The Trump White House Reaches A New Low: Condemning Marie Yovanovitch and Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman

Donald Trump’s White House has reached a new low, employing character assassination of public servants doing their job in reporting the wrongdoings on Ukraine to the House Impeachment investigation.

Trump has blasted both former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch and National Security Council member Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, questioning their loyalty and their honesty, and putting both of them in direct threat of reprisal encouraged by right wing forces, including Fox News Channel and specific hate mongers in conservative talk radio, outlined yesterday on this blog.

Also Republican House members of the Intelligence Committee, including Jim Jordan of Ohio and Devin Nunes of California, were totally demagogic and despicable in their attempt to besmirch the reputation of both Yovanovitch and Vindman, as well as other witnesses, accusing them of espionage and dual loyalties. The lack of respect for Vindman wearing his uniform was shocking, and the fact that he came to this country as a toddler being seen as an attack on immigration was condemnatory.

We have never seen such behavior by any other President, and that should be another issue for impeachment, and now, even Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in the “dog house”, as Trump is reported to be blaming him for the various witnesses testifying, many of whom are connected to the State Department, although Pompeo does not personally know many of them.

The Trump White House is deteriorating ever further before our eyes, and undermining American foreign policy, as well as destroying any progress on any basic issue, as Donald Trump flails in the wind in a crazy manner, added to by the chest issue he had that led him to go to Walter Reed Medical Center this past weekend.

It is time for mass marches to demand the resignation of this crooked, immoral, unethical, disastrous President, and his indictment, trial, conviction, and incarceration in federal prison!

Ohhh Yeah…: That’s exactly what this country needs: Mass Marches To Overthrow POTUS Maximus XLV.

What do You have in mind, Professor: Another Bolivia?

Yeah…; i can see it now. Mass marchers of anti-Trumpers taking to the streets, “singing songs and carrying signs, mostly sayin’… . ”

To be met by mass counter-marchers of wrapped-in-the-flag/carrying-a-bible Trumpatistas, 2d Amendmenters, Proud Boyz, and anybody else with a hard-on against American leftists, libtards, LGBTers, commies, socialists, and any other traitorous scum. Plus America’s militarized police [and, if necessary, its domesticated military].

Sounds like a grand time for all. Certainly would be a reality-tv hit, eh?

Mass marches to “demand [Trump’s] resignation…indictment, trial, conviction, and incarceration in federal prison!” will accomplish about as much as that mass march 50 years ago did toward ending the Viet Nam War, or the marches in 2003 did to prevent the 2nd Gulf War.

The Left’s time, effort, energy, money, political capital, opportunity cost, and life force would be much better spent occupying every office and chamber on Capital Hill and demanding:

    1. An immediate end [by defunding] to the Cheney/Bush the Lesser-Obomber-Corporal Bonespurs Forever War, and the foreign policy and domestic politics that keeps it going.

    2. An immediate focus on and actually, really dealing with:

    a. The American federal government’s $23 trillion and growing by $1 trillion/year national, sovereign debt [along with the similarly burgeoning debt of its state and local governments].

    b. The looming bankruptcies of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, and other government, corporate, private, and personal Entitlement programs.

    3. To each US Senator and Representative who is a Climate Change Denier, give them and demand that they read, react and respond to, and ~ if they can ~ rebut, refute, and rebuke the recent US government document that states:

    1. That “Climate Change” is real.
    2. That the Planet in general ~ and the United States in particular ~ is already experiencing the effects of Climate Change, and the problems it can, does, and will cause.
    3. That the United States is currently ill-prepared to deal with those problems that are inevitable.
    4. That America’s energy and power, water and sanitation, and transportation and information infrastructures, in particular, are currently extremely vulnerable to failure in the face of those problems.
    5. That America’s military is currently ill-prepared to deal with the problems that the collapse of those critical infrastructures will present.
    6. That America’s military is rapidly becoming ill-prepared to deal with the problems that Climate Change has already caused, is causing, and will continue to cause all over the Planet, particularly in those areas rich in oil and other natural resources, and/or increasingly short on water.
    7. That immediate steps should be taken to correct the problems detailed in items 4, 5, and 6 above.

IMPLICATIONS OF CLIMATE CHANGE FOR THE U.S. ARMY was released by the Army’s Center for Climate and Security, and is available for study at its climateandsecurity.org .

Demanding all that would accomplish a whole hell of a lot more than demanding Trump’s ouster. And it would do a whole hell of a lot more to awaken this nation to the fact that it is on a collision course with reality that ~ if not dealt with in a timely and effective manner ~ is going to get ugly.

How much does anybody want to bet that the words “Debt,” “Deficit,” and “Bankruptcy” will not be spoken ~ let alone spoken of ~ at tonite’s Candidates Debate? Those words have not been heard in any of the previous debates; why should it in tonite’s?

Jeffrey, occupying every office on Capitol Hill would lead to intervention by force of the government, while marches are perfectly legal, but not the stopping of the government.

Trump is a would be dictator, and must be removed by demand, freedom of assembly to redress grievances!

Good to see that our very bad “president” had a very bad day today.

Ronald: “Jeffrey, occupying every office on Capitol Hill would lead to intervention by force of the government, while marches are perfectly legal, but not the stopping of the government.”

Riiiiiiiggghhhtttt. Like I said: marches to oust, convict, and imprison Trump [why stop there? Why not summary execution while You’re at it?] will accomplish exactly what the Moratorium accomplished in 1969, and what all the protests, marches, etc, did in 2003: Absolutely Nothing.

If the so-called American anti-War/Peace and Social Justice Warriors had taken it upon themselves to occupy Congress and refuse to leave in 2003 until the 2d Gulf War was declared illegal and then un- or de-funded, things might be very different today in Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Libya, Somalia, etc.

R: “Trump is a would be dictator, and must be removed by demand, freedom of assembly to redress grievances!”

Sorry, Doc; that’s not how the system works. Nobody is removed by demands from a mob prancing thru the streets, freely assembling to address their grievances[!!!]

Just remember: if You and Your cohorts can overthrow a President by marching in the streets, what’s going to happen when Your Boy or Girl is in the White House, and another group of citizens with grievances to redress decides to use Your precedent to get rid of Your President?

How would You like them apples?

And one last question: What do You plan to do about all those wrapped-in-the-flag/carrying-a-bible Trumpatistas, 2d Amendmenters, Proud Boyz, and anybody else with a hard-on against American leftists, libtards, LGBTers, commies, progressives, socialists, anti-fas, and any other traitorous vermin and scum? Plus America’s militarized police [and, if necessary, its domesticated military] ?

WELP…; Debate #5 has come and gone and once again, the words “Debt,” “Deficit,” and “Bankruptcy” were not even whispered, let alone talked about. [Except student loan debt, which was mentioned 5 times; 3 times by Elizabeth Warren in one paragraph.]

“Debt” was not mentioned with one exception: Senator Klobuchar did use the word “debt” like this: “When you look at my website, you will see my plans and you’re also going to see how I’m going to pay for it. AND I THINK THAT IS SO IMPORTANT, BECAUSE THIS PRESIDENT IS LITERALLY INCREASING THE DEBT, treating our farmers and workers like… .”

“This President in literally increasing the Debt”??? That debt could and would not be increasing if the Democrat-controlled House had not gone along with it. And Klobuchar and every other Democratic Senator on the debate stage voted for the Debt Ceiling Limit Deal Pelosi and Schumer worked out with Trump last summer.

Which means that the Debt and Deficit spending won’t even be an issue in Election 2020; which suits every politician in SwampLand just fine; especially if they are up for re-election. That way, the candidates don’t have to talk about it and, more importantly, the voters won’t even have to think about it.

So, yes: Trump is literally increasing he Debt. But the only reason he can do that is because he has gotten all kinds of help from the Democrats.

I’ve been on board with Biden, and wholly supportive of his beating Donald Trump, but even I had to admit he was God awful last night. The gaffes, the ill-timed grumpiness, the blunders and the like. Those who saw “good moments” are looking hard for good moments. They won’t hold up in the general, where nights like these will make Joe a national punchline before long.

I’m finally convinced this Party needs some courage and conviction to nominate and run, smart, strong, genuine candidates as the change this Country craves right now. To me, the ideal ticket right now would be Harris/Klobuchar, with Warren/Booker a close second. I think both tickets appeal to core Democratic constituencies, have solid Senate experience and voting records, can appeal to moderates and core progressives alike, and are SMART. Tough — wily — and ready for the fight.

I can appreciate all of the candidates, and, other than Gabbard, will eagerly jump in and support the ticket no matter who it is, but for right now — it’s tough to pass up two former prosecutors who acquitted themselves very well in the Mueller hearings and other Senate debates, who have appeal on the coasts and in the Midwest, and can be tough foils for Trump without the “extremeist” labels that make Warren and Sanders easier targets for the 24/7 conservative media blowtorch.

    Just my $.02

I could be on board with either of your proposed tickets. I hadn’t thought of Harris/Klobuchar, but I like it!
