A new CNN poll demonstrates that President Barack Obama’s popularity ratings are falling fast, and the question is whether he can revive his popularity, or will be seen as a failed President in the three remaining years of his Presidency.
53 percent now see him as not honest and trustworthy; only 40 percent consider him capable of operating the government effectively.
But 60 percent still believe he has a vision for the country’s future; and 70 percent still see him as likable, but even those numbers are lower.
Obama still, however, is seen in a positive way personally overall, but his ability to get things done has suffered dramatically in 2013, and particularly over the massive failure of the launch of ObamaCare.
And now, there is new conflict over the deal with Iran, with many seeing it as a disaster in the making, almost like a Munich 1938 agreement, which led to World War II. The word being bandied about is “appeasement”.
The immigration bill is stalled in Congress, and the likelihood of any kind of cooperation with the Republicans in Congress seem highly doubtful.
So the question is what will happen in the next three years, and it is anyone’s guess as to how Obama will fare, and look in the eyes of history.
President Obama is doing just fine in my opinion and in the opinion of most Americans who want good health benefits in their health insurance policies. I thank God every night that President Obama is in office and that the right wing wackos did not win the election to continue to do everything for the one percent and only the one percent. They are also the ones who will start a war if they can. They will end Social Security and Medicare and privatize everything else in sight. So just as long as President Obama is doing his job I am happy. 🙂
No one asked for my vote…Here it is: I approve 100% of what President Obama is doing in office. I dissaprove 100% of what the Republiklans have and are doing in Congress. Nuff said. 🙂

Oh, Princess Leia, Jane Doe and Rustbelt Democrat, I totally agree with you on all points, but I am concerned that public opinion is turning against Obama, and that he is having problems accomplishing his wonderful goals in both domestic and foreign policy. I hope the public perception of Obama will improve soon, once the ObamaCare website problems are resolved.
I think a huge part of the problem is a culture of impatience.

I guarantee you that many a news report will show fist fights over Xboxes, etc. this weekend.
If people refused to shop, the stores wouldn’t open. I don’t even shop on Black Friday anymore.
Getting back to the initial topic, in my opinion, far too often President Obama has allowed Republicans to control the message.
I think our media being too one-sided has played a role. One of the progressive blogs I read is compiling a growing list of Obamacare success stories (link through their Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Winning-Progressive/195682780442236), but you won’t here about that in the media. They’re too focused on negatives.
One Sunday morning I flipped through those political talk shows (Meet The Press, etc.). More conservative voices as guests than progressive voices.
