Fiery Rhetoric After Health Care Passage “A Clear And Present Danger”!

Mike Vanderboegh, an Alabama survivalist and former militia leader, has advocated that Americans break the windows of Democratic leaders’ homes. After calling for this last week, we have had attacks of violence against property, and death threats against Democratic politicians. He is now calling for supporters to be well armed and ready to defend the Constitution.

This event, on top of demonstrations planned at the home of an Ohio Congressman in his district; and Iowa Republican Congressman Steve King slapping a picture of Nancy Pelosi in front of a Tea Party crowd in Washington, DC; and the continued fiery rhetoric of Republican leaders, including John Boehner and John McCain, makes it clear that conservatives and Republicans, either by plan or by their dangerous rhetoric not being understood to be inciting, is provoking a possible insurrection that will lead to bloodshed and death!

All of these events are a “clear and present danger” that will soon force the government to utilize the Schenck case of 1919 and intervene to keep law and order in the midst of what is rapidly becoming a threat to public security! People must be held responsible for their speech, when it incites violence!

We cannot allow chaos and anarchy to rule this country! The evoking of the Constitution does not allow violent action to be considered legitimate! It is time for violent rhetoric and advocacy of lawlessness to end! Cease and desist!

Plaudits For Nancy Pelosi: The Most Powerful Woman In American History!

With the passage of the Health Care reform bill, it must be said that Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, has to be given the most credit for the major accomplishment!

Through thick and thin, under constant conservative and Tea Party and Republican attack, even on a personal level, Pelosi was able to keep her eye on the goal, and to prod and push not only her Democratic colleagues, but also President Obama, to get into the fray and fight for the legislation!

As The Economist magazine has said, Pelosi has become the most powerful woman in American history, and arguably the most powerful Speaker since Joe Cannon in the first decade of the twentieth century. She will go down as one of the greatest Speakers in her impact, along with Henry Clay, Sam Rayburn, and Thomas “Tip” O’Neill!

What angers so many critics is that here we have a woman, an Italian American Catholic, who had the “gall” to challenge the male chauvinist Republicans around her, particularly Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio, who came across as nasty, mean spirited, and narrow minded, a man who will go down in history as a “small minded” man who exploited every tactic possible to deny 32 million Americans the basic human right of health care!

So plaudits to Nancy Pelosi for her fantastic accomplishment! 🙂

The Republican Party Shamed Itself : John Boehner And Randy Neugebauer

The Republican Party will look bad in history by the way they conducted themselves in the Health Care debate over the past year.

Being the party of “NO!” and obstructionism, they resisted any cooperation with the Obama Administration, and even at the end yesterday, they acted in a disgraceful way!

John Boehner, the Minority Leader, shouted at the top of his lungs in anger that the bill was being voted on, making himself look very mean spirited and nasty, which seems to be his basic public persona.

At the same time, Congressman Randy Neugebauer of Texas did a “Joe Wilson”, shouting “Baby Killer!”, as Democratic anti abortion Congressman Bart Stupak spoke up in support of the legislation after an agreement with President Obama to issue an executive order banning any public funding of abortion under the legislation. Doesn’t Texas have enough embarrassment by the conduct of its governor, Rick Perry? Now one of its many outrageous Republican congressmen has further disgraced the state, which in many ways is becoming second to South Carolina for reputation of having politicians that destroy the state’s image!

Add the racist, sexist, and homophobic comments of Tea Party activists as they demonstrated against the bill’s passage, and one has to ask: Is anyone in the Republican Party NOT embarrassed by their membership and their followers? Can anyone be proud of being a Republican?

Bipartisan Health Care Summit Called By President Obama

President Obama has just taken the step to welcome Republicans in Congress to a bipartisan summit on February 25, to be televised live.

This is a good step, and will test the Republicans as to whether there will be any cooperation by that party toward some form of health care legislation.

It will be interesting to see if the GOP tries to evade the summit, or will in some way, attempt to undermine it.

Stay tuned for the reaction by Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Michael Steele et a!

Republicans Politicizing National Security

Deputy National Security Adviser John Brennan was on Meet The Press this morning, and he accused Republican leaders of Congress of politicizing national security.

Brennan declared that he had fully informed the top Republican leaders of Congress–Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader; Ohio Congressman John Boehner, House Minority Leader; Michigan Congressman Peter Hoekstra, ranking member of the Intelligence Committee in the House of Representatives; and Missouri Senator Kit Bond, ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee–of the Christmas Airliner incident in Detroit, and told them that the FBI was using normal procedure, including reading the Miranda rights to the suspect, and that no objection was registered.

Now all of the Republicans are making it a political issue, he said, instead of recognizing that using the typical criminal methods of questioning the suspect through the FBI and Miranda rights was that always utilized by the Bush Administration during the nearly eight years of the War on Terror under that President.

Brennan said that the profesionalism of counter terrorism experts was being challenged in an unfair and destructive manner.

Is this anything new, that the Republicans are refusing to cooperate and support the administration? During the Bush Presidency, it was said to be unpatriotic and counterproductive if anything was criticized about the Bush approach to terrorism, which ironically was exactly what the Obama Administration is doing, regarding terrorism suspects arrested on American soil. Unfortunately, the answer is that there is no willingness to cooperate and avoid partisanship! 🙁
