Congressman George Santos Likely To Be Expelled From NY House Seat

Republican Congressman George Santos is in danger of being expelled from his New York House seat.

This would be a very rare result, as only 20 members of Congress in all of American history, 15 in the Senate and 5 in the House of Representatives, have been voted out by two thirds of their colleagues.

All but three were expelled due to their support of the Confederacy in the Civil War.

A few who have been threatened with explusion have resigned instead.

The proper thing would be for Santos to resign, but it looks as if he is not about to do so, despite having brought disgrace on the House of Representatives.

We shall see very soon whether Santos joins a very short list of expelled members!

Disturbing Right Wing Trend In International Affairs, Mirroring Donald Trump!

As the threat of Donald Trump continues to be a menace, we are seeing in international affairs a troubling and disturbing trend of right wing populism, mirroring his extremism.

Already, this has been evident in Turkey, Poland, Hungary, Italy, and now The Netherlands, along with Egypt, India, Myanmar, and now Argentina, and dangers of right wing extremism threatening to rise in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere.

Religion, whether Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist is a growing factor in these nations.

It seems as if the world is moving back into the Fascism movement that was so prominent in the 1930s and 1940s.

Fascinating Fox News Channel Debate Of Gavin Newsom And Ron DeSantis on Thursday November 30!

This coming Thursday, November 30, Fox News Channel will host a 90 minute debate, of California Governor Gavin Newsom and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, with Sean Hannity as the moderator, and with no audience.

This may well be the most significant debate of the upcoming campaign for the Presidency, as it could destroy Ron DeSantis for 2024, and elevate Gavin Newsom for a future race for the Democratic nomination for the Presidency in 2028.

DeSantis has done so poorly so far in his race for the Republican nomination, and this debate against a man much more intelligent and brilliant than he is, could destroy his national ambitions for the future, even beyond 2024!

Threat Presented By Third Party And Independent Presidential Candidates In 2024

The possibility of third party or independent Presidential candidates affecting the election results in the Presidential Election of 2024 is real.

While no such candidate could win the Presidency, they could determine whether President Joe Biden or Donald Trump or any alternative Republican Presidential nominee wins the White House.

Minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips is challenging Joe Biden in Democratic primaries, as is Marianne Williamson, but they are highly unlikely to have any impact, other than as an annoyance.

But Independent candidates such as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr; Cornel West; Jill Stein on the Green Party line; and the No Labels Movement, with a potential nominee in Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, could derail election results and lead to major election issues.

Nikki Haley Emerges As Only Possible Alternative To Donald Trump

Former South Carolina Governor and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has emerged as the only possible alternative to Donald Trump for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2024.

But the question is whether, even with growing business support, Haley can manage to overcome Trump in the upcoming Presidential caucus in Iowa and the Presidential primaries in New Hampshire, Nevada, and most significantly, her home state of South Carolina.

The decision of fellow South Carolinian, Senator Tim Scott, to drop out of the race certainly helps Haley’s bid, but leading South Carolina Republican figures, including Governor Henry McMaster and Senator Lindsey Graham, have endorsed Trump.

Also, can a woman of South Asian ancestry from India overcome those barriers?

The next few months will answer these questions!

Rosalynn And Jimmy Carter: Their Significance In American History Growing!

With the passing of First Lady Rosalynn Carter, and the further weakening of former President Jimmy Carter in his 100th year, their significance in American History is growing.

Often overlooked and ignored, it is clear that Rosalynn Carter transformed the position of First Lady in ways not realized at the time, as she became a true partner of her husband, just about as much as Vice President Walter Mondale.

The Carter-Mondale relationship was transformative, as was the interaction of the First Lady with her husband in affecting American government policies.

And the longest post Presidency in American history also has had an effect on Jimmy Carter’s reputation!

And with Jimmy Carter in his twilight time, his impact is being assessed in a more positive way, including his environmental policies; his Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt; his negotiation of the Panama Canal treaty; his recognition of mainland China; and his promotion of human rights as a major instrument of American foreign policy, as among the attributes of his Presidency.

60th Anniversary Of JFK Assassination: It Still Reverberates Through America!

It is now 60 years, six decades, three generations, since our youngest elected President, John F. Kennedy, was taken from us by the tragedy of political assassination.

No event has so affected American history as much as this horrifying bloodshed, since the Abraham Lincoln Assassination a century earlier.

The impact of this assassination changed the course of the future of American history, mostly in a negative fashion, including the assassination of his brother, Robert Kennedy, less than five years after the shocking event of November 22, 1963!

Death Of Rosalynn Carter A Major Loss To Nation!

The death of Rosalynn Carter took place on the 160th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettyburg Address, an irony, as she and her husband Jimmy Carter represent a different kind of South in their social justice mission.

Remember that Jimmy Carter was the first Southerner elected to the Presidency since Zachary Taylor in 1848.

The couple represented a progressive tradition on race, and a concern about other than themselves, as they both dedicated their lives to advancing of society and international cooperation.

Rosalynn Carter will stand out as the most significant First Lady chronologically since Eleanor Roosevelt, making the position of First Lady much more interacting and engaged than it had ever been before. She was a true partner of her husband in his responsibilities and duties as President.

Whether her husband can live on for long without her will be a question on many people’s minds, as Jimmy Carter has good odds that he might live to be a centenarian in less than ten and a half months with his 100th birthday on October 1, 2024.

Joe Biden At Age 81—Physically Fit, Solid Record Of Accomplishment, Safe For Future!

President Joe Biden is 81 years of age today, and on this birthday, we wish the President all the best.

Despite his age, Joe Biden is physically fit, has a solid record of accomplishment, and is a safe, competent choice for the next four years.

The likely Republican opponent, Donald Trump, is none of the above, and is a danger to the nation and the international community, with his raving and threats to establish an authoritarian Fascist government if he ends up in the White House!

Joe Biden has accomplished more in domestic affairs than any President since Lyndon B. Johnson, and has provided strong international leadership, solidifying NATO, and backing Ukraine and Israel, two crucial situations that will affect the future of world affairs.

Biden has always been underrated, and faces strong headwinds in the upcoming Presidential Election of 2024, but he represents the survival and stability of American democracy and international stability!

Let all decent people wish Joe Biden a Happy Birthday, and support this decent, compassionate man as he faces challenges greater than any President since World War II!

160th Anniversary Of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address!

Today, 160 years ago, in 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered his two minute, ten sentence famous Gettysburg Address, arguably one of the greatest Presidential speeches in American history, despite its brevity.

Honoring the dead of both the Union side and Confederate side in the third year of the Civil War, the brief statement was panned at the time, but over the years came to be regarded as a brilliant, statesmanlike speech.

It has been glorified ever since as a sign of reconciliation, and recognition of the tragedy of the great loss of life in the Battle of Gettysburg in Pennsylvania on July 1, 2, and 3, 1863.

It added greatly to the historic stature of Abraham Lincoln, and a model for statesmanship!
