CPAC Convention: The Lunatic Right Displays Itself!

Watching, listening, and reading about the Conservative Political Action Conference makes anyone with a stable mind roll his eyes in wonderment at what conservatism has become!

All the losers of the past were there and ranting and raving their insanity, including Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, Paul Ryan, and Mike Huckabee. The “newcomers”,” people not yet defeated but soon to be, including Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal and Chris Christie, also appeared, and made fools of themselves. Of course, the ultimate lunatic and embarrassment, Donald Trump, also spewed his sick mind and constant need for attention. And to top it off, Sarah Palin is making an appearance, as if any sane, intelligent person cares! And Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, desperately trying to keep his seat, showed up brandishing a rifle, a horrible image for a Senate leader to display just a year after the Sandy Hook Massacre!

Jeb Bush and Scott Walker stayed away, for both a smart move, and Jon Huntsman was also not there, and at least for Bush and Huntsman, who are the most mainstream of this group of characters, it made sense NOT to be there!

Speaker of the House John Boehner was not invited, which should really be seen as a blessing, as he has upset right wingers by being exasperated with the Tea Party Movement, for making his job absolutely impossible in the lower chamber.

It is still reality that ONLY Jeb Bush and Jon Huntsman would have ANY chance to be elected over Hillary Clinton in the Presidential Election of 2016, but not very good odds for either of them. And again, let this author repeat, that the Electoral College strongly favors ANY Democrat to win the White House, and as long as the GOP alienates African Americans, Latinos, women, and many young voters, it will not win the White House. And as long as it fights the idea of national health care coverage for all; acceptance of gay rights and same sex marriage; opposition to immigration reforms; favors the energy industry over the environment; and continues to fight against a living wage for the poor and middle class, it will lose for the long term future! And if it continues to promote religion and theocracy, it will NEVER win the White House ever again, in a nation that believes in separation of church and state!

So those of us who care about our fellow Americans can sit and observe the CPAC Conference, and feel good that the potential candidates and the Republican party are sealing their doom for 2016 and beyond!

“Sarah Palin is making an appearance, as if any sane, intelligent person cares! ”

At least she is smarter than Obama. She was able to predict what Russia would do to Ukraine, a concern that Obama mocked.

“It is still reality that ONLY Jeb Bush and Jon Huntsman would have ANY chance to be elected over Hillary Clinton in the Presidential Election of 2016”

Hillary Clinton has brain cancer and won’t run.

  3. Ronald March 7, 2014 7:48 pm

Mark, as the saying goes, a clock can be correct once even if it does not work properly! LOL It is moronic on your part to say that Palin is smarter than Obama, totally asinine.

Hillary does not have brain cancer, and you should not say such a terrible thing, but even if she does not run, ANY Democrat has the Electoral College in his or her favor. Awhile back, I explained the math, and there is no way that ANY Democrat for President will lose 63 electoral votes that Barack Obama won out of his 332. Give me a break, and TRY to appear intelligent on your own part, Mark!

  4. Mark March 7, 2014 9:10 pm

“Give me a break, and TRY to appear intelligent on your own part, Mark!”

Ok, I’ll read more Palin and less Obama on foreign policy to appear smart.

CPAC…just another circus side show that P. T. Barnum build his business plan around “A Sucker Is Born Every Minute”.

Mark is a good example of the demographic segment that Barnum fleeced.

I was on the radio show again last Sunday and I (along with the President’s think tank Cabinet) knew that Russia was not going to let their only warm water Naval Base in the Crimea get away from them. I stated this fact last Sunday.

For Mark to say that President Obama did not know is really a statement that the U.S. Intelligence Community is incompetent. This is where the President would get his information & recommendations. Mark’s comment that the President did not foresee the actions and reactions from Russia, is nothing more than a small non-thinking comment derived by a small inept mind.

Just another Freudian exposure of what Mark is made up from.

Thanks, Engineer, once again, for “coming to the rescue!”

Mark is really willing to believe that Palin, who attended six colleges to get a degree, is smarter than a Harvard Law School graduate?

As far as Hillary is concerned, I hope she is not sick, but I am amazed that people believe supermarket tabloids, and also cannot believe the hate of the comments under the article, and saying Clinton and her husband are mass murderers! So what about Bush and Cheney? The stupidity and hate of these trolls is absolutely mind boggling!

  7. Engineer Of Knowledge March 7, 2014 10:44 pm

Absolutely mind boggling indeed, my friend. How some can make unsubstantiated, or not backed up by fact statements, plus quote utter bull crap, is beyond any critical thinking person’s mindset.

  8. Engineer Of Knowledge March 7, 2014 11:11 pm

Mark has just done nothing but exposed his lack of knowledge of how Government and the Agencies work.

This is the brilliance of our Founding Fathers insisting on “Freedom of Speech”. It exposes stupid.

  9. Ronald March 7, 2014 11:16 pm

Engineer, I LOVE your brilliance and sarcasm! LOL 🙂

“But obviously, we’ve got to stand with our North Korean allies.” –Sarah Palin, after being asked how she would handle the current hostilities between the two Koreas, interview on Glenn Beck’s radio show, Nov. 24, 2010″

Obviously Palin is a wealth of foreign policy knowledge. And the saying is, “A broken watch is right twice a day”.

  11. Ronald March 8, 2014 12:16 am

Thanks, JOB, for correcting my clock comment to watch, and twice a day correct! LOL HAHA!

  12. Engineer Of Knowledge March 8, 2014 6:09 am

Yes JOB.. At first her Republican debate handlers stated that She thought North and South Korea were one country… Much like saying Northern and Southern California. She could not identify the Allied or Axis Countries during WWII.

Those “Republicans” who were tasked to prepare her for the debates said that they NEVER worked with someone so stupid!

So for Mark to say that Sarah has it over President Obama…..does not bode well for Mark ether does it? Right Mark?

This bit is for the more enlightened readers on this blog:

In 1905, The Russian sailors on the Battleship Potemkin mutinied and inspired the citizens of Odessa, in the Ukraine to join their revolt. The Tsarist government sent the Cossacks to brutally suppress the pre 1917 Russian Revolution and the citizens of Odessa were brutally massacred.  The 1925 film by Sergei Eisenstein is considered one of the most brilliant silent films ever made. This sequence of the massacre on the stairs of Odessa has never been equaled for the sheer emotional impact and truly economical use of the media to convey a message.

Karl Marx later said of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, the 19th century philosopher, “Hegel remarks somewhere that all great world historic facts and personages appear, so to speak, twice. The first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.”

So I guess one could sat, “Welcome to your nightmare, Vladimir”.

  14. Ronald March 8, 2014 6:42 am

Yes, Engineer, for anyone NOT to recall or know that Sarah Palin is the most embarrassing nominee for Vice President in history, even more so than Dan Quayle, demonstrates how ignorance and stupidity reigns on the far Right! For CPAC to give her and Donald Trump a forum to speak is a sign of their total bankruptcy as a serious organization!

  15. Mark March 8, 2014 9:13 am

“For Mark to say that President Obama did not know is really a statement that the U.S. Intelligence Community is incompetent.”

Obama is an idiot. He was clueless not only about Ukraine, he learned about his Obamacare website disaster from the newspaper just like everyone else. Are these coincides? No. He created a culture where he doesn’t want anyone “telling him bad news”. So the information never gets to him, but that’s by his own design.

  16. Ronald March 8, 2014 9:25 am

That is pure bull! If anything, it is the reality that no one, NO ONE, can handle and juggle tens of dozens of issues at the same time, and he may have had bad staff support, but no one is a genius and knows about everything, and Reagan and Bush II were clueless on much more, and did not have the constant barrage of attacks that this President has had to deal with, unprecedented in modern history, even more than Nixon faced!

  17. Mark March 8, 2014 9:41 am

“Mark is really willing to believe that Palin, who attended six colleges to get a degree, is smarter than a Harvard Law School graduate?”

Yep, there is this thing called affirmative action.

  18. Ronald March 8, 2014 9:51 am

Mark, Obama had the credentials to be admitted to Harvard Law School and was the head of its law review! Give me a break, and TRY to stop showing your obvious racism, that no African American can possibly be competent and qualified! It is an utter disgrace for you to do what the “drop out” talk show hosts, (Hannity and LImbaugh in particular), do regularly!

  19. Mark March 8, 2014 12:16 pm

African Americans can be qualified. Clarence Thomas is brilliant. Walter Williams is brilliant. Thomas Sowell is brilliant.

Obama is among the least qualified and most evil African Americans, but that doesn’t mean I’m racist.

  20. Mark March 8, 2014 12:18 pm

“Obama had the credentials to be admitted to Harvard Law School ”

How do you know? His records and grades or thesis were never revealed. He was accepted for affirmative action.

  21. Ronald March 8, 2014 12:43 pm

Clarence Thomas is NOT qualified, just a conservative with total lack of ethics on the Court, and never makes a comment in eight years. Being a conservative does NOT make you, automatically, brilliant, far from it, as say Allen West, Herman Cain, who are far from bright! Just good at being crooked and self serving!

  22. JOB March 9, 2014 12:30 am

““Mark is really willing to believe that Palin, who attended six colleges to get a degree, is smarter than a Harvard Law School graduate?”
Yep, there is this thing called affirmative action.”

Mark is correct, Affirmative action does exist. One problem. A white female will benefit more than a black male. Is Affirmative Action a bastardization of Equal Rights? A say yes. But some people need to check their data. Affirmative Action is more likely to help a white female, than it is a black male. Reason being? Females are looked down upon more than any male. But I give the non-voter credit. It was a valiant effort to compare Palin to POTUS.

  23. Ronald March 9, 2014 7:55 am

You are correct, JOB, and I appreciate your telling Mark reality as it is! Palin is a total moron and embarrassment to herself, and her reckless rhetoric about nuclear war, topped off by McCain’s willingness to commit troops everywhere, has to make any sane person glad that they were not elected in 2008.

  24. Southern Liberal March 10, 2014 9:07 am

Mark claims that Sarah Palin is smart! Ha! Ha! What a joke! Everyone in the real world and not Mark’s alternate reality knows otherwise!

  25. Ronald March 10, 2014 9:13 am

Southern Liberal, you know what the problem is? People like Mark have trouble dealing with the reality that there are many Africans Americans and Latinos who have accomplished on a level way beyond the accomplishments of many whites, and that just makes them furious! The nerve of them to accomplish, and demonstrate excellence!

  26. Mark March 10, 2014 1:05 pm

I didn’t claim Palin is smart, just that she is smarter than Obama, which is a very low bar.

  27. Mark March 10, 2014 1:07 pm

I’m grateful for Ted Cruz’s level of accomplishment, not furious. Same thing for Walter Williams. Ronald, you seem to be projecting your own racism. I don’t know why you get a kick out of falsely accusing others of racism.

  28. Mark March 10, 2014 1:08 pm

You say you are in favor of civility but as soon as someone disagrees with you, you falsely accuse them of racism. What a joke.

  29. Ronald March 10, 2014 2:45 pm

For you to claim Obama is not intelligent makes YOU a joke, as you have very poor judgment, Mark! Palin is simply a moron, no debate about that!

I agree that Ted Cruz is intelligent, and that makes him dangerous with his confrontational, no taking prisoners, mentality.

As far as racism, I have never been accused by anyone of being racist, until you came along, so look in the mirror and stop throwing accusations that have no basis!

  30. Mark March 10, 2014 7:18 pm

“As far as racism, I have never been accused by anyone of being racist, ”

Same here. Here is the first time anyone ever accused me of racism:

“People like Mark have trouble dealing with the reality that there are many Africans Americans and Latinos who have accomplished on a level way beyond the accomplishments of many whites, and that just makes them furious!”

That’s your quote, by the way.

  31. Ronald March 10, 2014 7:40 pm

Mark, you are misinterpreting what I said. I said MANY people, but did not, specifically, include YOU, so stop being so defensive, and recognize that our President is one of the smartest men in the Presidency since World War II, including Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Palin is more on the level of George W. Bush, but even he is smarter than her, as is VP Dan Quayle under George H W Bush, with Quayle no heavyweight either in the brains department!

  32. Mark March 10, 2014 8:06 pm

    LOL.

That’s like saying that if I say: people “like the professor” are racists, anti-women, warmongers, then because I said “like the professor”, it doesn’t actually apply to the professor.

If you want to call me a racist you should just go ahead and do it and not use cute constructions to pretend you didn’t.

  33. Ronald March 10, 2014 8:13 pm

Wow, you are testy I see! I did NOT call you a racist, and do NOT think you are a racist, so stop complaining about something I have not said, ok? 🙁

  34. Mark March 10, 2014 8:18 pm

You really can’t see that saying: people “like Mark” are racists, at least suggest extremely strongly that I’m a racist? Prof., I know academics have special ways, less direct, to insult people, but don’t think people are idiots to not see it.

  35. Ronald March 10, 2014 9:05 pm

I suggest that we find something better to discuss, and if I offended you, I apologize!

  36. Southern Liberal March 11, 2014 9:00 am

Geesh! How much more loony can that woman get?!

  37. Ronald March 11, 2014 9:07 am

Remember, this is the person who Mark thinks is smarter than Obama! HAHAHA! LOL
