The Growing Threat Of Tech Billionaires On The American People!

The reality that millions of Americans are “hooked” on Violent Video Games and Smart Phones, along with Social Media, which dominate their lives daily, and that Tech Billionaires are becoming more aggressive in acquisition of wealth as they manipulate the population, clearly a massive danger sign for American society.

This is particularly true among younger Americans, particularly, but not only, Generation Z, and males, more than females.

Aggressiveness and promotion of hate and conflict is inciting more political and other violence, as shown by the assassin of Charlie Kirk.

Algorithms are poisoning public discourse, private thoughts, and spurring violent actions of all sorts.

Some kind of government regulation seems essential, and young people in particular, need to be encouraged to get off their phones and video games, and partake in other activities that are more socially productive.

Social Media has become a threat to American democracy, as it has permitted all kinds of hatreds to be spewed regularly without any thought of the effect on the American people.

There is growing nativism, antisemitism, misogyny and white supremacy that has promoted many of the gun massacres that have been occurring nearly daily recently, including the tragic Allen, Texas Massacre of a week ago, but also so many other such horrendous incidents.

The mental health of millions of Americans is becoming a national crisis, and particularly among women, racial and ethnic minorities, and younger people in general.

Freedom of expression is a cardinal principle of our Constitution, but there needs to be some development of a monitoring system in which social media companies, who are making money on hate, are held accountable!

Facebook And Social Media In General A Deleterious Force: A Need For Regulation!

This author and blogger can recall the “good old days”, when there was no Facebook and other social media companies, obsessed by profit, and unconcerned about dividing America into opposing forces that see those who disagree with them as dire enemies.

The expose by a whistle blower of what many have sensed was reality has led this author and blogger to decide not to spend time on social media, and instead to back off and focus more on the major news sources to keep up with the constant flow of events.

Despite the criticism of reputable journalism sources–including the New York Times, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times–the record of their reliability over the long haul makes them the best source of information. They are more reliable than even electronic media on cable networks.

Clearly, there needs to be some kind of government regulation to overcome the reality that social media helped to inspire the January 6 Insurrection, and is a danger to the future of American democracy. Also, it is clear that the COVID-19 Pandemic and resistance to vaccination and masking is due to the influence of Facebook in particular, and that Instagram, owned by Facebook, has had a horrific event on self image, particularly of teenage girls.

Social Media has gone out of control, of any sense of responsibility to America, only centered on profits!
