Michele Bachmann, Steve King, Louie Gohmert (Three House Republican Wingnuts) Remake History!

The three leading House Republican wingnuts–Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, Steve King of Iowa, and Louie Gohmert of Texas– were in Egypt last week, hailing the military coup against Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

And in the process of backing dictatorship, the three loonies made a statement about the 12th Anniversary of September 11 that is totally false and misleading.

They said the Muslim Brotherhood, the group from which Morsi emerged, and won a democratic election, the first in modern Egyptian history, were responsible for the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon!

The facts are, and even intelligent, sane Republicans know this, that it was Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden who were responsible for that dastardly deed!

Labeling all Muslims as guilty of a horrible deed is what we call scapegoating, and only makes the ability of the world to learn to coexist, since there is no way to eliminate any religion, no matter how objectionable to people of other faiths, so much more difficult!

These members of Congress bring the dignity of the House of Representatives and the Republican Party to a new, all time low!

Sadly. because our system of government allows what we call “gerrymandering”, the creation of congressional districts favoring one party, and putting together people who have extremist views, and therefore allowing wingnuts a chance for some influence and attention. They could never win a Senate seat, however, because of the horrible reputation they gain with their inane, ignorant comments on all kinds of public issues, and their promotion of hate.

Having said that, the Tea Party Movement has also won seats in the US Senate, so we have loonies such as Ted Cruz of Texas and Rand Paul of Kentucky, both planning to seek the Presidency, and in so doing, helping to destroy the historical reputation of the Republican Party as a mainstream conservative party. If either is the nominee of the party in 2016, they will suffer a massive defeat, as there is no way that the nation at large is going backwards, even if some Congressional districts and a few Senate seats are going in that direction. And the Republican Party will be irreparably harmed in the process!

    Hello Professor,
The most famous monument of ancient Greece was the Parthenon, erected at the apex of the Acropolis over 2500 years ago. Each of the eight columns that support the Parthenon’s entrance stood for eight ideological pillars:
    1. Humanism
    2. The Pursuit of Excellence
    3. The Practice of Modernity
    4. Self-Knowledge
    5. Rationalism
    6. Restless Curiosity
    7. The Love of Freedom
    8. Individualism

These “Eight Pillars Of Greek Wisdom” not only elude, but are a foreign concept to this group of Teabaggers.

A very sad statement for the citizens of those gerrymandered districts.

    Hello Professor,
I will be on “Here Be Monsters” internet radio show. This Sunday the guest is Sister Marie Visse from the Loretto Motherhouse in KY – the “Anit-Fracking Nuns” group. I will pass on some notes for review for those who may be interested.

In the late 60’s, Pete Seeger started a movement to made aware to the nation, and especially New Yorkers, that the blatant abusive, the intentional pollution, of the Hudson River affected the drinking water of New York City. People soon became outraged and demanded action.
In 1970 Environmental Protection Agency was formed.
In 1972 Richard Nixon’s signed into law the Clean Water Act.
In 1974 the Safe Drinking Water Act became law.
In 2005 the “Energy Bill” pushed through Congress by then Vice President Dick Cheney, exempts the Oil and Natural Gas industry from most environmental laws such as the:
    1. Safe drinking water act
    2. Clean water act
    3 Clean Air Act
    4. The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, (also referred to as the Superfund law)
“Hydraulic Fracking” uses the Halliburton technology that is also now protected by law for having to divulge its patented “special proprietary formula” of petroleum solvents (and could be called toxic waste by some) used in Fracking.
So should these petroleum solvent compounds show up in someone’s drinking water, it cannot be legally traced to Halliburton’s procedure.
Hydraulic Fracturing today now affects 39 states. The Fracking Fluid uses 596+ Chemicals many which are Carcinogens. These chemicals are mixed with water and injected into the ground. It is estimated that 40 Trillion gallons of water has been used so far in the process and this is just the beginnings of the overall project’s projections.
Now let’s take a moment to utilize John Nash’s “Game Theory” and include the incurred cost to Private Medical Insurances, Medicaid & Medicare, or simply the health costs incurred to families for unknowingly drinking their tap water.
This inflicted Predatory Corporate subsidizing is not even taken into account for the cost of the Natural Gas. Plus when you add in the devaluation of the personal real estate, the subsidizing of the industry starts to become staggering.

Thanks, Engineer, for making clear just how dangerous Dick Cheney’s connections and the natural gas and oil industries are to Americans’ health and safety. But, sadly, we the people have little influence over our water supply, our energy supply, and our environment. This is the true tragedy that affects more Americans than anything else!
