Joe Biden, For All Who Are Realists, Is The Democratic Presidential Nominee!

Former Vice President Joe Biden performed magnificently last night, and for all realistic purposes, is the Democratic Presidential nominee in 2020.

Joe has often been underestimated and trashed by many for his shortcomings, which all politicians and all of us have, but he is a battler, a fighter, and should not be dismissed as a serious challenger to Donald Trump, who fears him, and did not want him as his opponent in November.

The Obama coalition of 2008 and 2012 is being revived, and the outlook is bright, as long as the Sanders supporters stop being sore losers, and back Joe Biden.

Senator Bernie Sanders’ impressive win in Nevada is a warning sign to many mainstream Democrats that he is unstoppable.

Not so fast, as one cannot judge the battle for the Democratic Presidential nomination based on three small states.

Super Tuesday will be the decisive moment, if any candidate can win the vast number of delegates from the 14 states having primaries on that date, including California, Texas, Minnesota, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Massachusetts.

After Nevada, however, the candidates that still have a chance to stop Bernie are likely Pete Buttigieg and Joe Biden, with the bet being that Pete is more likely.

The debate on CBS this coming Tuesday, followed by the South Carolina Primary on Saturday, will be the stepping stone for Tuesday, March 3!

Pure Insanity: $200 Million Spent On Campaign Commercials By Michael Bloomberg And Tom Steyer!

It is pure insanity that two Democratic Presidential contenders, Michael Bloomberg and Tom Steyer, both multi billionaires, have together spent $200 million on their Presidential campaign commercials, with Bloomberg wasting $120 million, and Steyer $80 million, more than all of the other Presidential contenders combined!

Bloomberg has not been willing to contend in the February caucuses and primaries, and has not participated in any debates, and seems to think he can buy his way into the Presidency, and he needs to be repudiated for that alone.

While Steyer has been competing in the caucus and primary states in February, and has been in a couple of debates, he must, also, be repudiated for using his personal wealth in pursuit of the Presidency.

The Citizens United case of the Supreme Court must be reversed somehow, but it seems highly unlikely anytime soon, as the only method is a constitutional amendment, or another case coming to the Supreme Court and leading to a reversal, nearly impossible in the present political climate of the Court, with two new Trump appointees, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

But the Democratic voters need to give a smashing repudiation to both Bloomberg and Steyer once the voting starts in five and a half weeks from now!

Money Battle For 2020 Presidential Campaign Favors Trump, And Gives Bloomberg And Steyer An Argument For Their Candidacies For President

The Donald Trump Presidential campaign is spending more than all Democrats combined, and that is very worrisome.

This is all due to the Citizens United Case of the Supreme Court in 2010, allowing corporations and individuals to spend as much as they want.

This makes a case for a billionaire such as Michael Bloomberg or Tom Steyer to be the nominee, since they can outspend or match the Trump campaign, although neither competes well in the polls, and only Steyer has been in some of the debates.

Sadly, this could end up the results, although far from desirable.

It would disillusion millions of Democrats, however, who might stay home and not vote.

It will be interesting to see how caucus and primary voters react to Bloomberg and Steyer, and if they react that these two candidates are viable due to their financial resources.

Latest Monmouth University Poll Shows Three Way Tie For Democratic Nomination

The latest Monmouth University poll shows Joe Biden slipping slightly behind Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, a sign of trouble for the former Vice President.

All three are basically in a statistical tie, but it is clear that Joe Biden is losing support, at least for now.

Many observers believe that neither Bernie Sanders nor Elizabeth Warren can win the Presidency, as they would be labeled “Socialists” and other nasty labels by Conservatives, Republicans, and Donald Trump.

This development is a warning for more centrist Democrats of a younger generation to make their move forward at the next Democratic debate in Houston in mid September.

It is now clear that the top three, all of whom would be older than Donald Trump upon inauguration first term, and Sanders and Biden actually older, is not the best future for the Democratic Party.

Rather, it would seem clear that Pete Buttigieg, Julian Castro, Cory Booker, and Kamala Harris, all a generation or more younger than the top three Democratic contenders, would be a better choice, just as was the case with John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama over the past half century!

Yet Another Democratic Presidential Contender: Billionaire Tom Steyer

The Democrats have yet another Presidential contender, billionaire Tom Steyer, who earlier had led a movement to impeach Donald Trump.

The last thing we need is yet another billionaire, entitled, non officeholder President, even if he is, in theory, a progressive.

Steyer does not plan to run a campaign based on contributions from Americans, but instead to spend $100 million of his own fortune, upending the whole idea that elitist money should not dominate the campaign.

The question is whether he can even participate in future debates, based on public opinion poll support, and hopefully, his attempt to do so will be an utter failure.

At least, Michael Bloomberg, former NYC Mayor, who flirted with running, chose not to, although he had thought of spending his own money, and at least he had government experience, unlike Steyer.

The best advice to Steyer is find something else to spend on, including helping migrants and refugees who are suffering on the border due to the Fascist policies of Donald Trump.

Use your money in a constructive way, Tom Steyer, rather than an egomania binge!

Yet Another Presidential Contender: Governor Steve Bullock Of Montana

We already have 20 Democratic Presidential contenders, and now another one is imminent: Montana Governor Steve Bullock. It has been made public that he will announce in two weeks, in mid May.

It would seem that Bullock could be dismissed as a serious candidate, but looking at his record gives one pause.

Bullock is 53, making him one of the younger potential Presidents, and he has been successful in a heavily Republican state, first as Attorney General from 2009-2013, and then as a two term Governor, elected in 2012 and again in 2016. He is also the Chair of the National Governor’s Association, elected last year to that position, which gives him more publicity and attention.

Bullock has been rated the most popular Democratic Governor in public opinion polls, and has managed to be effective with a heavily opposition controlled Republican legislature, with Democrats having been able to hold on to the Governor’s chair despite Republican statewide dominance, with Brian Schweitzer for eight years before Bullock, along with one Senate seat, that of Senator Jon Tester. He was the only incumbent Democratic Governor to win reelection in a state that Donald Trump won in 2016.

To survive as a Democrat, Bullock, like Tester, is a moderate Democrat, but he is pro choice; a believer in climate change; is supported by organized labor; refuses to cooperate with immigration authorities on the issue of separation of families on the border with Mexico; supports net neutrality; favors campaign finance reform; and backs gay marriage.

Bullock has emphasized the need for Democrats to gain support from rural and suburban areas, rather than focusing on urban areas, the traditional Democratic base. His visits in 2018 to Iowa and New Hampshire fueled belief he would announce for President, and now it is imminent.

As a moderate centrist Democrat, however, he is competing with Joe Biden, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke, and Pete Buttigieg, and possibly others whose ideas are not fully developed as of yet. So the odds that a man from Montana could go all the way seems unlikely, but of course, he could be a Vice Presidential choice of the Democratic Presidential candidate.
