State Governorships Could See Switch To Democrats In Midterm Elections

A number of Republican governed state goverments could switch hands to Democratic contenders, in the upcoming Midterm Elections of 2026.

This includes:

Alabama–Doug Jones over Tommy Tuberville
Alaska–Jonathan Kreiss Tomkins over Dave Bronson
Florida–David Jolly over Byron Donalds
Georgia–Keisha Lance Bottoms over Rick Jackson
Iowa–Rob Sand over Zach Lahn
Kansas–Cindy Holscher over Ty Masterson
Nevada–Aaron Ford over Joe Lombardo
Ohio–Amy Acton over Vivek Ramaswamy
Texas–Gina Hinojosa over Greg Abbott

Only Nevada and Texas have an incumbent Governor running for reelection, and the rest are two contenders for the Governorship.

The odds in these nine states is that five seem likely to go Democratic, with longer odds in Alabama, Kansas, Nevada, and Texas.
