Dr. Benjamin Carson: Stick To Neurology, Not A Warped View Of Politics!

Dr. Benjamin Carson is a renowned, and now retired, neurosurgeon, applauded for his great work with children, particularly for his accomplishment of separating conjoined twins joined at the head. Everyone should applaud his achievements, and his obvious genius, in the medical profession.

However, Carson has become the center of controversy ever since he decided to get involved in politics, and showed an extremist view of reality and public affairs.

Rumored to be thinking of running for President, the African American surgeon has taken stands for the past few years, which put him on the far right of the Republican Party, often sounding like the conservative talk show hosts that have undermined the historic, mainstream GOP.

The Tea Party finds Carson fascinating, and that alone should alarm any sensible thinking person.

Carson now says that progressivism, the Progressive Era, and everything that progressives and liberals believe, is similar to Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler! He also says ObamaCare is the worst thing since slavery!

This has been said before by right wing ideologues, but has no basis in truth and reality!

What Carson and his extremist believers are promoting is that the advancement of women, racial minorities, immigrants, labor, and the environment are a conspiracy against the American people, when in reality, this is simply code language for the exploitation by corporations and the top one percent, in the name of unbridled capitalism.

So the battles of the Progressives, New Dealers, and Great Society advocates of the 20th century against the backwardness and exploitation of the Gilded Age, is back in full swing with Benjamin Carson and others who speak for the ruling class, including the Koch Brothers, and many other multibillionaires, who could not care less about the middle class and the poor, and the oppressed groups among us!

So DR. Carson, a renowned neurosurgeon and avowed Christian doesn’t believe in evolution. This only further proves my point on religion. It is the most evil entity on Earth.

Yes, JOB, amazing that Carson does not believe in evolution, and probably not in climate change, either! It makes you wonder how he made it through medical school!

And yes, sadly, Religion is the most divisive thing there is, and it makes intelligent people purely stupid, believing a story developed over many centuries by people who never knew the prophets personally! But you can take a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink, as the saying goes!

About Religion.. I just bought an interesting book that I read about in an article . Voting About God in Early Church Councils by Ramsay MacMullen I have alwsys felt the bible is a schmoozefest of a group of men who dien thru the ages decided themselves what the word of God is. They did this to encourage ,force, their own views to control people. Different generations and poitical views with the power hungry and greedy men hellbent on controlling the masses for their own interests for their interests. This book intricately examamins this.

I agree, Maggie, and it amazes me how intelligent people so often allow themselves to be manipulated and do not see what is happening to them, and how it divides people and promotes hate!

Keep in mind that people like Dr. Carson are not representative of all Christians.

When I was a kid, I would go to church with family and friends but never settled on any particular denomination. A few years ago I became attracted to Unitarian Universalism. One of the main reasons I am attracted to the UU faith is that they offer inclusion. I can keep the Christian traditions that continue to help guide my path. Since there are no UU churches close by me, this is a blog that I read for some daily inspiration in my life: http://www.questformeaning.org/

Pragmatic Progressive, I fully understand that right wing Christians do NOT represent all Christians, but they seem to get the most publicity!

Jane Doe, I agree with you about Unitarians being an ideal group, but realize many Christians believe that Unitarians are not Christians because they diverge too far from traditional Christianity.

From what I’ve learned about UU’s is that most Unitarian Universalists would refer to the denomination as “post-Christian” – that is, coming out of a fully Christian heritage (both the Unitarians and the Universalists were Christians, though not quite “orthodox” ones) but no longer as a group identifying with any particular Christian message about Jesus or God or salvation. They take such labels as Christian and Buddhist as identifiers of PERSONAL belief, philosophy, theology, practice, or committment – rather than as identifiers of the denomination, which can include many different personal identifiers.
