Donald Trump Declares War On The News Media: A Dictator In The Making!

Donald Trump has declared war on the news media, at his tempestuous press conference at Trump Tower yesterday, called to explain the issue of the raising of funds to help veterans, which he had declared as a goal in January, and had never been held accountable for for the past four months.

Trump insulted several reporters specifically, and made clear there would be combat between the news media and the Trump White House if he was elected, making for the absolute worst possible relationship with the media, worse than Richard Nixon!

This is alarming, and every effort must be made to insure that Trump does not win the Presidency, as his Fascist leanings and dictatorial manner is terrifying, and portends potential destruction of American democracy.

Trump’s tirade reminds many of Vice President Spiro Agnew under Nixon, vilifying the press in a disgraceful way!

Interesting. From Pragmatic Progressive’s Washington Post link: Judge Curiel is a member of an association called “The Race Lawyers Association of San Diego”. A supremacist I see.

  2. Former Republican June 2, 2016 11:20 am

Thanks for that Pragmatic. Trump is a disgrace and places every institution in this country in grave peril as he undermines every principle this country has been on built on.

  3. Southern Liberal June 2, 2016 11:23 am

The La Raza organization the judge belongs to isn’t the same as the one that haunts Mercy’s nightmares. 😉

  4. Pragmatic Progressive June 2, 2016 11:28 am

    LOL! Totally right Southern Liberal!

  5. Rational Lefty June 2, 2016 11:43 am

LOL! In every press conference, picture, etc., the people who are standing behind Trump look extremely uncomfortable.

  6. Mercy June 2, 2016 12:42 pm

Southern: You mean it’s ok for an organization to be based on The Race? Interesting.

  7. Pragmatic Progressive June 2, 2016 1:44 pm

Since our RW troll obviously didn’t read the article, here is the quote that explains it —-

Katrina Pierson, a spokeswoman for Trump, has expanded on the accusations of bias, wrongly suggesting Curiel is part of a group organizing protests at Trump rallies around California. Curiel is a member of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, a professional group that she appeared to confuse with the National Council of La Raza, an advocacy group.

Luis Osuna, the president of the lawyers association, said the group is not an advocacy group and supports candidates on both sides of the aisle. He said Trump’s attempts to discredit Curiel should give voters serious pause, not least because his comments reduce Hispanics in the legal profession to their heritage.

LOL! Our RW troll needs to take some meds and take off his tin foil hat.

Here is the mission statement of this nefarious lawyers’ association:

Our purpose is to advance the cause of equality, empowerment and justice for Latino attorneys and the Latino community in San Diego County through service and advocacy. We are dedicated to promoting diversity on both the bench and bar. We support law students with mentorship programs and scholarships.

The National Council of La Raza, with which the San Diego group is affiliated, is equally seditious. “Our mission is to improve [Latinos’] opportunities for success in achieving the American Dream,” says the council. George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain have spoken at its gatherings. So have Bush’s attorney general, Alberto Gonzales; Bush’s former commerce secretary, Carlos Gutierrez; Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval of Nevada; and Sen. Mel Martinez, who was Bush’s housing secretary. Gonzales served on the board of NCLR’s Houston affiliate, the Association for the Advancement of Mexican-Americans.

No, I am talking about the correct association “The Race Lawyers Association of San Diego” not “The National Council for The Race”. As for endorsing candidates from both sides of the aisle, I call their B.S. All you have to do is bother yourself to their site and checkout their endorsements, all Democrats. Rafael Castellanos, a Democrat. Chris Ward a Democrat. Judge Keri Katz, Democrat. As for reducing Hispanics in the legal profession to their heritage, well you can’t reduce them more to their heritage than by creating a “LA RAZA Lawyers Association”

We are posting facts. Our RW troll is posting bigotry.

Perhaps our RW troll is really tRump in disguise. 😉

“La Raza” does not mean “the race”. The term “La Raza” has its origins in early 20th century Latin American literature and translates into English most closely as “the people” or, according to some scholars, as “the Hispanic people of the New World.” The term was coined by Mexican scholar José Vasconcelos to reflect the fact that the people of Latin America are a mixture of many of the world’s races, cultures, and religions.

Former Republican – Righties are so difficult to educate. Must be the way their brains are wired.

  14. Mercy June 2, 2016 3:13 pm

Princess Leia. I have a bi-cultural education, meaning I was not only born and raised in the US but also studied and lived many years abroad in Latin America because of my South American parents, and I can tell you one thing, Vasconcelo and Mexico does not represent the rest of Latin America. Just because he made up that definition of word “raza”, doesn’t mean it reflect what it means in the rest of Latin America. As matter of fact Mexican culture is irrelevant to the rest of Latin America, especially south of Panama. Anyone in Latin america outside of Mexico would laugh at that definition of “la raza”. Ask a Colombian, Peruvian, Chilean, Argentinian, Venezuelan or Bolivian, anyone in South America and they would say that la raza means the race, not this made up “the people” B.S. No one in South America uses that term for the people, they use instead “el pueblo” or “la masa” but never “la raza”.

  15. Pragmatic Progressive June 2, 2016 4:14 pm

Our new RW troll just outed himself as, Juan, our old RW troll! 😉

  16. Mercy June 2, 2016 4:16 pm

? You people are perplexing indeed..

  17. Pragmatic Progressive June 2, 2016 5:50 pm

Leia – This “La Raza = The Race” meme that Mercy/Juan is spouting is being spouted by other RW trolls as well on comments sections of various news stories about this.

  18. Princess Leia June 2, 2016 8:08 pm

Ah. Their talking points for the day. Probably brainwashed into them by Hannity.

  19. Rational Lefty June 2, 2016 9:27 pm

Former Republican – It’s as Leia said in another post. Republican brains aren’t hardwired to believe facts.

  20. Southern Liberal June 2, 2016 9:42 pm

What Trump is doing is sinister: He’s implying that taking pride in one’s ethnicity indicates that you’re not proud of being an American. He’s nonchalantly calling, by extension, the patriotism of millions of nonwhite Americans into question.

  21. Rustbelt Democrat June 2, 2016 9:44 pm

We’re going to need chin straps by the end of the election. If we continue to have to walk around with our jaws dropped over Trump’s latest declaration of the “world according to Donald” bugs will fly in.

  22. Mercy June 3, 2016 1:39 pm

Is the media going to hold Hillary accountable for the violence her Mexican & Chicano Democrat voters carrying Mexican flags inflicted on American flag carrying Trump supporters? Is the media going to hold her accountable for the violence American flag burning African-American Democrat voters generated yesterday? I don’t think so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9keMHzmpo2s

  23. Princess Leia June 3, 2016 2:05 pm

Most of the protesters are peaceful but there are anarchists participating in these protests who vote for third parties or who don’t bother to vote at all.

  24. Pragmatic Progressive June 3, 2016 2:13 pm

Exactly right Leia. Not every one in these protests is violent and not everyone in them vote for Democrats.

  25. Rational Lefty June 3, 2016 2:34 pm

Judging by the crowd, many of these protesters are young, so I would say they are more likely to be Bernie supporters than Hillary supporters, if they’ve been voting for any Democrats during the primaries.

Bernie and Hillary have both denounced the violence. However, Trump needs to do so too, because his rhetoric is what makes the protesters mad.

  26. Former Republican June 3, 2016 2:58 pm

Absolutely right Rational Lefty. The violence isn’t one sided. Trump is the one inciting the violence.
