Donald Trump is once again proving his lack of basic decency, by following through on a massive indoor rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the day after the celebration of the end of slavery on June 19, 1865, when African Americans in Texas were informed that the Civil War was over, and that they were free men and women, what is called Juneteenth.
But it is also the 99th anniversary of the worst race riot in American history, destroying the prosperous black community in Tulsa, and at least 300 people killed.
But Donald Trump, being an open racist, does not care about the history, and also the exposure of a large number of Trump followers who will be close together, without social distancing and no requirement to wear face masks, in the middle of the CoronaVirus Pandemic, that has killed 120,000 people so far.
How much more immoral and unethical could Donald Trump be? But he has shown a total lack of concern for human life, and loves to promote hate and division.
So expect a major increase in the pandemic in Oklahoma and nearby states in the days and weeks after this massive rally!

Tell me, Professor: Has there been a “major increase in pandemic” Cases and especially Deaths in those places where folks went to Easter Sunday services? Or in those places that had all those anti-lockdown protests quite some time ago? Or in those places that held protests and riots more recently?
Trump chose Juneteenth and Tulsa for a very specific reason: to give America and its media another reality-tv Spectacle. One can only wonder not “If” the protests against Trump’s rally will turn violent; but “How” violent and deadly they will get. And if the rioters, arsonists, and looters will take advantage of the chaos to make their appearance.
All that notwithstanding, permit me, Dr Feinman, to ask You a couple of questions that seek Your answers from the perspective of: 1] a Professional Historian, and 2] the “Progressive Professor.”
Question 1 is this: What is[are] Your type-1] and -2] perspective[s] and read[s] on the events in Seattle, and the self-declared CHAZ [or is it CHOP?; ISIS was at various times, as i recall, ISI, ISL, ISIL, etc], and its “occupation” of parts of the home of the Seahawks, Mariners, Boeing, and so forth?
Specifically, how do You think these folks will fare as compared to their historical precedential colleagues, companions, cohorts, and compeers at “OCCUPY Wall Street” back in the late 00s, or the WTO events back in the very late 90s and early 00s? Or the anti-Iraq Invasion protests in 2003 in between? Or, for that matter, the anti-Viet Nam War efforts back in the 60s?
Do You think CHAZ/CHOD will actually, really accomplish anything? And if so, What?
2. How do You compare and contrast the Riots in 1968 following Dr King’s death to these following Mr Floyd’s? Did those riots accomplish anything for anybody except Nixon? Are these accomplishing anything for anybody besides Trump?

On another note: Statues of Washington and Jefferson have been destroyed, defaced, or de-commissioned all over the country. Apparently, it’s not just Confederate “treasonists and traitors” who are now open to attack.
Maybe when they tear down the monuments in Swampland, they’ll rename the town, as well, eh?

Jeffrey, I may be a progressive, but always mainstream, as I never, personally, demonstrated or marched against the war in Vietnam 50 years ago, or approved of any of the other marches and demonstrations that have led to lawlessness since then.
However, I do not wish to tar everyone who did so at any point as unAmerican or unpatriotic, as I do believe in the First Amendment being employed responsibly.
Sadly, those who go too far only inflame others, and they did help Richard Nixon back then, and do the same for Donald Trump now.
Regarding the attacks on statues and monuments, I do NOT support any of it, and while the fact of many of the early Presidents being slave owners is clearly disturbing, we cannot allow that to justify such attacks.
So I may have disappointed you into thinking I am a radical, when I most certainly are not such, just as I never had long hair lol fifty years ago, and was not approving of those who were hippies, lol.
I notice many things I do not like, but keep it to myself, as I do not believe in personal confrontation, and am peace oriented in that regard!
