Factual Knowledge Unimportant To Donald Trump: Substance Does Not Matter!

It is very clear that Donald Trump wants to be President, but has not done the “homework” needed, as he, regularly, shows ignorance of basic information about international affairs and foreign policy, and also over simplifies domestic issues that the nation faces.

His lack of knowledge is astounding, with his ignorance shining through his bravado, his bullying, and his ego maniacal behavior in public meetings.

Trump seems to think his charisma and controversial nature can carry him through to victory, but that is not going to work, once we get past the novelty of a businessman, who has never really studied public affairs, as he has always been engaged in “the art of the deal”, as his best selling book is named.

Once in the Oval Office, without any clear and detailed knowledge of what history and political sciences and foreign policy reveal, he is in for a rude awakening, which this nation can ill afford.

Trump may be affronted by being challenged by media who ask him specific questions, but that is far less than the daunting challenges he would face if he became President.

The whole idea that a non politician is qualified to be President is totally preposterous, as would one want a doctor who did not have proper medical training  and knowledge?  Would one want an attorney who had not mastered the law and the Constitution? Would one go to a dentist who did not have expertise to do dental surgery?  Would one wish to hire an accountant to do one’s business or personal taxes, who had no training?  Would a sports team allow someone to be on their team who had no training or proven skills?

Why is it that ignorant people seem to think “anyone” who claims to be qualified , is truly someone we should give power and control over nuclear weapons because they touch a nerve of disillusionment and discontent in the mass of the population?  Is that the way to run a government, to put amateurs in power?

Yes, If Trump is thinking of selecting Palin, it proves how incompetent he really is. And to abolish the Department of Energy and allow each state to do what it wishes is totally disastrous, as states should NOT handle the energy issue, especially in a time of global warming!

I personally would not vote for Trump but I must ask, how has having “professional politicians” gone for us? So far they (both parties) have managed to en-debt us in over $18 trillion, that is more than 100% or our GDP. And the debt to revenues ratio will go through the roof once interest rates are normalized (0% cannot go on for long). And this isn’t even counting our future unfunded liabilities. We, the current “ruling generation’ (those over 40) are destroying the future of the “upcoming generation”. They will have to pay for our current irresponsibility. What kind of society does this to their children? http://www.financialsense.com/contributors/laurence-kotlikoff/government-conspiracy-hide-us-debt-burden

Thanks for posting that link Rustbelt. I also don’t agree with the notion that both parties are the same.

Mr. Shook is exactly right! Democrats have given us balanced budgets which the Republicans turned around and trashed.

Generally speaking the President proposed a budget and the Congress decides, specifically if I recall correctly the power of the purse lies with the House. That said, the political branches of our federal government, the Executive and Legislative branches, are co-responsible for both having a surplus, deficit or balance in the federal budget. So Obama’s deficits between 2009 and 2011 was a shared responsibility with the Democrat controlled Congress just as the post 2011 deficits are a co-responsibility of Obama and a Republican controlled Congress. And with Bush up until 2006 the budget deficits we the co-responsibility of Bush and the Republican controlled Congress just as post 2006 to 2008 the deficits were a co-responsibility of Bush and the Democrat controlled.

I’m also in agreement with those who disagree with the notion that the two parties are the same.

    Ariel –
We are not going to say ‘oh it was both’ because the truth is one party (the GOP) is more responsible.

Democrat budgets are about helping people. They invest in education, infrastructure, scientific innovation, tax cuts for the poor and middle class, protecting the social safety net, affordable health care.

Republican budgets are about feeding the war machine and giving tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires.

That’s why I vote for Democrats instead of Republicans.

Because he talks about debt obsessively, it makes me even more suspicious that he’s a GOP troll.

Who is this Milt Shook? Is he an economist? Political philosopher? What are his credentials? This man actually writes “It’s not like money that comes out of the government to pay its bills never comes back. Cutting government spending actually reduces the amount of money in the economy” Notice he writes “money that comes out of the government” and may I ask were that money that the government spends come from? The tooth fairy? NO! From us the taxpayers! Either via taxes or via debt! But we, the taxpayers end up paying. So the government takes money away from the private sector, to then filter it through government handouts to corporations and individual and back into the market while keeping some “loose change” on the way? And that somehow is supposed to stimulate the private sector economy? How insane it that?

    Leia,
    I second your suspicion.

    A blogger? LOL

  15. Pragmatic Progressive September 10, 2015 6:54 am

I don’t find anything funny about that. And I third the suspicions of others here.

  16. Southern Liberal September 10, 2015 7:33 am

I don’t think it’s funny either. He uses credible news sites – CNN.com, CBSNews.com, MSNBC.com, etc. – for the data in his postings.

  17. Princess Leia September 10, 2015 10:43 am

The site that Ariel posted talks about a conspiracy, making it bogus.

Ha! Ha! His podcast is pushing climate myths. According to Wikipedia, James Puplava (who is the host for the podcast of that site) and the producer of the podcast, John Loeffler, believe that the concept of global warming is being pushed by governments in order to promote higher taxation and greater governmental controls of our lives.

As Wikipedia reveals, that’s because he’s heavily invested in oil. 😉
