Republicans In Senate Try To Stop Second Trump Impeachment Trial: Total Disgrace!

The Republican Party used to be an honorable party, with some really good Senators and Congressmen, as well as Governors.

But now, the Republican Party is more than ever a Fascist oriented party, still backing Donald Trump despite his inciting the US Capitol Insurrection on January 6, 2021.

So today, the Republican Party in the Senate disgraced itself, with 90 percent of the 50 Senators, 45 out of 50, voting to try to stop the Second Trump Impeachment Trial, scheduled to start in two weeks.

Only Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Ben Sasse, and Pat Toomey voted in favor of a trial, and even Mitch McConnell, who had condemned Trump for the Insurrection voted against having a trial.

The trial will go forward, but it seems clear that Donald Trump will escape conviction, and that will mean Donald Trump will NOT lose the right to seek public office again, creating a literal nightmare scenario that he could attempt to return to a political campaign again in 2024!

There should be a rule that those senators who voted against an impeachment trial should not be permitted to vote on Trump since they did not want a trial!

If only that was allowed, there would only be 55 votes and only 37 would be needed for conviction!

Inauguration Day 2021 has finally arrived!

A new beginning under a very decent, compassionate, empathetic, and genuine man, Joe Biden, who cares about unity and progress, is awaiting us in a few hours, and the cancer of Donald Trump, the great national nightmare, is over!

Let us all pray for a peaceful celebration of the inauguration of the 46th President, and yet feel sadness that 25,000 National Guardsmen are needed today to insure the safety and security of the new President and the entire group of government leaders that will commemorate the transition of power!

Every effort must be made to insure that Donald Trump will never hold public office again!

And every decent person must work to insure that anyone of the mentality of the extreme right wing, hateful and anti democracy, never again is a threat to come to office in America!

So those who wish to be the new Donald Trump, such as Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and others, must be denied any chance to be a national leader!

Both of those disgraceful Senators, as well as all others who attempted to overthrow an election result by insurrection, need to be expelled from Congress, and be prosecuted for their crimes!

These people who have committed treason must be added to the list of such traitors in history, including, the following—-Benedict Arnold, Aaron Burr, Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, Joseph McCarthy, and Donald Trump!

What a wonderful inauguration takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, January 20, 2021!

A President and Vice President who have empathy, compassion, common decency, and exceptional character to lead us out of the nightmare of Donald Trump and his racist, antisemitic, Islamophobic, nativist, and misogynist followers, offer recovery and advancement in the next four years!

If Donald Trump had won, our nation would be in the throes of a full scale Fascist dictatorship, and the attempted coup on January 6, thankfully, was overcome, but showed just how dangerous a situation we would be in if Trump had won, or stolen the election, as he clearly did with Russian collusion in 2016!

To deny the truth and reality is no longer going to be acceptable, and this author and blogger will not associate with anyone who tries to deny truth and reality about Donald Trump!

So tomorrow, we will have our second Catholic President of Irish ethnicity (after John F. Kennedy); our first woman and African and Asian heritage as our Vice President; and with our first Latina (Puerto Rican) Supreme Court Justice (Sonia Sotomayor) giving the oath to Kamala Harris; and with the first Second Gentleman, Douglas Emhoff, who is Jewish, bringing the highest level person of Jewish ethnicity into the top levels of government! We also will be bringing a true educator, Dr. Jill Biden, in as First Lady!

And also, we have our first Jewish Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer; and our first Jewish Senator from Georgia, Jon Ossoff; and the first African American Senator from Georgia, the Reverend Raphael Warnock (who was pastor at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, earlier having Martin Luther King, Jr as its pastor; and the first Latino Senator from California, Alex Padilla, with all three Senators being sworn in tomorrow when the Democrats take control of the US Senate!

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have major challenges not matched since Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt, and let all of us wish them the best, and knowing they have our backs!

60th Anniversary Of Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Farewell Address: One Of Three Greatest Farewell Addresses

President Dwight D. Eisenhower gave his Farewell Address to the nation sixty years ago today, and it reverberates through the ages, as we come upon the inauguration of a new President, on the heels of the nightmare of the absolutely worst Presidency in American history!

Eisenhower’s Farewell Address is rated as one of the greatest in American history, alongside George Washington in 1796 and Jimmy Carter in 1981.

Ike warned against the dangers of a military-industrial complex which would take us into overseas interventions and foreign wars that would undermine our nation.

Sadly, we have seen America engage in wars that have undermined our nation, specifically the escalation of the war in Vietnam, along with the decision to have a military presence in the Middle East as a result of the Persian Gulf War, and then, long drawn out wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

These interventions in the Middle East came after the Al Qaeda terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, and America has been permanently changed as a result.

And now, we face a threat of domestic terrorism out of control, as Donald Trump leaves office, with the backing of these domestic terrorists as they attacked the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, which complicates the challenges facing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, as they are inaugurated on January 20, 2021, three days from now!

Totally Outrageous That Military And Police Were Part Of Capitol Insurrection: Purging And Prosecution Required!

The growing evidence that military (retired and active), and law enforcement (retired and active) engaged in the US Capitol Insurrection on January 6, 2021 is totally outrageous, and the US government MUST go after such elements aggressively!

Any military or police who are active employees must be purged and prosecuted, as we cannot allow such individuals to continue to be engaged in violence, as they have demonstrated a lack of patriotism and loyalty to the nation they serve!

And any military or police who are retired, must fact trial and incarceration as traitors to their oath to protect and defend!

The idea that Donald Trump might issue a group pardon is infuriating, and must not be allowed to happen, or else, be overturned in the court system!

Three Republican Freshmen In Congress Who Should Be Expelled As Threats To Civil Order

The kooks have come out in the Republican Party, and there are at least three freshmen who should be expelled as threats to civil order and common decency.

These three members of the House have displayed that they are dangerous, extreme in their craziness, and unwilling to obey Congressional rules.

The first is Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, who is a full blown QAnon supporter, and plans to promote an impeachment resolution against the newly inaugurated President Joe Biden on his first full day as President on January 21, 2021.

A second is Lauren Boebert of Colorado, also a QAnon supporter, who carries firearms on her person against safety rules, and created a scene when asked to go through metal detectors as a result of the January 6, 2021 Capitol Hill Insurrection. She is a gun rights advocate who has also resisted cooperation in dealing with the COVID 19 Pandemic.

And the third is the youngest member of the House in many years, 25 year old Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina, who also packs weapons and resists metal detectors, using the excuse that he is in a wheel chair, and is not accountable to be searched as a result.

All three opposed the Electoral College ceremony for Joe Biden, and all three promote defiance and lack of cooperation, and come across as overly confrontational.

The Republican Party has become, more than ever, a party of dangerous and defiant membership, and all three show signs to any intelligent person as being mentally unstable and believers in conspiracy theories.

All three are under investigation for their possible involvement in the Insurrection, including possibly encouraging the events of that horrible day!

Domestic Terrorism At Its Peak As Inauguration Of Joe Biden Occurs Eight Days From Today

America is living through a literal nightmare, after the right wing Trumpist Fascist attack on the US Capitol Building on January 6!

Nearly a generation after the September 11, 2001 Attacks by Al Qaeda, we now have domestic terrorism at its peak as the inauguration of Joe Biden occurs eight days from today.

There are reported threats not just on Washington, DC, but also on all fifty state capitals in the next week, with plans revealed for a major threat on this coming weekend, and increasing as January 20 comes upon us!

And we have a unhinged, mentally deranged President now facing a second impeachment, which is justified, but will incite ever more reaction by lunatic seditionists and traitors.

That is why this author and blogger advocates that the inaugural ceremonies be held inside a fortified US Capitol building, not outside, as is customary!

In 1985, Ronald Reagan, then the oldest President at an inauguration, now to be surpassed by Joe Biden, had his second inauguration inside the US Capitol due to the coldest Inauguration Day in American history, with the temperature being 7 degrees Fahrenheit.

There are reports that a multitude of right wing, white supremacist, and neo Nazi groups are targeting not just the inauguration but other locations, and already, the Washington Monument has been shut down, and a high unscalable fence has been built around the US Capitol site, and also the Supreme Court across the street.

Washington DC is becoming a place where security and protection is forever changing due to a multitude of plots by extremists even before this disastrous January 6, 2021 event, and this is a sad, depressing time for American democracy!

But our constitutional system of government is worth fighting for, to protect the republic that has survived Civil War, the Great Depression, and two World Wars!

Sadly, America is in the most precarious situation since the Civil War, 160 years ago!

Even during the Civil War, the US Capitol and Washington, DC, while under threat from Southern Confederate military forces, never saw the secessionists enter the nation’s capital!

World War II was a dangerous time, but never was the US Capitol or Washington, DC in direct danger!

When Al Qaeda attacked on September 11, 2001, America was fortunate that an attempt to attack Washington, DC was unsuccessful, although the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia was successfully damaged!

But now, the danger of more attacks on the US Capitol, and Washington, DC, and threats to the lives of President Elect Joe Biden and Vice President Elect are very real, and makes the next ten days very precarious, but even beyond the inauguration!

We have now in the US Congress seditionists and traitors who continued to support Donald Trump in a phony challenge to clear cut election results, which were repudiated in over 60 legal cases, and twice by the Supreme Court, including all three Donald Trump appointees part of the unanimous majority in each case.

We have Senators such as Josh Hawley of Missouri and Ted Cruz of Texas, along with Congressmen including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California, House Minority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana, Jim Jordan of Ohio, Devin Nunes of California, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Louie Gohmert of Texas, and so many others, who rightfully should be expelled from Congress, and be considered as complicit in the violent attack on the US Capitol, which led to the deaths of five people, including a Capitol police officer.

And Donald Trump, his son Donald Trump, Jr. and Rudy Giuliani, who stirred up the crowd on January 6 to assault the Capitol should all face criminal charges!

No question, Joe Biden faces challenges even greater than Abraham Lincoln, as not only do we have millions of crazed people who are adopting extremist right wing and QAnon views, but they are capable of continuing violence and bloodshed, which could lead literally to a a second Civil War!

Potential Domestic Terrorism Threats In Days To Inauguration Day

With 11 days to go to Inauguration Day, there is intelligence information indicating many of the insurrectionists, domestic terrorists, supporters of Donald Trump, who mounted the attack on the US Capitol building on Wednesday, January 6, are planning further violence, and will be out to create a crime wave in Washington, DC and in all 50 state capitals between now and Inauguration Day.

There are already indications that Sunday January 17 will a see major invasion by armed traitors and seditionists, and that Inauguration Day, three days later, will present a massive crisis.

So it seems to this author and blogger that the smart thing would be to do what was done on Inauguration Day 1985, when President Ronald Reagan was sworn into his second term inside the US Capitol, instead of the traditional outside ceremonies.

The reason was Reagan was the oldest inaugurated President, nearly 74, and the temperature was 7 degrees Fahrenheit, the coldest ever temperature on Inauguration Day!

Crowds that might gather near the Capitol Building would need to be limited, and an ordinance passed to disallow anyone with a firearm at the event.

And law enforcement of various agencies must be at its maximum, and plans made to arrest thousands of domestic terrorists, with the aim being to protect the government and its new leadership.

There must be no sparing of efforts to protect Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Mike Pence, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Chief Justice John Roberts, and all of the government leaders and members of both political parties.

We must not allow domestic terrorists to hijack our tradition of a stable Inauguration Day 2021!
