NBC Wall Street Journal Opinion Poll Indicates 61 Percent Worry About Having President With No Government Or Military Experience!

A new NBC Wall Street Journal poll demonstrates the common sense of Americans, their concern and worry about having a President with no government or military experience.

We have NEVER had such a President, and only Wendell Willkie, nominated in 1940 by the Republican Party against Franklin D. Roosevelt, has had the same lack of background.

But Willkie was not the kind of divisive figure, and did not display the ignorance and demagoguery, of Donald Trump.

We have never had a candidate for President quite like Donald Trump, and his recklessness, character assassination, and impulsive nature makes him much too dangerous to give the nuclear codes, along with the basic danger he presents to the whole American constitutional system.

No businessman, certainly from real estate and casinos alone, has the qualifications to run a government and the military, who has never been exposed to the basic facts and knowledge that experience in the government and or the military provides.

This is not reality television, but serious business about heading the government of the most powerful nation on earth in a time of domestic division and foreign terrorist threat.

The fact that terrorist groups hope for Trump’s victory is because they know it will encourage and recruit new terrorists for the future, with Trump’s anti Muslim rhetoric and plan to ban all Muslims being totally counterproductive in dealing with the threat of terrorism.

Trump is a danger to the long term stability of America in both domestic and foreign policy, and must NOT be allowed to gain power based on the ignorance and prejudices of the white working class, non college educated, men, who seem unable to understand that Trump does not give a damn about them as individuals, but is simply on another egotistical, narcissistic trip!

So I gather that recruitment of new Muslim terrorist for the Jihadi cause have down-spiraled during the last 8 yrs of the Obama administration? In other words the administrations approach, and quite frankly George’s Bush’s approach of not mentioning the words Muslim and Islamic in combination with terrorism has been a success in limiting new Jihadist?

  2. Southern Liberal May 25, 2016 5:48 pm

Absolutely stupid question from our RW troll

  3. Rational Lefty May 25, 2016 5:55 pm

Only one everyone not named Mercy agrees with here is the Professor.

  4. Ronald May 25, 2016 6:14 pm

Thanks, Rational Lefty, I am ignoring Mercy, and he/she will go away when realizing no response will occur.

Amazing how these trolls have no ethics at all, out to destroy and divide, rather than unite!

  5. Mercy May 26, 2016 11:56 am

Ronald: So having a different opinion or different ideas about politics means I am out to destroy and divide? How is that? All I was saying was that in my opinion it doesn’t matter whether the US government is nice, compliant and goes out of its was as to not offend Muslims or whether the US simply calls calls these terrorist by what they are – Islamist terrorist – or whether they go full nut-job Trump and put all Muslims on the same basket. It won’t matter for extremist recruiting purposes. And this opinion is somehow destructive and divisive? I am amazed that there are so many people who don’t realize that these Muslim extremist terrorist and those who join them don’t give a damn whether we have Gandhi or the Mother Teresa in the White House.

The thought of Trump being president scares me so bad it’s caused me to have stomach upset.

  7. Rustbelt Democrat May 26, 2016 12:49 pm

LOL! Mercy is actually Ted Cruz in disguise! 😉

  8. Princess Leia May 26, 2016 12:53 pm

Rustbelt – That wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

  9. Pragmatic Progressive May 26, 2016 1:24 pm

Reading “Green Eggs and Ham” on the Senate floor, instead of doing something more constructive, such as passing jobs bills, is why Cruz is very hard to take seriously.

  10. Mercy May 26, 2016 1:28 pm

The mere concept of a “jobs” bill is ridiculous. How about “Get the Governments Excessive Red Tape of the Backs of Small and Medium Business Bill”. That’s all you really need. The rest is pure propaganda.

  11. Former Republican May 26, 2016 4:34 pm

“Small” business for Cheap Labor Conservatives = Walmart. LOL!

  12. Princess Leia May 26, 2016 5:11 pm

GOTea deregulation jeopardizes citizens and consumers.

  13. Pragmatic Progressive May 26, 2016 5:18 pm

I second that Leia. I don’t trust a business by itself to ensure that the environment is protected or that a product is safe.

  14. Mercy May 26, 2016 5:58 pm

Why is it that some on the left lack the minimum of discernment for some issues? I’m not complaining about regulations that require, say, sturdy structural supports for tunnels in coal mines. But too often a sensible idea behind a set of regulations—for example, that exposed stairway floor openings with precipitous drops should have railings—is made ridiculous by their detail: If said railings are not 42 inches high, you can be fined, as per OSHA regulation 1910.23(e)(3)(v)(a). Other regulations could be written only by bureaucrats with way too much time on their hands, such as ones that mandate a certain sort of latch for a bakery’s flour bins or the proper way to describe flower bulbs to customers, or the kind of registration form to be attached to a toddler’s folding chair, while also prescribing an option for registering the product through the Internet.Whether we are trying to raise our children, be good stewards of our property, cooperate with our neighbors to solve local problems or practice our religious faith, the bureaucrats think they know better. And when the targets of the regulatory state say they’ve had enough, that they will fight it in court, the bureaucrats can—and do—say to them, “Try that, and we’ll ruin you.”
Yet here we are, totally incapable of having a civil discussion about the burden and excesses of the regulatory state. No debate is admitted and any mention of this issue will be attacked and scornfully ignored.

LOL! He believes that climate change is only real once it harms his golf courses. 😉

  16. Pragmatic Progressive May 27, 2016 9:16 am

Trump is calling Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas”. How much ruder and cruder can this man get?!!!!

  17. Mercy May 27, 2016 1:15 pm

Claiming to be native american and telling your colleagues at Harvard that you are native american when you are NOT is more disgraceful and rude.
“Although the conventional wisdom among students and faculty is that the Law School faculty includes no minority women, Chmura said Professor of Law Elizabeth Warren is Native American.” http://www.thecrimson.com/article/1996/10/22/survey-diversity-lacking-at-hls-pa/

  18. Princess Leia May 27, 2016 2:35 pm

She is not lying about having Native American heritage. Her great-great-great grandmother on her mother’s side was Cherokee. The periodical, Mother Jones, did an article about it in 2012.

The more important thing is that this woman is WAY more intelligent than someone like yourself or Trump could ever understand.

  19. Mercy May 27, 2016 2:46 pm

From the leftist journal The Atlantic:
Her inability to name any specific Native American ancestor has kept the story alive, though, as pundits left and right have argued the case. Supporters touted her as part Cherokee after genealogist Christopher Child of the New England Historic Genealogical Society said he’d found a marriage certificate that described her great-great-great-grandmother, who was born in the late 18th century, as a Cherokee. But that story fell apart once people looked at it more closely. The Society, it turned out, was referencing a quote by an amateur genealogist in the March 2006 Buracker & Boraker Family History Research Newsletters about an application for a marriage certificate:

Lynda Smith said, “When Neoma’s son William J. Crawford married his second wife Mary LONG in Oklahoma, he stated on his marriage application that his parents were Johnathan Houston Crawford and O. C. Sarah Smith and that his mother was Cherokee Indian.”
No one has surfaced that document, and there’s some reason to believe it may not exist. Lynda Smith later wrote that she does not believe she ever saw it herself, according to a report by amateur genealogist Michael Patrick Leahy, who has helped lead a full court press from the right on the Warren ancestry story, along with other conservative outlets such as the Boston Herald and the blog Legal Insurrection. (Smith declined a request for comment.)

The New England Historic Genealogical Society backtracked on Warren’s ancestry in a statement Tuesday, saying the group has “no proof that Elizabeth Warren’s great-great-great-grandmother O.C. Sarah Smith either is or is not of Cherokee descent” and that the Society “has not expressed a position on whether Mrs. Warren has Native American ancestry, nor do we possess any primary sources to prove that she is.”

The Boston Globe, which had taken the Society’s earlier statements as confirmation of Warren’s Cherokee heritage (“Document ties Warren kin to Cherokees”), issued a sniffy correction Tuesday about the “1894 document that was purported to list Elizabeth Warren’s great-great-great grandmother as a Cherokee,” noting that “Neither the society nor the Globe has seen the primary document, whose existence has not been proven.” http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/05/is-elizabeth-warren-native-american-or-what/257415/

  20. Mercy May 27, 2016 2:50 pm

“The more important thing is that this woman is WAY more intelligent than someone like yourself or Trump could ever understand” ..are you talking about the same woman who coined the stupid phrase “You didn’t build that” ? LOL Yes very intelligent indeed. Though I do grant her being smart enough to get enough votes to live off the taxpayers dime.

  21. Ronald May 27, 2016 3:11 pm

I think the best strategy is let Mercy do his/her thing, and if we totally ignore it, this troll will go away. The more we react, the more this troll is enabled! Same ego maniacal and narcissistic behavior as Trump, and we should not give this troll the time of day!

Amazing how a woman who has done so much good is now being attacked, because of the fear that she might be Hillary’s running mate for VP.

If that happens, Trump will be emasculated completely, which he richly deserves!

  22. Pragmatic Progressive May 27, 2016 3:43 pm

Her ethnicity is not what’s important. What’s important is that she is a champion of the poor and middle class, something the GOTea is not.

  23. Former Republican May 27, 2016 3:51 pm

    Re: Ignoring the troll

We feel that it’s important to stand up to their nonsense.

  24. Ronald May 27, 2016 3:52 pm

Absolutely, Pragmatic Progressive. And when Warren said we all contribute to each other and depend on each other, she is absolutely correct, but the right wing has no concern except for their own profits.

Greed and selfishness is so widespread on the Right! And yet they claim to be “good” Christians!

  25. Ronald May 27, 2016 3:53 pm

Former Republican, I understand what you are saying, but you are feeding this person’s ego mania and narcissism, as attention is given, which is not deserved!

  26. Mercy May 27, 2016 6:05 pm

I agree that her or anyone’s race or ethnicity is not what matters, but what does is the content of one’s character. (Now that is really a controversial position nowadays isn’t it?) That said, she was the one who kept bringing it up and then we realize she has no evidence of it. That is all I am saying.
And Ronald, you are displaying the same attitude you criticized about college kids boycotting and not wanting to even hear ore read opinions that are opposite to what they believe or shall I say have been inculcated by the education system. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQs3X17jpQU

  27. Rustbelt Democrat May 27, 2016 7:54 pm

Taking his cue from Senator Centerfold the failed former Senator from MA? It didn’t work for Brown, it will find no traction with the Drumph.

  28. Southern Liberal May 27, 2016 8:33 pm

Thanks for bringing that up Rustbelt. It was Scott Brown who started the rumor. No school where Warren studied or taught reported that she used her ethnicity to gain entrance. Our RW troll is the one who is lying.

  29. Rustbelt Democrat May 27, 2016 8:42 pm

You’re very welcome, Southern Liberal. This entire BS comes from a Penn Law School listing of her in a directory as minority; unbeknownst to her and recorded on no documents anywhere. For more information, I’d suggest Warren critics go to the Snopes Fact Finder and read about Ms Warren’s career and this BS about a minority claim.

  30. Rational Lefty May 27, 2016 9:05 pm

I suggest a flagging feature here.

  31. Pragmatic Progressive May 27, 2016 9:15 pm

Rational Lefty – That would backfire because the troll(s) would use the feature on us progressives and liberals.

  32. Princess Leia May 27, 2016 9:54 pm

Thanks for that info, Rustbelt and Southern Liberal. It’s as I’ve said before, the brains of right-wingers aren’t wired to tell the truth.
