Republican Philosophy: Every Fetus Must Be Born, But No Right To Care For Preexisting Conditions, And No Basic Right To Health Care Itself!

The Republican Party is a total disgrace in 2017.

It has allowed itself to become the party of death, not the party of life.

While adopting the extreme right wing position of being totally anti abortion, and subjecting women to the whims of religious extremists, that every fetus must be born, now the GOP has fully adopted the concept that once a fetus is born, that there is no right to care for preexisting conditions, which nearly half of Americans have in their lifetime, and no basic right to health care itself.

The party that freed the slaves, promoted racial equality, and advocated protection of the environment, now has become the party of Christian extremists and hard line Southern Confederate views, repudiating the principles of Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt and many decent, principled office holders who were proud of the Republican traditions of the past 150 plus years.

Now, if you are not wealthy, to hell with your health, and if you die, such is life, and it most showed up when former one term Congressman Joe Walsh of Illinois, said he was not interested in having to pay more taxes to support the health care of an infant who had a need for heart surgery to survive.

What has happened to the concept of human decency, compassion, empathy, and concern for others?

What has happened to the idea that we all pay in through our taxes for the betterment of society, and if we do not end up getting back as much as we pay in, it means we have been fortunate enough not to need help from the government on the same scale as others?

What happened to the concept of religious values, whether Christian or Jewish or Muslim or Hindu or whatever, that we are our brother’s keeper?

The Republican Party will be condemned in history for the passage in the House of Representatives yesterday of this reprehensible “tax care for the wealthy” bill, and it will NOT make it through the US Senate.

It was disgusting to see the House Republicans, led by despicable Speaker Paul Ryan, rushing to the Trump White House to celebrate the loss of health care for 24 million Americans, which, were it to become law, would insure tens of thousands of Americans, at the least, will die because they are not wealthy!

The wealthy have more than enough advantages, and do NOT need another tax cut, as it was those under Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush which have obliterated much of the middle class, and accelerated the fall of millions into poverty since 1981.

The odds are heavy now that the Democrats will win at least the minimum number of seats, 24, to regain the House of Representatives majority, and even if the US Senate is not regained, it will change the playing field in 2019-2020, including the likelihood of the impeachment of demagogue Donald Trump!

For any decent human being to be a Republican in 2017, shame on you, and one can believe in karma, that you will be repaid appropriately in the next stage of your existence after your death on earth!

    Ronald,

    I am not a Republican.
But I must ask, based on what authority do you say this?

“For any decent human being to be a Republican in 2017, shame on you, and one can believe in karma, that you will be repaid appropriately in the next stage of your existence after your death on earth!”

Mike, on my own authority, as a commentator, and if you do not like it, that is your right, as much as my right to free speech and my own thoughts.

If it bothers you that much, then stop reading my blog, clear and simple.

Ronald, my like or dislike of your comment is irrelevant.
I just simply thought it was worth asking how you feel you could make such a statement.

I do not want to put words in anyone’s mouth, but It seems you are basically saying that one’s eternal destiny can be determined simply by which political party they register with?

Wow, I must say that is bold.
Sure, you have a right to say such things. I am not disputing that. I would defend your right to do so. However, respectfully, I am unsure why you are not more willing to defend and back up your claims rather than just dismiss someone who questions you and suggest that they no longer read your blog.
If that is how you feel then perhaps it might save you some trouble to remove the following from this website, “Disagreement can still lead to a dignified and civilized discussion, which can educate this blogger, the correspondent, and the readers of this blog.”
    (With which I agree)

But when I disagree with you, or ask you to defend your words, you suggest that I no longer read your blog.

By saying “on my own authority”, you are claiming to have the power to sentence souls to the eternal destiny that you feel fit. Professor, how can you think that it appropriate?

Mike, I understand what you are saying.

My point is how anyone could have no concern about the health and life of others, and what that says about their character and morality.

Right now, the Republican party consists MOSTLY of heartless, unconcerned people who think government is evil, while they collect a great salary and benefits at our cost.

There are some exceptions in the party, but very few, and for any ordinary citizen to overlook what is happening, and/or not give a damn, well, that indicates to me that he or she will receive divine retribution because they deserve no less, in my opinion.

Again, you do not have to agree, but I feel so strongly on this, more so than on most issues, that I have these views, and i do not apologize for them.

I appreciate your explanation, and did not mean personally any bad thoughts, but simply have to say if it is something you cannot accept, then it is your choice whether to read my blog in the future.

I hope you will continue, however, to read it.

I understand your point. I cannot argue with the fact that apathy and lack of compassion for others is an awful thing.

However, I beseech you to examine your own heart and search for any sin or pride within. With all due respect, what makes you think that God (the one who really is the judge) will overlook your fallenness, and not someone else’s?

  6. Ronald May 5, 2017 3:35 pm

MIke, I do NOT claim to be infallible, and to have never made a mistake in my life.

But I have NEVER committed a sin against anyone–no violence, no feeling that I am better than anyone else, no mistreatment of anyone I have ever interacted with in a work setting, a personal setting, or in a general public situation.

I was brought up right, to be considerate of others, including, for example, people who do cleaning, servers and others in restaurants, disabled people, etc.

I may have thought in a way that I should not do so, but have never taken action in any form, from childhood on, to hurt, or ridicule, or mistreat anyone.

So while, like all human beings who commit sins in their head as part of being human, I have never acted out against anyone, and have never taken action to harm others, as these Republican politicians are in the process of doing.

For Paul Ryan to claim he is a “good Catholic”, or others to claim they are “good Christians” or “good Jews”, and only care about themselves and their own advancement and to enrich themselves and their wealthy friends and associates, is a TRUE sin.

As an educator, my goal has never been to be rich, or to be greedy, and these characters are despicable human beings who represent evil, and therefore, deserve retribution or karma at some point!

I understand what you’re saying but you speak as if God does not see your heart, and only your actions. This is not true. According to Jesus if you have lusted after another woman you are guilty of adultery and if you have been angry with someone else, then you are guilty of murder. (Matthew chapter 5)

When you point to others’ sins you are like a man who is brought guilty before a judge and holding fast to the idea that “Well I’m not as bad as them”. As you know, it does not work that way. You are either guilty or you are not.

Before God, we are spiritually bankrupt and completely hopeless, as we are all guilty of breaking His laws and not loving Him with all of our heart. But He made a way for you and I to be right with Him; Through His Son Jesus. I implore you to trust in Him and be reconciled to God. Thus when you are judged God will Passover your sins, as you put your faith in Him, trusting that He bore your punishment when He was crucified, so you do not have to experience the consequences of your own sin but instead have eternal life.

Mike, I appreciate your sincerity and your religiosity.

But understand, I am NOT a Christian, but rather I am Jewish, and I do not accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, as understand, Jesus was Jewish and never started Christianity in his own lifetime.

You are entitled to your views, but I do not see the situation as you do, but glad we had this discussion, and I encourage you to continue to read my blog.

    Professor,
You should be honored that MIKE Pence is a fan 😉

  11. Ronald May 5, 2017 9:00 pm

    Paul, hahaha!

I do not think “Mike” is Mike Pence, but if he were, I wish to make it clear that I am NOT a fan of Mike Pence, a Christian extremist trying to impose his views on women and gays and lesbians on society, totally inappropriate for any politician to do!

  12. Paul Doyle May 6, 2017 6:38 am

    Re-Pence, you sinner! 😉

  13. Princess Leia May 6, 2017 11:07 am

    Ha! Ha! Good one Paul!

  14. Mike May 8, 2017 8:09 am

Just to be clear, I am not Mike Pence. LOL

  15. Ronald May 8, 2017 8:41 am

HAHA, Mike, I know that ! LOL

I cannot imagine that Mike Pence would have the time, or the intellectual interest, to explore the so called “dark side”, as he would term it! LOL
