First Time Ever A Constitutional Right Granted Has Been Taken Away: Abortion Rights!

This has been a very emotional, disturbing 24 hours, causing the rise in blood pressure in millions of Americans!

The Supreme Court has taken away abortion rights after 49 years, as the right wing extremists on the Court, appointed by Presidents George W. Bush and Donald Trump, both of whom lost the popular vote in Presidential elections, have decided women should not control their own bodies.

This has never happened before, to take away a right granted, and to say that abortion is not in the Constitution, is a ridiculous argument! For instance, political parties, Cabinet members, end of African American slavery, rights to vote for women and racial minorities, Social Security, Medicare, and a massive number of other activities and basic functions of government, all came AFTER the writing of the Constitution 235 years ago! Originalism is preposterous in running a goverment centuries later!

The Trump appointed Justices lied in their confirmation hearings when they said Roe V. Wade was established law, as if it was, there is no justification for making women bear children, especially those who have been victims of rape or incest, or where life and well being of the mother is at stake!

The Court Justices lying are grounds for their impeachment and removal, as they tricked Senators who voted for them, including Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Susan Collins of Maine!

The “Pro Life” Court Votes To Promote More Gun Deaths!

The Supreme Court of 2022 is the most extreme right wing Court since the 1920s!

It has “good Christians” who wish to protect every fetus from conception to birth, while not caring how mothers, who often are victims of rape or incest, or in danger of losing their lives by carrying to term, cope with the attitude that it is not the job of government to protect and provide for the lives of children once they are born!

But, at the same time, these “good Christians” are endorsing by their decision on gun rights yesterday, to prevent protection of the American people in public places from unstable people who now will have the right to have their guns displayed and carried in all kinds of situations.

These include subways, churches, supermarkets, schools, parks and every other potential situation, insuring the already horrendous mass murders that are occurring regularly all over the nation, will now be multiplying by order of the Supreme Court!

This insane Court ruling not only threatens the ordinary citizen, but also law enforcement personnel, and insures that those who are racists, nativists, homophobes and anti semites now have open license to kill with impunity!

To use the idea of rural America as being the same as urban and suburban America demonstrates that the Court majority have not spent much time in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and other major urban and suburban areas.

It mwans that all of us in public places now are at an increased danger of being victims of gun crimes, far surpassing what happened in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde, Texas!

The blood and lives of future victims of gun violence will be on the conscience of the six right wing Justices who live in an alternate reality, and shows the need for Court reform, including adding Justices to the Supreme Court to bring it back to sanity!

Crucial Supreme Court Cases To Be Decided In Next Ten Days

One of the most crucial week to ten days in Supreme Court history is between today, June 20 and the end of the month.

The issue of Abortion Rights is the central focus, with the hint that the Supreme Court is ready to outlaw Roe V Wade.

Also, a very significant Gun Rights case, in the aftermath of the Ulvalde, Texas and Buffalo, New York Massacres will be decided.

Also, Immigration Policy regarding the southern border with Mexico is a very controversial case to be determined.

Additionally, an Environmental Protection Agency ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions will be facing judgment of the Supreme Court.

The Bush Presidencies Gave Us The Two Worst Supreme Court Justices: Thomas And Alito!

The legacy of George H. W. Bush, and his son George W. Bush, gave us, as all Presidencies do, positives and negatives in the long run of history.

But it is now clear that each of the Bushes gave the nation the two worse Supreme Court Justices in modern American history, both with an extremely narrowminded and vicious streak!

This is referring to the senior Bush appointment of Clarence Thomas in 1991, and to the junior Bush appointment of Samuel Alito in 2006.

Both Justices are so called “originalists’, who believe the Constitution must be understood in 1787 perspective, and do not accept the idea that 235 years have passed, and the situation of many groups, including the issues of gender, race, and sexuality, along with the concept of privacy, needs to be updated.

So we are on the cusp of a likely Supreme Court decision denying every woman the right to control her own body, whether a pregnancy comes about by rape or incest, as well as the danger to the life of the mother!

It also seems an opening not only to outlaw all abortions, but make it a criminal act of the mother and the doctor and hospital staff, and does not consider the effects on all women, whether pregnant or not.

Only a heartless autocrat with hate and vindictiveness in his or her heart would wish to impose tight government regulation on the private lives of women, or really, even men, who are affected by the imposition of a Judicial dictatorship, taking away a right guaranteed for 50 years, an unheard of reversal!

So the Bushes will go down in history in a very negative fashion for, whether realizing it or not, imposing religious views and personal vendettas of Supreme Court Justices they appointed on more than half of the population!

Supreme Court Nominees Lied, And Susan Collins And Lisa Murkowski Were Tricked!

Two Women Republican Senators, considered the most “moderate” Republicans in the US Senate, have made it clear that they are supportive of abortion rights–Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.

Both interviewed Donald Trump’s three Supreme Court nominees–Neil Gorsuch in 2017, Brett Kavanaugh in 2018, and Amy Coney Barrett in 2020–and all three nominees pledged that they would not touch Roe V Wade.

But now, based on the draft of the likely decision of the Supreme Court in late June, all three are supportive of Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, to wipe out fifty years of abortion reaffirmation, and take away a basic right already granted, a totally reprehensible action!

So it comes down to this–all three Trump nominees LIED to Collins and Murkowski, and have undermined faith in the veracity and reputation of the Supreme Court!

By all rights, all three should be impeached and removed, but of course, that will not happen, but the image and historic role of the Supreme Court has been sullied for all time!

And Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski SHOULD support a carve out on the filibuster to allow 51 votes, including theirs, to pass legislation to insure the continuation of abortion rights, and therefore, tell the Supreme Court to go to hell, as a disgrace to the law and the Constitution!

Supreme Court On Mission To Take Away Basic Civil Rights

The most extremist Supreme Court since the late 1920s and early 1930s is on a misssion to take away basic civil rights!

Taking away a basic right for women to determine their own future regarding pregnancy is wiping away 50 years of reproductive freedom, and there are no exceptions for rape, incest, or life of the mother, absolute insanity!

And the fear is that the right to contraception for couples; the right for gay marriage; and even the acceptance of gay entitlement to privacy in their own lives–all are in question with this right wing extremist Supreme Court!

Some observers even wonder if the acceptance of interracial marriage might be under challenge.

This right wing radical attack on basic human rights must be faced and fought in every way possible!

Supreme Court Has Waged An Extremist Right Wing Attack On Women!

In 1973, Roe V Wade, giving women the right of abortion, was decided by a 7-2 vote, including five Republican Supreme Court Justices: Harry Blackmun, Chief Justice Warren Burger, William Brennan, Potter Stewart, Lewis Powell.

In 1992, Planned Parenthood V Casey, was decided by a 5-4 all Republican vote, including Republican Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O’Connor, Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, John Paul Stevens, Harry Blackmun.

The draft opinion on abortion, written by Justice Samuel Alito, and said to have a 5-4 vote, was leaked last night, and it is an extremist right wing attack on women, taking away completely the right of abortion, including even having no exceptions for rape, incest, or life of the mother!

If this draft opinion is not changed by the end of the Supreme Court term, it has declared war on a woman’s ability to control her own body, and will lead to increased deaths by botched abortions, as was the case before 1973!

This bombshell report of what is likely to happen flies in the face of more than 70 percent of public opinion being in favor of abortion rights being retained after nearly 50 years of that right being affirmed!

Also, the fact that four of the five Supreme Court Justices in the majority of this opinion were chosen by Presidents who LOST the popular vote–George W. Bush in 2000 and Donald Trump in 2016–is very disturbing!

Also, the Republican denial of the appointment of Merrick Garland in 2016, while allowing the appointment of Amy Coney Barrett in 2020, both election years, but a double standard on appointment, is outrageous!

The concept of established law, “Stare Decisis”, and “precedent” as part of Supreme Court history may be going by the wayside with this extremist Court!

And poor women, and particularly minority women, will be the ultimate victims, and poverty and abuse will become the norm more than ever!

Only about 25 nations ban abortion, and most of the Western world will look at the United States as a pariah on women’s rights, if this Court decision goes through, as there are already plans for the Republicans to try to promote a nationwide ban on abortion if they control both houses of Congress and the Presidency in the future!

The need for the vast majority of women, and men who understand the importance of preserving the rights of women to control their own destiny, to become engaged in the midterm elections six months from now, is urgent!

A First For Supreme Court: Four Women, Two African Americans, And One Hispanic Justice!

With the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, we have a first for the Court:

Four women—Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Amy Coney Barrett, and Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Two African Americans—Clarence Thomas and Ketanji Brown Jackson

One Hispanic Justice—Sonia Sotomayor

Considering that the Supreme Court has had 108 white males out of a previous 115 appointments, this is a massive change, well needed and timely!

Disgraceful Display Of Disrespect By Republican Senators Upon Confirmation Of Ketanji Brown Jackson!

The gleeful emotions of Senate Democrats yesterday, upon the confirmation of Kentanji Brown Jackson to become an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, was counteracted by the disgraceful display of disrespect by Republican Senators, who walked out as rounds of applause, lasting a full minute, emanated in the Senate chamber.

Only Senator Mitt Romney joined the Democrats to applaud the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson.

It was an embarrassing scene, when all Senators, whether they supported Jackson or not for the Supreme Court, should have shared in the historic nature of her appointment.

It is one thing to oppose a nominee or a piece of legislation, but another to be rude, insulting, and clearly racist and bigoted in nature, as if after 108 white males being placed on the Court, it is somehow unacceptable to have a qualified, competent black female to be added to the Court!

It just adds to the obscene image of the Republican Party which is mostly beholden to the evils represented by Donald Trump!

The memory of the horrendous behavior of Lindsey Graham, Tom Cotton, Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, Marsha Blackburn, and Mike Lee will never dissipate, and all of these Senators will be condemned in the long run of history, as their reputations will lie in tatters!

Success For Ketanji Brown Jackson, As Bipartisan Vote Will Place Her On Supreme Court!

A salute to Republican Senators Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Mitt Romney of Utah for crossing party lines to support Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first African American woman on the Supreme Court in its history!

There is no question that these three Republicans are the most moderate, centrist, and reasonable Republicans in a party that is a total disaster otherwise!

Ben Sasse of Nebraska is a disappointment, refusing to support Jackson, and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina is a total hypocrite and an embarrassment, after having voted for Jackson for two earlier judicial appointments.

And others, including Josh Hawley of Missouri, Ted Cruz of Texas, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee are extremist demagogues!
