Joplin, Missouri; SuperStorm Sandy; Moore, Oklahoma: Reason To Pay More Taxes To Help Our Fellow Citizens!

America has gone through one natural disaster after another, more so in recent years, at greater cost of life and property.

The climate change deniers say it is par for the course, that nothing unusual is occurring, and that global warming is not the issue.

But even worse is that the same people in government who deny any concept of climate change and the need to react to it, also are the same people who, when a natural disaster occurs, fight against federal disaster aid, as in SuperStorm Sandy.

And if they, grudgingly, give up and say that disaster aid should be offered, they want the least aid possible, and only if there are budget cuts elsewhere to cover for the disaster aid.

So we have the two Oklahoma Senators–two of the absolute worst members of the US Senate at any time in our history—who represent one of the poorest states, but also a state of the oil industry, who take a hard hearted view on disaster aid, and budget cuts to compensate for such disaster aid!

James Inhofe and Tom Coburn have no problem in being “skin flints” on disaster aid, but if such is to be given, then hurt the poor, the sick, the unemployed, rather than make corporations pay fair taxes, make the wealthy pay more taxes, make all of us understand that when natural disaster hits, it is not just the people in the area of the disaster who suffer, but instead we all suffer!

It is the responsibility of all of us to help our fellow citizens, with the corporations and the wealthy being expected to pay more, but all of us need to pay more, and understand the Christian view that we are all our “brother’s keeper”!

What has happened to common decency, common dignity, and common humanity?

What has so sickened the body politic that all that matters is selfishness, greed, and lack of concern for our fellow citizens?

Is this the America that we want to live in? Is this the America that our Founding Fathers believed in when they created the Constitution? Is this the America that people have fought and died for in our wars? Is this the America we want to bequeath to our children and our children’s children?

This is a time to think about values and what really matters, rather than just money and things and possessions, and not caring about people we do not know!

It is a time to come together and strike back at these vicious right wing, narrow minded people who only care about themselves, and no one else!

Never let a good crises go to waste , right Ron? Any event is a good excuse to grow government and raise taxes. Never mind saving on waste and fraud. Let’s make government bigger, create more bureaucracies and make it more uncontrollable!

You know what Juan? You are a real ________. Fill in the appropriate descriptor.. The one you know I would use to describe you!
The 2 senators Inoff and Colburn have voted against any and all assistance to other states for disaster assistance ( but only since Obama has been President) but they will have their hands in the till for their own state!!! Those ass clowns NEVER EVER complained before about assisting disaster victims and work their asses off to grab US tax dollars for their own interests while denying as much as possible to others.
You’re all a bunch a HYPOCRITES! Screw everyone else but when it comes to right wing needs and wants it ‘s GIMME GIMME GIMME OR ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE!

I also stand by my belief that progressivism is about using the tools of government to advance important individual and societal goals that individuals cannot reasonably achieve on their own and/or that the free market will not provide.

I am one hundred percent in agreement with you, Princess Leia, on what you said directly above!

    Professor, Maggie, & Princess Leia,
It is now time for a cold slap of reality for Juan.

    Point 1.
    Juan’s Fantasy:
He pontificates on the National Budget and World Economics by telling all what and how his nihilistic corrections should be done. (Not any original thoughts on Guano’s part, but simply repeating what he has heard on Blow Hard Radio or Bull Crap Web sites where those sources know less than very little facts or understanding of the subjects.)

    Truth:
I find it odd that NARCISSICTIC Juan who cannot perform proficiency in the 7th grade math I proposed to him but worse yet, even 4th grade math was too much of a challenge for him. What makes him think he has the capabilities to comment on a child’s weekly allowance much less the National Budget and World Economics, but from his writings he thinks he is an expert. There are too many out there in the real world like him….Calling themselves Reagan Conservatives. Bottom line…Dumb Asses!!

    Point 2.
    Juan’s Fantasy:
We have heard Juan go on and on that there is no Global Warming / Climate Change plus he can find non-accurate science links to support his views. He thinks this is all he needs to prove his points and making him an expert on this too.

    Truth:
I find continually odd that that Juan does not have even the rudimentary Chemistry understanding and cannot place the origin by the unique Carbon in the Carbon Dioxide that is the source of the green house gas that were in discussion. HE did not even comprehend that the carbon identifier I was asking about could even be a sub-part of the carbon dioxide molecule. How freaking sad was that?!?

When the Koch Brothers funded their own Global Warming / Climate Change study, their own hand picked climatologist scientist’s findings were that, “Yes there is Global Warming / Climate Change and “Yes” it is man made!”

Of course this is quite the opposite per Juan’s own findings…..but as I said has not the rudimentary understanding of high school chemistry.

So in conclusion I will state that these aspects have been Juan-A-Nized!!!

By the way Juan, I do not ask these questions to you to be cruel, but to see how much you really know about the subjects you have been commenting on. IT is called “Socratic Irony.”

You have failed miserably…… YOU ARE A DULLARD.

Ron, as you can very well see, your progressive leftist friends are back to insulting me. So much for tolerance and civilized conversation. In any event Engineer has not answered any of my questions, which comes down to this, has he made , or anyone for that matter, a cost/benefits analysis of the various government measures, such as a carbon tax, to combat CO2 emission? Apparently that is a very difficult question for the so called Engineer of Knowledge. What kind of an _____ calls himself “Engineer of Knowledge”? And he calls me narcissistic?

  11. Engineer Of Knowledge May 21, 2013 10:45 pm

    LOL…OK Juan,
You have thrown down the gauntlet. Answer the original 7th grade math question of thirteen to the exponent of zero correcly, and I will conceed to all your comments.

The ball is in your court. Go for it.

If you cannot, I have once again proven my evaluations.
