MS NOW New Name For Former MSNBC: Still Best Cable News Channel!

The former cable news channel, MNSBC, in existence since 1996, now has been recast as MS NOW.

It still has the same shows, hosts, and contributors it has had in the recent past, after being recast in recent months.

It remains, by far, the best, most competent, and most accurate cable news channel, surpassing the original news channel, CNN, which has become far less reputable as time has passed.

And MS NOW is way beyond other cable news channels, most specifically Fox News Channel, which has become, ever more, a total disgrace in regards to accuracy, and has been more of a contributor to Trump Administration appointments of horrendous individuals who have no concern for the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and the rule of law!

Even more disgraceful are NewsMax TV, and OANN (One America News Network), which make Fox News Channel look, comparatively, “respectable”, although it is not such.

NewsNation is a recent addition to cable news channels, perceived as “best” after MS NOW and CNN, and with such luminaries as Chris Cuomo, Elizabeth Vargas, and Leland Vittert.

Cable News is in crisis, although one would not think so at Fox News Channel, while fully realistic of that fact at CNN.

Both cable news media corporations, as well as MSNBC, are far from perfect, but at least the culture around CNN is to take action when anchors at those channels become involved in “scandals” of one sort or another.

So CNN has fired Chris Cuomo, the highest ranked anchor, and brother of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who resigned in August in the midst of a sex scandal, due to his brother Chris intervening to help his brother in unseemly ways.

On the other hand, Fox News Channel has consistently over the years refused to discipline or fire its top anchors in the evenings, despite their open nativism, racism, misogyny, Islamophobia, and homophobia, all of which should be grounds for termination!

So Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity spew forth constant lies, propaganda, and support Donald Trump and the January 6 Insurrection and the “Big Lie”!

There is nothing too low and disgraceful expressed by these three anchors to incite hatred and division that is not ignored by their company’s leaders, and including bitter attacks on Dr. Anthony Fauci and the actions of the US government trying to deal with the fallout of the COVID 19 Pandemic!

No decent human being would act the way these three talk shows hosts behave, and yet millions upon millions of Americans believe Fox News Channel and its anchors are God personified, and their tactics could lead to the outbreak of bloodshed and violence yet again in America in the short term and long term future!

So yes, criticize CNN, but be thankful that they have displayed a level of ethics and accountablity, that one has never seen from Fox News Channel!

Diane Sawyer Becomes The Second Evening News Female Anchor

The somewhat surprising news that Charlie Gibson will retire at the end of 2009 as the anchor of ABC Evening News after only three years brings us our second female anchor, Diane Sawyer. She and Katy Couric of CBS Evening News will compete with the leader in evening news, Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News.

Diane Sawyer has had an exceptional career with ABC News, and has managed to interview many of the most important newsworthy personalities of the past couple of decades. She deserves the opportunity to anchor, and should do just fine in ratings, probably competing with Brian Williams, just as Good Morning America has done very well with her and Robin Roberts as co anchors.

The interesting possible scenario is who will replace Diane on GMA, and it would seem to me it would be Chris Cuomo, the younger son of former NY Governor Mario Cuomo. And it seems to me that assuming Chris does a good job on GMA, he could very likely be the anchor replacement for Diane Sawyer when in a few years, she is likely to leave.

And that leaves the possible situation of Chris Cuomo as evening news anchor in the future, and possibly, his brother, Andrew Cuomo as possible Governor of New York, and maybe pursuing the Presidency in 2016, an event his brother would possibly be reporting either on GMA or on the Evening News.

What an interesting scenario long term! 🙂
