the fastest, cheapest, and easiest way to make that happen?
    3. What can be done to prevent it from happening?

We the people will kick Drumpf’s butt out in November. We will also kick out butts of ReThuglicans in the House and the Senate.

  4. Jeffrey Moebus March 10, 2020 4:34 pm

That option may not be available to You, “the people,” in November.

  5. Former Republican March 10, 2020 4:54 pm

    Thumbs up to that, Rustbelt!

  6. Pragmatic Progressive March 10, 2020 5:00 pm

Rustbelt – Thumbs up from me as well. The troll has clearly been watching too much Hunger Games.

  7. Princess Leia March 10, 2020 5:17 pm

    Precisely, Rustbelt.

We all think positively. We don’t let what ifs scare us.

  8. Pragmatic Progressive March 10, 2020 5:18 pm

    Amen to that, Leia! 🙂

  9. Rational Lefty March 10, 2020 5:42 pm

Trump has been around people who have been exposed to the virus. We may actually be days or weeks away from Pence being acting President of the US.

  10. Southern Liberal March 10, 2020 5:46 pm

I don’t agree with Pence’s policies, but, quite frankly, I think he’s acting more presidential than Trump is.

  11. Jeffrey Moebus March 10, 2020 5:47 pm

Just what we need: not merely a science-denier for President, but a born-again Christianist jihadist wrapped in the flag and carrying a bible. i wonder if he’ll declare a Rapture.

  12. Princess Leia March 10, 2020 5:59 pm

Well, if something happens to Pence, our country finally gets saved by President Pelosi! 🙂

Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, have gotten the coronavirus.

NBA is suspending the basketball season after a basketball player for the Utah Jazz has gotten the disease.

Trump is banning travel from Europe. Except for the UK, which is strange, because the UK has the virus too.

An aide to a US senator – Maria Cantwell – has tested positive for the virus.

This virus situation is a very good example of why elections have consequences. President Hillary would not have cut funding for the CDC or gotten rid of an agency dealing with pandemics.

  15. Rational Lefty March 12, 2020 1:41 pm

Disease is already here. Travel ban is no good. What is needed is more testing.

  16. Princess Leia March 12, 2020 5:01 pm

Seconded, Rational Lefty. We need, not only testing, but also, social distancing, support for those most vulnerable, and a rapid buildout of treatment capacity.

  17. Pragmatic Progressive March 12, 2020 5:04 pm

Governor Northam here in VA joins the list of governors declaring states of emergency.

He’s advising that conferences and large gatherings be cancelled for at least 30 days.

He’s advising no out of state work related travel for state employees for at least 30 days.

He says the issue with the testing is that the CDC supply chain is limited. The state is looking at developing our own test kits. There are also private labs in the state authorized to run the tests.

And speaking of supply shortages, hand sanitizers are going out of stock. You can make your own with rubbing alcohol, but that’s going out of stock too.

Out of curiosity, I checked out Fux News coverage of the virus. They’re being racist, calling it the China coronavirus.

  19. Princess Leia March 12, 2020 5:08 pm

Trump was being racist during his speech last night as well, referring to it as a “foreign virus”.

  20. Princess Leia March 12, 2020 5:24 pm

Well, like I had said previously in another conversation, maybe the Republicans will take it more seriously when they start having fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

  21. Former Republican March 12, 2020 5:53 pm

I hope D is ok. He hasn’t been around since February 28.

[From the “Facts Can Be Such Inconvenient Things Department”]:

The CDC’s Budget Is Larger Now Than Under Obama, by Ryan McMaken

This is how the budget process in Washington begins. Step one: the president submits his budget to Congress. Step two: Congress puts the president’s budget in a drawer somewhere and forgets about it. Step three: Congress passes a budget it likes instead.

This reality, however, has been conveniently ignored in recent weeks. Some pundits and politicians have claimed that Donald Trump “gutted the CDC.”

Trump has been busy “slashing the government agencies” that combat disease control, one headline reads. Another claims, “the Trump administration has spent the last two years gutting critical positions and programs that…weakened the federal government’s ability to manage a health crisis.”

Well, it’s possible that there is a federal program out there somewhere that Donald Trump “gutted,” but the CDC isn’t one of them.

This is largely because Congress ignored the administration’s budget request and increased the CDC’s budget from 2017 to 2018 and again from 2019 to 2020. Trump didn’t object. As ABC news reports:

All of Trump’s budget proposals have called for cuts to CDC funding, but Congress has intervened each time by passing spending bills with year-over-year increases for the CDC that Trump then signed into law.

Nevertheless, leftists of all stripes have used the imaginary “gutting” to claim both that Trump is a fool and that the reason the CDC hasn’t handled the COVID-19 outbreak with flying colors is because its budget has been “gutted,” “slashed,” and “depleted.”

But here’s the reality: the CDC’s budget is now more than 7 percent larger than it was under President Obama’s last two budgets. That is, the actual enacted program budgets for the CDC in 2016 and 2017 were both under $7.2 billion, but for 2020 the budget Congress adopted for it is nearly $7.7 billion.

Democrats are not lying about the CDC. And it is true that Trump is a fool.

  26. Princess Leia March 13, 2020 10:40 am

Exactly, Former Republican. Governors around the country are having to deal with this matter themselves because Trump is incompetent.

  27. Rustbelt Democrat March 13, 2020 12:42 pm

Cuts include cuts in personnel, not just budget. There are a lot of important vacancies in many of our government agencies that Trump has not bothered to fill with anyone.

  28. Rational Lefty March 13, 2020 1:23 pm

The thing that scares me is that you can infect someone and be asymptomatic.

  29. Princess Leia March 13, 2020 1:28 pm

My God! I just heard that cases in Virginia have jumped from 18 to 30! Most, so far, are in the heavily populated areas of northern and eastern Virginia.

  30. Princess Leia March 13, 2020 3:12 pm

K-12 schools in Virginia are joining the growing list school systems closing for at least two weeks.

  31. Rational Lefty March 18, 2020 4:38 pm

In regards to the cuts, two years ago, the CDC stopped funding epidemic prevention activities in 39 countries, including China, after the Trump administration refused to reallocate money to a program that started during the government’s response to the 2014 Ebola outbreak.

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/27/politics/coronavirus-budget-preparedness/index.html

Trump is to blame for the lack of preparedness.
