IRS “Scandal” Not A Scandal: Progressive Groups Targeted As Much As Conservative Groups!

The purpose of the Internal Revenue Service is to make sure that Americans pay their proper level of taxes to support the needs of the federal government, and to insure that political groups do not get tax exempt status and avoid taxation through deceit and false claims as to their activities.

California Congressman Darrell Issa and others have tried to dramatize what they see as IRS corruption, due to accusations that only conservative groups have been targeted tor investigation by the IRS.

But now it turns out that progressive groups have also been investigated, and been denied tax exempt status, as required by a fair enforcement of the laws.

So therefore, there is no scandal, and the IRS is doing what it is supposed to do—insure fair collection of taxes! This is the law under 501 c 3 and c 4 of the tax laws—no political activity if organizations want tax exemptions!

So all the attention to “corruption” ordered by the Obama Administration turns out to be just typical conservative and Republican propaganda, but what else is new?

Well what do you know! I had no idea progressives groups were not approved by line agents on the spot and that they were, just like “conservative” and ‘Tea Party” groups, sent to IRS higher-ups for further scrutiny!Oh wait a minute.. groups with “progressive” ideologies ” merely alerted” the agents that a designation of 501(c)(3) status “may not be appropriate” for them, thus they were approved by line agents on the spot whereas “conservative” organizations were sent higher up in the IRS for further scrutiny.
Well but I am sure the progressive groups cases were being coordinated with EOT — Exempt Organizations Technical, a group of tax lawyers in Washington, D.C. , just like the conservative groups. Oh wait a minute, no they were not. Bummer!
Well but surely progressive groups received the same type of intrusive questionnaires as did conservative groups, like what si the content of your prayers (oh wait a minute progressive groups don’t really pray), right? I guess not. Oh well. But I am sure that in the feverish mind of a liberal, both progressive and conservative groups got equal treatment by the IRS, both were approved according to normal procedures. Its just that progressive groups were approved in a couple of months, like the Barack Hussein Obama Foundation of Malik Obama, the Presidents half brother, got approval not only in a record breaking 30 days in 2011 but retroactively for the year 2008! In other words Malik Obama was collecting funds for over 3 yrs without authorization but hey no problem, we will just approved the foundation retroactively! Effective date of EXEMPTION April 30th 2008! Signed LOUIS LERNER! (Sound familiar?) See no harm done! http://www.scribd.com/doc/141434910/Barack-H-Foundation-Letter-For-Tax-Exempt-Status-in-June-2011 While conservative groups after a couple of years of harassment , if they were lucky.
The fact remains that the internal IRS investigation, completed in May 2012, reached conclusions similar to those outlined in the Treasury Department inspector general’s report released in mid-May of this year — that the agency was improperly targeting conservative groups — but the IRS did not inform Congress of those findings nor did they make them public at the time.
