Republican Lunacy Is Getting Worse By The Day!

All that one needs to do is wait, and the Republican Party harms itself and its reputation!

Examples abound, such as just recently, the following:

Virginia Lieutenant Governor nominee E. W. Jackson, a minister, has stated that one cannot be a Christian and also be a Democrat!

Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who looks and acts more like former Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy as each day goes by, makes clear that he wishes, with other Tea Party radicals, to force the federal government into being shut down, until and when ObamaCare is defunded, no matter what damage it does to the American economy and our system of national defense, and payments to the elderly and disabled under Social Security and Medicare!

And Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus has threatened to forbid any Republican Presidential debates to be conducted by NBC and CNN, if they go through with plans, in their entertainment divisions, with specials on the life of Hillary Clinton, failing to see that the news division and the entertainment division are separate, and that neither station will give in to his threats! All it can do is undermine GOP attempts to gain public support, as if these two major networks are not engaged in the political campaign, it is the party that loses, more than the stations!

What is wrong with these Republicans, and many other examples, and that only a small coterie of Republicans, such as John McCain and Chris Christie, seem to have any sanity and common sense?

This portends a civil war for the future of the GOP, which will overshadow the 2016 race, as the Republican Party is self destructing before our eyes, more every day!

Excellent post Professor. I admit there is not a day that goes by that the repubs don’t absolutely stun me with yet another insane statement, accusation, lie, and act of stupidity! Has either party ever been this insane and so obstructionist back through history? All because they hate that a black man beat them!

There has always been reckless rhetoric, but it seems more concentrated in the Republican Party than in the Democratic Party, and in my lifetime, at least, it has not been as bad as it is now!

    Hello Professor,
The more I learn, the more I realize the current aspects and demographics of the Republican Party know less and less. I attribute it to the embracing of their wanted ignorance over facts….it is more of a factor of what they want reality to be instead of what life really is. Yes they are looking through KoolAid color glasses.

Three of the worst mass attacks on Americans have come from Americans who were reactionary right wing extremists.
The first to top my list is Tim McVeigh and the Oklahoma City Bombing, who acted out as a reactionary right-wing extremist.
My second choice, the Sikh Temple shooting in Wisconsin which was committed by a white supremacist. Ignorance played a big part as the shooter thought he was attacking those of Islamic faith.
The Newtown Shooting in Connecticut was committed by a person with mental issues. Family and friends reported him to be a right wing survivalist like his mother embedded into him.
As I have said often and cannot stress enough, the Reactionary Right presents a three part problem: a fearful mindset that embraces conspiracy theories, a willingness to commit violence without a factual basis justifying it, and obsession with accumulating weapons often combined with the association with paramilitary organizations.
The Republican Party needs to repudiate this extremist fringe. Especially the violent segment, and acceptance of violence as a political tactic.
I will also give the example of the same way William F. Buckley repudiated the John Birch Society.  Until then, they have lost credibility and have become just dangerous.

I heard on MSNBC last night that companies are cutting worker hours in order to avoid paying for Obamacare.

Yes, I have heard that too, as corporations work to undermine workers’ health care. Remember corporations are selfish, only interested in profit at least cost, and that is why there is a need for MORE regulation of corporations in the public interest, force them to behave properly and obey the laws!
