The Republican Party in Congress has gone totally whacko, becoming a party which continues to deny that Joe Biden won the Presidency, and seeing Donald Trump as a God like figure, with Christian extremists saying Trump will become President again soon, totally delusional!
There are only a few sane Republicans at this point, including most notably, Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse, Liz Cheney, and Adam Kinzinger.
If the Republican Party is to come back to the mainstream, which seems highly questionable, it will be people such as these four and a small group of others that will be in leadership.
A first thought that comes to mind is a future ticket of say, Ben Sasse and Adam Kinziger, both mainstream conservatives which this author and blogger would not vote for, but seen as sane and competent.
But the question is whether the Republican Party will survive as a mainstream party, with their cult like worship of an extremely flawed President, Donald Trump, who has become a burden on the nation at large!
