The Courage Of Pro NRA Senators Who Voted For The Universal Background Checks Bill

Attention has been paid to those Pro NRA Senators who refused to support the Universal Background Checks bill, and who now have suffered drops in public opinion polls in their states, including Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, Ohio Senator Rob Portman, Arizona Senator Jeff Flake, Nevada Senator Dean Heller, and New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte.

Not as much attention has been paid to the Senators of both parties who did not let their basically Pro NRA viewpoints stand in the way of common sense and reality.

These include:

Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania
Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania
Senator Martin Heinrich of New Mexico
Senator Joe Donnelly of Indiana
Senator Tim Johnson of South Dakota
Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia
Senator Jon Tester of Montana
Senator Harry Reid of Nevada
Senator Mark Warner of Virginia

And shame on Democratic Senators Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Nick Begich of Alaska, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, and Max Baucus of Montana for voting against the Universal Background Checks, and a salute to Republican Senators John McCain of Arizona, Susan Collins of Maine, and Mark Kirk of Illinois, who joined Pat Toomey in support of the legislation!

Princess your president is responsible for deviding our nation and he was voted in twice, now that is really scary.

Nope, Dave. It’s the GOP who is dividing the nation. Sorry you are blind to that. Good day to you.

As I have said before, the most devisive president since Lincoln.

Only ones who are divisive are the loony Republicans.

Dave, you are being ridiculous! Obama is MORE divisive than Nixon, Bush II? And you see Lincoln in a divisive way? You sound like an NRA guy who calls the Civil War “the war of Northern aggression”! You tell us a lot about you when you call Lincoln “divisive”, as he SAVED THE UNION and ended slavery, but maybe that bothers you, since you have problems with an African American President who is more articulate than most Presidents, but that, I guess, is upsetting to you, too! Imagine, a black guy who is intelligent and articulate, which Bush II was neither of those characteristics!

The people are awake and will vote the loony Republicans out in 2014!

Dave Martin writes, “As I have said before, the most devisive president since [Abraham] Lincoln.”

    I wish.

Now as for this issue, it’s interesting many are pissed off at Republican Sens. Jeff Flake (R-Arizona) and Kelly Ayotte (R-New Hampshire), to name two. And on the Democratic side, add Sens. Mark Begich (D-Alaska) and Max Baucus (D-Montana). That their polls numbers are down.

I find this whole thing an example of how bought and paid our Congress is. Recent speculation is that the issue will be revisited. We’ll see.
