Trumpites Put Profit Above Life With Actions In Michigan And Kentucky, And At Houses Of Worship

It is now clear that Trumpites put profit above life, as shown by their marches and demonstrations in Michigan, Kentucky, and threatened actions in North Carolina, Virginia, and Ohio, protesting the shutdowns ordered by those states’ Democratic governors and Ohio’s Republican Governor.

A number of Christian houses of worship, run by pastors who are always looking for adulation and money, also have endangered their clueless, gullible congregants by holding Easter Sunday services, and denouncing what they call interference with freedom of religion. That was not the purpose of the states’ governors who worry about the spread of the CoronaVirus.

It is essential for the Democratic governors, along with the intelligent, sensible Republican governors of states, including Massachusetts, Maryland, and Ohio, to hold fast and not give in to pressure to reopen society at a delicate time as now!

Who was that guy who said “Judge not, lest Ye be Judged”?

How many of those “Trumpites” do You honestly think were out there on the streets today were there for “profit”? How many were business owners, corporate executives, and shareholders, versus laid-off workers and laborers with mortgages or rents, and/ or personal loan, car or credit card debts to pay? And/or groceries to buy, or kids’ teeth to get fixed, or whatever? Or are You using the term “profit” as in paycheck?

And on what possible basis whatsoever do You deign to call people who gathered for Easter services “clueless and gullible”? What particular moral high ground do You claim to hold from which You can legitimately set Yourself up to be the prosecutor, judge, jury, and executioner of these people?

My guess is that if any of this was going on in a state governed by a Trumpite Republican that was shutdown, that You would probably be cheering them on.

Trump Refuses to Do the One Thing That Is Necessary to Reopen the Economy
So once again, Democrats are stepping up to the plate.

    https://washingtonmonthly.com/2020/04/17/trump-refuses-to-do-the-one-thing-that-is-necessary-to-reopen-the-economy/

I recently wrote that we have no idea how many coronavirus cases there are in the U.S. because testing has been extremely limited. The Biden campaign just released a video that makes the same point.
    See Twitter video: twitter.com/chrislongview/status/1250231153577070593

As the president obsesses about reopening the economy, this lack of testing becomes even more serious. Without a comprehensive testing initiative, it is impossible to track the path and penetration of the coronavirus, something that must be done in order to assure Americans that it is safe to go back to work.

It isn’t just public health experts that are sounding the alarm about reopening the economy prior to adequate testing. We’re hearing the same thing from both governors and business leaders.

[On Wednesday, Trump held calls with business leaders aimed at figuring out how to scale back the distancing measures. Over and over, the executives made the same request: better testing. More testing. And testing that covers both of our hypotheticals, tests to track the spread of the coronavirus in the community and tests that allow businesses to protect their workforces.]

In typical Trump fashion, the president passed on taking any responsibility.

[“We want the states to administer these tests, for the most part,” Trump said. “But we’re standing behind them. We have great tests…We have the best tests of any country in the world…We want them to do it,” Trump said.]

As a result, Senate Democrats are stepping up to the plate.

[Senate Democratic leadership rolled out a proposal on Wednesday to ramp up nationwide coronavirus testing, which public health officials have said will be key to lifting social distancing measures.
The plan — unveiled by Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and other members of leadership — would provide $30 billion in emergency funding to increase testing and build out a structure for administering tests across the country…
Democrats are also recommending Congress establish a $4.5 billion per year fund for public health infrastructure that could be used to strengthen the ability to increase testing and the ability to trace who an infected individual has been in contact with.]

What we have is yet another example of a president who refuses to take responsibility, Republican leadership that remains silent, and Democrats doing what is necessary to protect the health of the American people.

Brian Williams was showing clips from Fox News on his show last night. They’re stirring this mess up.

When we get a vaccine, these people are mostly likely going to be anti-vaxxers.

Virginia isn’t going to “liberate” anytime soon. Just today, we had an increase in 600 new cases. These fools are just going to have to be patient a while longer.

Trump is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

I would consider those tweets as inciting rebellion.

Thanks, Princess Leia, for that article from the nurse.

It is amazing how little Americans appreciate their care givers!

Rustbelt Democrat, it is more clear than ever that Donald Trump is “a clear and present danger” to the nation, and must be removed, somehow, from office, as he IS inciting rebellion at a time of a spreading pandemic that could still kill millions of Americans, not just thousands as so far! 🙁

Actually, someone needs to liberate the United States of America from the malignant narcissistic authoritarian incompetent sociopathic nutjob-in chief.

    Bravo! Bravo!

I am in total agreement, as this has become the greatest crisis in American history since at least the Civil War, and could be worse than that, if it continues for a long time! 🙁

Pence briefed Democratic senators on COVID-19. It did not go well.

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/4/17/1938186/-Pence-briefed-Democratic-senators-on-COVID-19-It-did-not-go-well

Vice President Mike Pence and Trump administration officials finally acknowledged the existence of Senate Democrats as a part of the nation’s governing coalition Friday. Sort of. They held a conference call with the senators, and the reviews are not good.

“Livid,” is how one Democrat on the call described the group, which did not get any good answers out of the call. Sen. Angus King, Maine’s independent who caucuses with Democrats, reportedly called the administration’s response to the crisis, particularly the failure to get testing ramped up, a “dereliction of duty.” According to sources on the call, he told Pence, “I have never been so mad about a phone call in my life.” After the call, he “was still very angry” when interviewed by Washington Post reporter Seung Min Kim, telling her “I can’t discern a national strategy (for testing) … I can’t even discern what the goal is.”

“The fundamental problem is a lack of capacity which at this point they can’t fix,” a Democrat on the call told Politico. “So they are explaining it away. […] Everyone was livid.” They still are. “The Trump administration doesn’t even have a target for the number of tests we need to be able to manage this health care crisis. It’s beyond unbelievable,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren told Boston Globe reporter Jess Bidgood. Sen. Maggie Hassan tweeted that “it is deeply concerning that the administration still doesn’t have a plan to track daily testing capacity in every lab in the country, publicly release that data, and put forward a plan and timeline for identifying gaps.”

Sen. Tim Kaine, Democrat of Virginia, wanted some accountability for Trump’s earlier tweet, an aide on the call told CNN’s Betsy Klein, and “asked Pence why the President was trying to incite division in the midst of a global pandemic.” Pence, the aide said, “tried to deflect by talking about how they are working respectfully with Governors, and Kaine jumped back in to say that those tweets are not at all respectful.”

So, yeah, that didn’t go so well. It also probably did nothing to weaken unity among Senate Democrats in fighting for what the country needs.

Trump show today should be rather interesting.

Just heard that the mayor in Jacksonville, Florida reopened the beach.

It’s like I said before, these Republican officials are like the mayor in Jaws, allowing people to go into the ocean, even though there’s a killer shark in the water.

    Perfect analogy, Former Republican
