Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Scandal: Resign, Be Impeached, Or Face Recall Vote!

Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker has been shown today to be a complete fraud, a liar, under the control and influence of corporate interests including the Koch Brothers, and having delusional ideas comparing himself to Ronald Reagan.

In a fake phone call, a person supposedly David Koch, communicated with Walker who discussed the goal of destroying the labor movement and collective bargaining, willing to do the bidding of the Koch brothers, ready to trick the 14 State Senate Democrats who have boycotted the legislature and are staying in Chicago, considering setting up confrontations between thousands of demonstrators and corporate supporters, and comparing what he is doing to Reagan firing 11,000 air traffic controllers in 1981.

He also showed he is totally warped on history, as he claims that the air traffic controllers firing in 1981 led to the Berlin Wall’s collapse in 1989 and the downfall of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Walker’s behavior requires one of the following: either withdraw the destructive labor legislation from consideration, or resign as a scandalous governor, or face impeachment, or utilize the Recall mechanism devised by Governor Robert LaFollette, Sr. a century ago to remove this disgraceful power grabber.

And while we are at it, let’s work to remove all of the “bully” Governors, including Chris Christie, John Kasich, and Rick Scott, all of whom are setting out to destroy state government and make for the most corrupt series of Governors we have seen in many generations!

We can’t recall Walker until Jan 2012. The Wisconsin law requires a service minimum of 1 year before such actions can proceed. And seeing as our state legislative branch is republican controlled an impeachment is out of question. The only thing to do is continue protesting outside the state capital for his resignation. Remember it took Egyptian people almost 4 weeks before they got their resignation. We are a week and a half there!

I’d like to see corporate media report on this and also report on how this emergency budget repair bill address only the current budget ending the 30th of June. Which was going to end in a surplus until Walker took office and gave all of his buddies who financed his campaign 150 million dollars of Bush Era trickle down tax breaks. Now the current budget year is in a 130 million dollar deficit, can’t people do the math?

And I haven’t heard the news address any of the hidden clauses in this emergency bill either. Their is a claus that will allow the removal of the UW board of regents from governing our largest campus and than replaces them with a private governor hand picked board giving the governor the power to set tuition, tenure, and pick what curriculum gets taught!

Another hidden claus is sell or contract out the management of the states heating, cooling and power plants without the requirement for bids to be solicited! Put another way, the governor can pick who he wants and make whatever deal he wants without anyone else having a chance to bid on it. So, who in the state of Wisconsin would be in a position to buy or operate these utilities and benefit from a bid-free scenario? Well all three of these Wisconsin based companies are the largest or are among the largest in their fields, and they all have one thing in common. Each of them fall into subsidiaries of the Koch Industries. Just like what Cheney did with Iraq and Halliburton. Walker is going to do with Wisconsin and the Koch brothers.

we cant recall Walker til next yr. and i doubt the assembly will want to impeach him…maybe the next approach would be to recall our assembly members and our state sentors if they DONT HAVE THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED…

I absolutely understand the anger at Walker. However, we need to stop all the Recall/Impeachment talk. It’s pointless. The recall couldn’t start for almost a year, and even if we could start collecting signatures now, it would be almost impossible.

California requires less than half the signatures Wisconsin does and grants 160 days to collect them instead of the 60 we get here. Considering that and a $2 million donation from a conservative backer, Gray Davis was the first successful recall in 117 attempts in California.

    It’s NOT going to happen.

As for impeachment. Understand that impeachment starts in the Assembly, lands in the Senate, and requires a 2/3 majority in both houses. That means you have to either recall/replace or convince 27 House Republicans and 8 House Senators to get him impeached.

The most reasonable path we have to correct the situation is Senate Republican recalls. Eight of them are eligible now, and only require 15-20k signatures each on average. If we flip three seats in the Senate, we can block ALL of Walker’s loony notions.

I get that you’re angry. Use it to get something done. Walker fears a recall/impeachment effort about as much as he fears rainbow sherbet. When he sees us crowing about it, I expect he chuckles.

He’ll stop laughing when he starts losing Senate seats.

I takes a REAL grass roots movement to expose the phony one as a FRAUD. Walker has exposed himself as one of the many high priced political prostitutes in the party of TEA. Not only does the profession lack respect its time is short.

The first comment on this article siting the
“hidden” clauses about changing the governance of the
University and the no bid aspect of outsourcing many
utility functions is really alarming. Aaron is right. This needs more indepth coverage. It’s not just about one over-the-top effort at collective bargaining, it’s about taking government into the
private sector for Walker’s pals profit and pleasure.
Shame, shame! I wish I knew how to help the
pro-union protesters more and how to help the Democratic Sentors who are doing their job by staying off the floor of the Senate. On Wisconsin!

Mary, you are an absolutely delightful example of the typical social conservative. May your comment, with it’s spelling and grammatical errors and your obvious failure to grasp the situation, remain on this blog for all to see for years to come.

(PLEASE tell me you were home schooled?)

Hello All-I am new to politics-really really new. In fact, I dont know the difference between republicans and democrats, but I am trying to learn. I know that what Scott Walker is doing is wrong, but before I open my mouth and sound ridiculous, I’d like to at least know what Im talking about-hence the reason for my visit here tonight. I’d like to take a proactive stance, and hopefully encourage my own children to be more active in politics than I was raised to be. I’m sure I’ve just opened myself for a couple of cheap shots, but I have to ask the questions to learn the answers, right? Any information at all on this subject will be deeply appreciated-or if anyone knows a good website, that would be great too! Thanks in advance for any/all help.

Circe-Cheap Shot Man. Maybe if more people with your intelligence were more willing to teach instead of criticize, more of us “less intelligent” creatures would be more likely to ask the questions. Cheap, Cheap shot.

@ Jennifer- It wasn’t a cheap shot. She did misspell a number of words, which any person with an education would know how to spell. Those grammatical errors are the errors of a sixth grader. And for the record she never said anyone was unintelligent.
