18 Weeks Until The Election Of Hillary Clinton As The 45th President Of The United States!

The news today that the FBI has cleared Hillary Clinton of any illegal, criminal activity, regarding her Email controversy, is the clincher of the election 18 weeks from today!

Sure, the GOP will jump on the FBI’s statement that Hillary Clinton showed very poor judgment on the security matters of her email usage, but that can be seen as simply human error, as all leaders make mistakes, but not on the level of George W. Bush and the Iraq War, Afghanistan War, Hurricane Katrina, and the Great Recession of 2008!

No one is saying that Hillary Clinton is perfect but then Donald Trump is much more imperfect in an extreme fashion.

We are not electing God, or a perfect human being, as no such person has ever existed.

But we know President Hillary Clinton will shape the future of the Supreme Court and promote progressive reforms, building on Barack Obama’s path breaking changes in domestic affairs.

And we know that Hillary Clinton has the foreign policy expertise, and connections and respect from foreign governments, including friends and foes.

And now, today, Hillary Clinton can finally campaign without a cloud over her head, and arriving in Charlotte, North Carolina on Air Force One with President Obama, and later this week speaking in Scranton, Pennsylvania with Vice President Joe Biden!

So the future is bright, and there is no way, other than millions stupidly staying home and not voting, to prevent our first woman President of the United States!

As our local progressive blog says, it’s important to note that James Comey is “a registered Republican who donated to U.S. Senator John McCain’s campaign in the 2008 presidential election and to Governor Mitt Romney’s campaign in the 2012 presidential election.

They also point out that he served as United States Deputy Attorney General in President George W. Bush’s administration, which shows that he’s clearly no friend of the Clintons or the Democrats.

To second a comment in the Blue Virginia article: The real difference between the presumptive nominees is one learns from mistakes and takes ownership (Hillary) while the other never admits mistakes and just blames everyone else, esp. the media (Donald).

Former Republican, you are absolutely correct!

I’m surprised Comey’s statement kind of inferred that a Gmail account would have been more secure than a private server.

About the Hillary/email matter. I would really like to believe that the bottom line is that Hillary has been exonerated, and the whole brouhaha over this has been proved to be as groundless and dishonest and politically motivated on the right as the whole Benghazi matter.
But there are too many people who are not just right-wing hacks and propagandists who are calling it differently.

There is a reality out there that is well-established and ought not to be ignored: that polls show Hillary to have high unfavorables, and that central to that appears to be that a lot of Americans (approximately 60%) do not see her as honest and trustworthy.
Regardless of how well- or ill-founded those perceptions are, and regardless of what role right-wing propaganda vs. her own actions caused this distrust, these perceptions exist. And they are potentially important EVEN IF SHE WINS THE ELECTION HANDILY, which at present seems highly likely. They will remain important because they can affect her ability to lead the nation, which is an important part of the job of the president.
So I would like to raise a question that I myself have been pondering for a couple of months now: if you were advising Hillary, and you believed that it was important to move people toward trusting her, WHAT WOULD YOU ADVISE HER TO DO?
Or would you regard this widespread perception as either unimportant or irremediable?

On Morning Joe this morning, the pundits were discussing how it’s going to impact her on the trustworthy issue. I finally said, Enough!, and turned off the TV.

Speaking of Bernie, ABC News reported tonight that he may be endorsing her next week.

    James Comey’s abuse of power.

(“When FBI Director James B. Comey stepped to the lectern to deliver his remarks about Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, he violated time-honored Justice Department practices for how such matters are to be handled, set a dangerous precedent for future investigations and committed a gross abuse of his own power.”)
