The Conservative Political Action Conference: A Bunch Of Retreads And Future Losers!

Conservatives are in the third of four days of their annual Conservative Political Action Conference, and it is quite an event, a circus of retreads and future losers, who fail to see that the nation has rejected their ideology when it is presented to them in Senate races, and only holding on to power in the House of Representatives because of gerrymandered districts created by the Tea Party uprising of 2010, which led to a large number of Republican governors and state legislatures at the precisely correct time to affect the shaping of House districts for the ten year cycle following the census figures.

The Tea Party movement has had its heyday, and there are already signs of its future demise, although they will persist in some rural districts in the House, and have their Senators, including Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul, all ambitious to be President of the United States, but none of them should be delusional that they will actually be the next President, while they are all fighting to outdo each other three years ahead of 2016!

Attention at this conference is given to such retreads as Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Donald Trump, Paul Ryan, and Newt Gingrich.

Also, such losers as Wayne La Pierre, Grover Norquist and the usual right wing talk show hosts, including Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, are part of the “distinguished” speakers spewing forth their divisiveness.

And the conservatives are making clear that they will not budge in any form on the issue of gay rights, immigration reform, their “traditional” view of women being submissive to men, and refusal to separate science from the influence of religion!

There are differences on foreign policy between the libertarians and the neoconservatives, however, and any suggestion of moderation on ANY issue has led to Chris Christie and Bob McDonnell being denied an invitation to speak.

The ultimate reality is that it does not matter what happens at the CPAC, as it is like Don Quixote battling the windmill! The American people are NOT going to elect any of these “clowns”, even those who seem more “moderate”, such as Christie, to the White House in 2016. The Republicans are fighting a civil war, primarily over who shall represent them in 2016, but it is all for naught!

The next President will, assuredly, be a Democrat—whether Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Martin O’Malley, Andrew Cuomo, Elizabeth Warren, Mark Warner, Amy Klobuchar or someone else not yet known!

And the insults continue on the “tolerant” Stalinist, Chavez, Leninist, Obamanist Alinskyiet Progressive (actually Regressive) Socialist Liberal Left of the DemocRAT Party. It seems they are the only ones with carte-blanche to insult the real opposition to their despotic tyrannical repressive policies. Yet they always get highly offended with we conservative/classic liberals call them out on it. They call for moving “Forward” as all the socialist regimes of the past and current ones have, yet they propose old formulas such as the outdated New Deal. They impose top down totalitarian formulas such as the infamous Obamacare or Dodd-Frank upon the citizens, yet they claim that is compassionate. They steal from the producers and workers of this nation to give to their constituencies, while keeping some hefty change in their coffers, in other words they are thieves, yet they claim they do this for their constituent poor, who, by the way what a coincidence, remain poor for ever. They actually despise people, they look down on them as idiots, stupid or immature children who are not capable of making life choices and thus need the help of the ever knowing elitist progressive left and their bureaucratic dynasty, yet they claim they care for the people. They accuse all those who oppose their tyrannical regime as racist , yet they continue to display racism daily and don’t even realize it. I remember how racism in our culture was exclusively and fully on display back in the 2008 DemocRAT primary. It was not us, the conservative/classic liberals asking whether Barack Obama was authentic. What we were asking is: Is he wrong? We concluded, yes. We still think so. But we didn’t ask if he was authentically black. We didn’t say, as some Southern Christian Leadership Conference leaders said: “Barack is not authentic, he’s not got any slave blood. He’s really not down for the struggle, but his wife is.” So as always don’t expect the race industry to go away. I remember the bigotry of the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden. It was Joe Biden while walking through the train station he knows so well because he’s such a “real guy”, that he made a comment that “you can’t go into a 7-Eleven without seeing some Indian guy behind the counter. They’re all over the place.” Now, let a conservative/classic liberal say something like that and he’s brought up before John Conyers’ committee with Pat Leahy wanting at you next and the media destroying him 24/7! The hypocrisy of the left and the media is despicable. Yet they do believe that they have compassion. They do believe they care. But, see, we never are allowed to look at the results of their plans, we are told we must only look at their good intentions, their big hearts. The fact that they have destroyed poor families by breaking up those families by offering welfare checks to women to keep having babies no more father needed, he’s out doing something, the government’s the father, they destroy the family. We’re not supposed to analyze that. We’re not supposed to talk about that. We’re supposed to talk about their good intentions. They destroy people’s futures. The future is not Big Government. Self-serving politicians. Powerful bureaucrats. This has been tried, tested throughout history. The result has always been disaster. President Obama’s and the leftist authoritarian progressive/liberal agenda is not new. It’s not change, and it’s not hope. It’s all about control. That is what they are about. President Obama is one of the most gifted politicians, one of the most gifted men that I have ever witnessed. He has extraordinary talents. He has communication skills that hardly anyone can surpass. I’m being very serious about this. It just breaks my heart that he does not use these extraordinary talents and gifts to motivate and inspire the American people to be the best they can be. He’s doing just the opposite. And it’s a shame. President Obama has the ability to inspire excellence in people’s pursuits. He has the ability to do all this, yet he pursues a path, seeks a path that punishes achievement, that punishes earners and he speaks negatively of the country. Ronald Reagan used to speak of a shining city on a hill. Barack Obama portrays America as a soup kitchen in some dark night in a corner of America that’s very obscure, unjust and unfair. President Obama is so busy trying to foment and create anger in a created atmosphere of crisis, he is so busy fueling the emotions of class envy that he’s forgotten it’s not his money that he’s spending. In fact, the money he’s spending is not ours. He’s spending wealth that has yet to be created. And that is not sustainable. It will not work. This has been tried around the world. And every time it’s been tried, it’s a failed disaster. Yet Obama seems to be succeeding in implementing these policies and as a result of him not failing, America is failing! What’s the longest war in American history? The war on poverty. The war on poverty essentially started in the ’30s as part of the New Deal, but it really ramped up in the ’60s with Lyndon Johnson, part of the Great Society war on poverty. We have transferred something like 10 trillion, maybe close to 11 trillion, from producers and earners to non-producers and non-earners since 1965. Yet, as I listen to the DemocRAT Party, President Obama, the media and the authoritarian progressive liberal/left, America is still a soup kitchen, the poor are still poor and they have no hope and they’re poor for what reason? They’re poor because of us, because of American society, because we don’t care, and because we’ve gotten rich by taking from them, that’s what kids in school are taught today. That’s what the media regurgitates like obedient serfs of the State bureaucracy/the DemocRAT Party, which by the way is all the same since the DemocRAT Party is the party of the State. You know why they’re poor, you know why they remain poor? Because their lives have been destroyed by the never-ending government hay that’s designed to help them, because it destroys ambition. It destroys the education they might get to learn to be self-fulfilling. And that’s the way it has to be, otherwise how can the authoritarian progressive liberal left exercise control! As conservatives/classic liberals it just breaks our hearts. We lose track of numbers with all of the money, with all the money that’s been transferred, redistributed, with all the charitable giving in this country, there ought not be any poverty except those who are genuinely ill equipped to fend for themselves. But most of the people in poverty in this country are equipped for far much more. They’ve just been beaten down. They’re told don’t worry, we’ll take care of you. There’s nothing out there for you anyway; you’ll be discriminated against. It breaks our heart to see this. We can’t have a great country and a growing economy with more and more people being told they have a right, because of some injustice that’s been done to them or some discrimination, that they have a right to the earnings of others. And it’s gotten so out of hand now that what worries us is that this administration, the Barack Obama administration has actively expanded and seeks to expand even more the welfare state in this country because he wants the DemocRAT party to control it. In 1975 George Will once asked Dr. Friedrich Von Hayek, a tremendous classical economist a great man, ” Dr. Von Hayek, why is it that intellectuals, supposed smartest people in the room, why is it that intellectuals can look right out their windows, their own homes and cars and look at their universities and not see the bounties and the growth and the greatness of capitalism?” And Von Hayek said: “I’ve troubled over this for years and I’ve finally concluded that for intellectuals, pseudo-intellectuals, and all progressive leftist liberals, it’s about control.”

WOW, Juan, you are really angry and bitter this morning, more than usual!

Your ranting and raving, however, wears thin, and you sound more than ever as the propaganda agency for the Heritage Foundation, the Hudson Institute, the American Enterprise Institute, the Hoover Institution, the Cato Institute and other conservative think tanks. I wonder how you find time to practice law!

  3. Juan Domingo Peron March 16, 2013 2:18 pm

There you go again! Typical projection. I am not bitter at all and taking 5 min to comment on a Saturday is not that difficult to manage. Especially when it is so easy! LOL! Now your accusations are very amusing when you consider it comes from someone who posted early this morning the following bitter delusional lies and angry attacks: “a circus of retreads and future losers,”,”retreads as Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum,Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Donald Trump, Paul Ryan, and Newt Gingrich.”, “distinguished” speakers spewing forth their divisiveness.” ,”their “traditional” view of women being submissive to men, and refusal to separate science from the influence of religion!”. Talk about being bitter! And in past post you have spewed more insults and attacks in some of your greatest hits showing just how bitter you are. Examples are abundant ; “the Koch Brothers will be able to extend their evil influence” , “These Tea Party radicals have no conscience, no ethics, no sense of propriety in their public actions, and have absolutely no concern about those less fortunate”,(Defend and promote liberty and you are now a radical!), “the Republican Party has become a party dominated by Tea Party radicals, who promote racism, misogyny, nativism, concern only to promote the welfare of the wealthy, and willingness to engage in foreign wars that have cost us dearly in treasure and loss of life and limb!”,”Sarah Palin has plagued the public discourse with her stupidity, ignorance, prejudicial views” and this one is very telling “The only way for the Republican Party to survive long term is to excise the cancer, the poison, that is the right wing media industrial complex, as well as Christian extremists!” So you have used the words, racism, misogyny, nativism, cancer, poison, looney, radical, extremist, evil, retread, losers, stupidity, ignorance and prejudicial to describe conservatives/classic liberals yet when we respond we are the bitter and hateful. You are just like your dear leader Barack Husein Obama,he spends 5 years insulting anyone who dares disagree with the him the anointed one, he started out with his infamous “bitter and clinging to guns and Bible” remark all the way to accusing Republicans of wanting dirty air and water for our children, yet don’t even dare call him out on it! Because if you do, you are a hateful bitter racist! The leftist progressive liberal DemocRATS seem to believe only they have the right to attack and insult. Well guess what? You guys are delusional if you believe that!

  4. Ronald March 16, 2013 3:09 pm

Tsk Tsk, Juan, I know the truth hurts! Yes, the right wing has spewed poison and hate for years, and when progressives have the “cajones” to respond in kind, you guys all act shocked and defensive, like “Wow, the progressives are nasty!” Well, being nice and gentlemanly does not work, as we have come to realize, so we have to play “hardball” to defend ourselves and the American people, who have been victimized by the right wing from Reagan to Bush II, and now are trying to clean up the mess they created, while leaving 98 percent of the nation behind, and creating an economy where the top two percent have 40 percent of the wealth! The middle class has been destroyed, and the poor are worse off than ever before, and that is not enough for you in your law office utopia, pontificating about America being like Argentina under Peron!

What I have said about the various “characters” hurts, because you KNOW it is totally true, but want to defend those who have failed, are phony, and have no future influence on American policy, other than to be a pain the butt, but one we can laugh about as pesky and annoying, but unable to change the future, thank goodness!

  5. Juan Domingo Peron March 16, 2013 3:49 pm

LOL! So the creators of the Daisy Democrat ad now all of a sudden you say they were “being nice and gentlemanly” all along!( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExjDzDsgbww) All the Democrats did , do and will always do is spew hate, fear, lies and division! Do you think I was born yesterday? You can pull that “we are just responding to the nasty conservatives” lie to your students and all the drones out there, but not with me or anyone that has at least some synapse going on up their in their heads, which is to much to ask for of the Obama zombies out their all over our fruited plain! LOL! So under no circumstances are we either shocked and defensive, we just respond appropriately! And by the way, since I am of Argentine heritage, I can do all the pontificating I wish, since we now have an Argentine Pope! Habemus Papam!!! LOL!!!!

  6. Ronald March 16, 2013 4:25 pm

    Congrats on the Argentine Pope!

LBJ ad on Goldwater was unusually nasty, but Goldwater was a great threat, and had to be exposed, much like Romney with the 47 percent comment.

  7. Maggie March 16, 2013 7:06 pm

Oh for God’s sake Juan….. GET OVER YOURSELF!
Stop wallowing in the swamp of right wing insanity!

Stop being a pompus jackass…oh wait.. It’s in your DNA isn’t it?

You must have a pitiful, lonely life. You sit in wait for the Professor to post … you are so predictable! LOL! then you jump in to educate us!

You obviously have nothing else in your life to occupy your mind so you hang around this blog… and some other Liberal blogs…….. 🙂 salivating waiting to spew your regurgitated insane conservative pap and absurd assertions from the Rush Limbaugh play book. Joke is on you though….he makes big bucks spewing!

    You and your conservative
co-asylum inmates are becoming a joke….you do realize that don’t you…… with right your rt wing paranoia festivals?

I have some news for you hot shot…YOUR PARTY LOST THE ELECTION! You lost the WH twice and you will lose it and the congress in 2016!

Americans have become wise to your BS and recognize you’re out to destroy everything in this country just so you can blame it on the scary black guy in the WH!

Your party is also hell bent on punishing ALL Liberals / Progressive Americans for turning you out of office and not marching lock- step to your draconian ideology.

The utter insanity of you R wingers has been on display since the Reagan years but thanks to social media millions more Americans are hearing and seeing it first hand!!!!

Yet…. still you lunatics don’t see it!
What the hell is wrong with you? LOL!

  8. Juan Domingo Peron March 16, 2013 7:47 pm

Maggie! Good Afternoon! How are you doing? Fine I hope. Do you always insult everyone who doesn’t agree with your progressive/liberal statist big government worldview? Is that all you can do? So, another moderate Republican lost an election to the White House. What’s new about that? It’s the same old story. I understand your nervousness, the thought of a conservative/classic liberal candidate for the GOP is not something progressives look forward to. You guys just want the nice little go along moderates to tag along and keep losing elections to progressive/liberal demagogues. I understand your internal desire to have conservatives/classic liberals to just shut up and disappear. After all you are so tolerant! It must be dreadful not to control the House and the majority of the states governorships and legislatures. It must be awful to know that half of the people in this country don’t agree politically with you. It must be terrible to realize that the political spectrum is not a monochrome blue. To have people actually dissent and have other ideas, to have people believe in freedom, strong limited government and self reliance is disgusting! These people who don’t agree with you Maggie must be lunatics! Right Maggie? But hey, that’s the way the Founders set up the system in our Constitution. You know that document that the left despises and always want to do away with, as they have stated in various occasions. It’s just bugs you so much that your anointed one cannot have ALL THE POWER TO DO GOOD, because only leftists can do good. Oh and of course you as well as Ron just cannot help yourselves, you just have to play the race card. You guys seem addicted to Obama’s race. Good grief get over it! He’s half white anyways! Have a good one Maggie! LOL!

CPAC comes across as some therapeutic convention seminar for those party-first figures calling themselves conservatives and Republicans…appearing all togther for their collective hugs and affirmations.

In his party’s response to President Obama’s 2013 State of the Union, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) did the usual speak about how government isn’t the solution…while the junior senator of the Sunshine State revealed in that very same response that he had government aid in funding his college education.

2012 vice-presidential nominee Paul Ryan, the congressman of Wisconsin’s 1st district, also believes that government isn’t the answer. But Rep. Ryan still collected Social Security because he relied on it to be able to survive. And, like Rubio, he and other philosophical viewpoints so often espoused by Serious Republicans deliberately fail to note that, while government is too big and isn’t the solution, these Republican pols are very willing to be a part of the too-big-government and a part of the non-solution. After all, they have applied for their government jobs; they have won their most recent elections; and, setting aside that Rubio is still in his first term, they have run for re-elections in order to continue to be a part of the too-big-government which, of course, isn’t the answer to solving our nation’s problems.

It is really said that the Rep. Ryan is still given any credit as a “Serious” Washington, D.C. politician from any major news media not named Fox News Channel. The fact that he wants to eliminate Social Security and Medicare, though with disguised language not challenged by those broadcasters who continue to suck up to get him on their Sunday-morning programs, should have totally discredited Ryan for being much more dangerous to this country than Sarah Palin. Yes, the 2012 Republicans had an even worse vice-presidential nominee, one even less worthy than Palin. (After 2008, many didn’t think that was possible.)

I have to say that Ronald’s thread feels like the opposite of a love letter…but my reaction to this Republican Party is that they’re running on empty. They are past the point of revelance much less being taken seriously. What keeps them afloat is, as David Frum referred, the Conservative Entertainment Complex; the Koch brothers; a complicit American news media (broadcast and otherwise); and a Democratic Party, with a president who has continued with much of the Bush administration’s policies on military and national security, which isn’t moving the country away from the right (contrary to outcries from party-first Republicans claiming otherwise).
